Delhi govt to launch full-day AC bus tour covering major tourist spots

The Delhi Government has initiated a project to revive its local tourist bus service by launching a full-day tour on AC e-buses on select routes covering major spots such as the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Kartavya Path, Prime Ministers' Museum, National War Memorial, and Lotus Temple. The proposal was approved during a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) board meeting held recently, said a senior officer with the tourism department. Under the plan, the tourism department will hire 9-metre-long DEVI buses from the DTC that can accommodate around 30 passengers, and each bus will have a tourist guide to provide information on the historical significance of the sites to the tourists. 'There are also plans to provide an audio translation system or headset in-built with multiple languages to the tourists, so that they can understand what the guide is saying. If a tourist from Tamil Nadu does not understand Hindi, the person will have an option to understand what is being said in Tamil,' the officer explained. According to the tourism department, it will operate the service on a pilot basis with 3-4 buses and will increase the bus services on this circuit based on the success. There are also plans to bring more places under the circuit and also create more tourist circuits, said an officer. 'We are planning to upgrade the designs of the bus by changing the body wrap to attract more tourists,' the officer added. According to sources, the new tourist bus service is likely to start on or before August 15. The department said that discussions on fare charges are underway. 'The fare model—whether it will be based on a daily rate or a revenue-sharing model—is still under consideration. The ticket prices are likely to be set at Rs 500 for adults and Rs 300 for children aged between 6 and 12. People can book these buses and enjoy a whole-day tour. Each bus will stop at every location for an hour or more,' said the officer. Earlier, the government had operated HoHo bus services, also called the Hop-on Hop-off bus service, that offered tourists a chance for Delhi sightseeing or 'Dilli Darshan'. The service was, however, discontinued during the Covid-19 period.

Rs 250000000000000: Elon Musk to earn massive amount of money using AI in Tesla, plan is to...

Elon Musk made a surprise appearance (virtually) at the Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley event in San Mateo, California on Saturday. The event brought together Tesla fans from around the world. During his talk, Musk made a bold claim that caught everyone's attention. He said, 'Tesla could make 1 billion Optimus robots every year in the future' which aims to grab a huge share of the 20 billion robot market. Musk estimated that even if each robot costs just Rs. 2.5 lakh (around USD 3,000), the total yearly revenue could reach Rs. 2,500 lakh crore (USD 30 trillion). Musk admitted that this goal is still like a 'dream in the sky', but he believes the progress in artificial intelligence is happening at a speed like a 'supersonic tsunami.' Tesla's Optimus Robot: Production to begin by 2025 Tesla is working on building humanoid robots called Optimus, using its advanced AI and manufacturing technologies. According to Musk, the latest version, Optimus Version 3, is now ready for mass production. By the end of 2025, Tesla plans to build a few hundred robots, even though the earlier goal was to produce thousands. From 2026 onwards, large-scale production is expected to begin. These robots are being designed to help with everyday tasks and if Musk's vision turns real, we could see a future where humanoid robots are as common as smartphones today. AI and Robots: Could this be world's biggest future market? Elon Musk believes that robots will be the biggest product of the future and he's not alone. Even NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang agrees with this vision. According to tech analyst Shellye Bolour from Futurum, the world spends around Rs. 4,100 lakh crore (USD 50 trillion) every year on human labor. If robots start taking over some of this work, it could lead to a massive transformation in the global economy. Musk says this shift shouldn't be feared. Instead, he calls it the 'age of abundance', where machines help improve life and increase prosperity. Tesla shares latest update Tesla investors are used to stock market swings. After the company released its Q2 earnings on Wednesday, its stock fell 8 per cent on Thursday, but then bounced back by 4 per cent on Friday. So far in 2025, Tesla shares are down 22 per cent, though they had also seen a 44 per cent rise over the past 12 months. The journey of Tesla in both AI and the stock market continues to be full of surprises. Key points for Tesla investors Here are some important things that investors should keep in mind when it comes to Tesla: More than 40 per cent of Tesla's traded shares are held by retail (small) investors. This is much higher than the average of around 25 per cent seen in other 'Magnificent Seven' tech stocks like Apple, Microsoft, or Google. Tesla stock is currently trading at 180 times its estimated 2025 earnings (P/E ratio). That's extremely high compared to most companies. In fact, in the entire S&P 500 index, only Palantir has a higher valuation right now. Tesla's stock often reacts strongly to major events or even Elon Musk's comments, especially during high-profile events like tech showcases or takeovers. Investors need to stay alert, as Musk's statements can influence stock prices almost instantly.

As ‘Karuppu Kavuni' paddy sees price crash, TN farmers seek govt support

Chennai: A surge in off-season cultivation of Karuppu Kavuni, a traditional black rice variety, has led to a sharp fall in prices, leaving farmers and rice mill owners across southern districts of Tamil Nadu, such as Madurai, Tiruchy, and Virudhunagar, grappling with losses. Typically grown during the samba season (September-January), Karuppu Kavuni has seen a shift in its cultivation pattern, with many farmers opting to grow it during the summer months. The move was largely driven by the high market value the variety previously commanded, with wholesale prices averaging Rs 50-Rs 60 per kg. However, the sudden oversupply has created a glut in the market, pushing prices down to Rs 35 per kg in Madurai on Sunday. A senior official from the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agri Business, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that large quantities of paddy from Madurai, Virudhunagar, and surrounding districts are being sold through the Thirumangalam Regulated Market using digital farmgate platforms. 'Currently, around 1,600 bags of old stock and 200 bags of new stock, each weighing 66 kg, are waiting to be sold,' the official said. The lack of buyers has led to a buildup of unsold stock, depressing wholesale prices further and leaving hundreds of bags languishing in storage as dead stock. MSK Bakkiyanathan, a farmers' representative, has urged the state government to intervene by procuring Karuppu Kavuni under the same system used for conventional paddy varieties. 'Many farmers are in distress as they are unable to sell their produce in the open market,' he said. A rice mill owner from Virudhunagar, Ram Kumar, pointed out that off-season cultivation has affected the distinctive deep-purple colour and grain quality of Karuppu Kavuni. 'Because the rice lacks its iconic attributes, millers are hesitant to purchase the stock. Even after buying it at a higher price earlier, we are now compelled to sell the processed rice at lower rates,' he explained. He also appealed to the government to regulate off-season cultivation of the variety to protect its quality and market value. With prices continuing to fall and demand drying up, both farmers and millers are pinning hopes on government action to stabilise the market and ensure the survival of this heritage grain.
