Bradford woman who stabbed ex and left him in coma jailed
The court heard that Mulchrone, of Quarry Place in Bradford, attacked her partner at Dobrudden Caravan Park at around 07:00 BST. Prosecutor Gerald Hendren told the court that Mulchrone and Mr Minnott had been in a "toxic" relationship for around four months before the incident.The pair had gone out in Leeds with friends, and the court heard that Mulchrone was "flirting" with other men to make Mr Minnott jealous. When he did not rise to it, Mulchrone slapped Mr Minnott, the court heard.Mr Minnott then got a taxi home, the court heard, but Mulchrone called his phone repeatedly, threatened him and then later rang to say she was going to take her own life.The court heard that Mulchrone said she was going to "kill" him, adding: "You don't know who you're messing with."Mr Hendren said: "Courtney was now saying she's had enough and she's going to kill herself."He added: "She'd also threatened to damage Jordan's car and he was concerned about that."The court heard that Mr Minnott got a taxi to the caravan park, where she was living at the time, and found her kicking his Audi A1 car, which he had left there.It was then that the argument escalated and Mulchrone stabbed Mr Minnott, who said he had been "left for dead" on the floor, the court heard.
'World was torn apart'
Mulchrone was initially charged with attempted murder, but this was dropped alongside a charge of controlling and coercive behaviour.She was found not guilty of possessing a bladed article in a public place.Mulchrone was also charged with a count of criminal damage, which she had admitted before the trial.
"My world was torn apart," Mr Minnott said in court before Mulchrone was sentenced."It was one of the scariest days of my life."He said: "I remember feeling numb, not being able to feel my body."It is something I will never forget."Mr Minnott described it as a near-death experience, adding that he remembered "watching myself, lifeless, lying on the ground"."It was also so surreal," he said."It was like my soul left my body," adding: "I accepted this is how I am going to die."Mr Minnott told the court that he woke up four days later in a confused and scared state, unable to move and being fed through a tube."I'd gone from being a fit young person who regularly went to the gym to someone who could not wipe the dribble from their own chin," he said."How could I have gone from lifting heavy weights to not being able to lift a small cup?"Mr Minnott said he still suffered from the physical and psychological damage caused to him, and was unable to continue his work as a groundsman due to its physical demands.Before being sentenced, Mulchrone, wearing grey trousers and a waistcoat with a white shirt, blew a kiss and waved to her family.At sentencing, Honorary Recorder of Bradford Judge Jonathan Rose described the instance as an "unprovoked attack on Jordan Minnott which resulted in you stabbing him".He added that without the quick intervention he received, "Mr Minnott would have lost his life".Mulchrone will serve half her sentence before being released on licence and has an indefinite restraining order imposed.

A GANG wearing balaclavas murdered a tourist after following him home from a London nightclub in a botched bag robbery. The 27-year-old man was visiting from Greece and on a night out with friends before he was followed for eight miles and brutally robbed and knifed to death. 2 Five men have now been found guilty of murder following the botched robbery. Antonis Antoniadis, 27, had gone to a nightclub near Oxford Circus with friends in the early hours of July 7 last year before he was robbed and knifed to death. They left the club at around 8.15am and caught a taxi back to Florence Terrace, New Cross, where they were staying with a friend. What they didn't know was that they were being followed by a gang who had spent several hours in central London in a stolen car. They followed Antonis and his friends for eight miles and more than 30 minutes back to New Cross. As Antonis and his friends were attempting to get into their address, Sofian Alliche, Shian Johnson, Joshua McCorquodale, and Alfie Hipple exited the vehicle. The other, Amin Alliche, who was 17 years old at the time, remained in the driver's seat of the car. The group of four, all wearing balaclavas and armed with large knives, grabbed Antonis' bag before they stabbed him in the chest and right thigh. The wound to Antonis' leg severed his femoral artery causing catastrophic blood loss. He initially survived the attack and fought for his life in hospital for two weeks before passing away on Sunday, July 21 last year. Amin Alliche then drove them across the Thames to Northwest London where they sold the device. After returning to their "home turf" in Camden, they hid the stolen vehicle under a car cover. There was no CCTV of the attack but after a gruelling investigation, the police tracked the gang's movements and recovered the stolen car which ultimately proved they were responsible for killing Antonis. Several of their addresses were searched during the investigation where a number of weapons were seized. A zombie knife, five machetes, two swords, two lock knives and seven other knives were found. Amin Alliche,18, Sofian Alliche, 20, both of Bury Place, Holborn, Shian Johnson, 26, of Argyle Walk, King's Cross, Joshua McCorquodale, 20, of Upper Park Road, Chalk Farm, and Alfie Hipple, 18, of Kentish Town Road, Camden, were all found guilty of murder and conspiracy to commit robbery following an eight-week trial at the Old Bailey. They will be sentenced at the same court on Friday, October 3. Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, Specialist Crime South, said: 'Antonis had been visiting from Greece with friends. Very tragically he never made it home to his family. "This was a particularly challenging and complex case given the lack of CCTV at the scene and the movement of the vehicle, which had been driven by the defendants continuously throughout the night of 6 July and into the following afternoon. 'I would like to thank in particular Antonis' friends, who had witnessed his brutal murder and returned to the UK to give their evidence. "I would also like to thank the witnesses' who came forward and helped us to understand what had happened to Antonis. I am pleased our concerted efforts to find those responsible has enabled us to achieve justice for Antonis' loved ones, family, and friends.'

Two seriously hurt after taxi and car crash at 3am in Birmingham
Three men have been taken to hospital after a crash involving a taxi and a car in services were called to Icknield Street, at its junction with Hingeston Street, Soho, shortly after 03:00 BST on Midlands Police said a man driving a Peugeot taxi and a man from a Volkswagen Golf were taken to hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.A second man from the Volkswagen Golf was also taken to hospital for treatment to injuries.
