Oxford's 20mph zones delayed until Botley Road reopens
The scheme was originally due to be completed by the end of the 2024/25 financial year, but a review of Oxford's roads has yet to take place.Ahead of Tuesday's full council meeting, Labour councillor Brad Baines submitted a written question to Liberal Democrat transport cabinet member Andrew Gant, asking why Oxford still did not have "a comprehensive 20mph network".
'Deliberately deferred'
Gant replied: "[The] traffic filters will be a trial scheme with various uncertainties, so we don't know exactly what its impact will be."We want to understand the impact of this and other schemes before assessing the need and implementing further 20mph limits in Oxford."And he told councillors at the meeting: "The short answer is Botley Road. It's on the list of the 20mph scheme and has been deliberately deferred until the Botley Road finishes."Bicester, parts of Banbury and Carterton are also awaiting a review of 20mph speed limits.The programme is part of the council's vision zero scheme that aims to reduce deaths and serious injuries on roads.

As for looks, Vauxhall has given Mokka GSE some serious rally vibes with lots of yellow detailing, Alcantara seats, GSE badging and more. The steering wheel is flattened top and bottom. Performance data flashes up on the central touchscreen. The pedals are aluminium. It rolls on 20in aero wheels. Vauxhall Mokka hybrid is a smarter, greener & better equipped version of old motor… but small detail really lets it down Expect Corsa to get the GSE treatment, too. Only the EV, not Corsa petrol. GSE stands for Grand Sport Electric. Vauxhall boss Steve Catlin said: 'Mokka GSE is made to be exciting to drive and brings motorsport energy to the streets.' A47 closed at East Winch after lorry and van collision
Police have closed off a major road after a serious Police closed the A47 Lynn Road in both directions at East Winch between the A10 Hardwick Roundabout and the A1122 at about 14:10 (BST) on collision involved a lorry and a van, according to the travel analytics company, Highways said investigation work was ongoing and the road was expected to remain closed for some time. Larkin Special Vehicles Announces Itself As is the case every year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, there's so much going on that absorbing all of it is simply impossible. Established automakers show off why they still deserve the public's attention, and newcomers aim to capture some of that interest for the first time. Watch More Designed by former Aston Martin and Jaguar Land Rover engineer Douglas Larkin, the Feroxa is based on the 2006-2018 Aston Martin Vantage, and that means two engine options… V8 Or V12 On Offer Customers supply their Vantage in right- or left-hand drive, and Larkin modifies the bonded aluminum chassis to accommodate a new carbon fiber body, aiming to keep weight below 1,300 kilograms or 2,866 lbs. That low figure means the original 4.3-liter V8 is worth sticking with, though a new exhaust with custom headers helps boost output from 380 horsepower as standard to 420 hp here. Should you want more grunt, Bamford Rose can further tune the V8. Either way, the Graziano six-speed manual transmission is retained with a lighter flywheel. If you start with the V12 model and its 5.9-liter engine, over 500 ponies will be available; Aston Martin offered between 510 and 592 hp when the naturally aspirated 12-cylinder Vantage was on sale. Larkin makes no mention of the seven-speed dog-leg manual in the V12 Vantage S, but it's likely that most commissioning buyers will start with something a little less special (only 351 examples of the V12 Vantage S were built – 260 coupes and 91 roadsters). Only 10 Examples Will Be Built Rotiform DTM wheels (replicas of the classic OZ Racing Ultraleggera design) fill the arches, giving the speedster a racy look, but we hope to see higher-quality wheels fitted to the final product; cast imitation wheels don't belong on a six-figure sports car. The interior of the car was also a mess at Goodwood, but Larkin expects to complete its prototype by the end of the year, with a full reveal planned for next spring. With a long hood over a naturally aspirated V8 or V12, a manual transmission, a pert rear end housing the driven axle, and an open top, the Feroxa has all the ingredients of a classic sports car recipe.
