Officers allege the group used social media sites to sell fake high-end clothing, shoes, handbags and watches, moving an estimated $9.75m in profits through various bank accounts.

A 30-year old in Fairfield East, a 33-year old in Merrylands and a 30-year-old in Guildford were arrested and taken to Granville Police Station.
The 30-year old Fairfield East man was charged with multiple offences including concealing proceeds of crime, and participating in a criminal group.
The 33-year-old man from Merrylands was charged with similar offences and the 30-year old from Guildford was also charged with failing to comply with a digital evidence access order direction.

Organised Crime Squad commander Detective Superintendent Peter Faux said the arrests sent a clear message to organised crime groups.
'We will allege these individuals built a multimillion-dollar empire by deceiving consumers and undermining legitimate businesses,' he said.
'Behind the filters and followers was a sophisticated criminal enterprise exploiting digital platforms to sell counterfeit luxury goods.
'This kind of organised crime will not go unchecked. The NSW Police Force, working closely with the NSW Crime Commission, has not only arrested those responsible but are actively targeting the profits they've made illegally.'
NSW Crime Commission executive director Darren Bennett added the operation had uncovered a significant stockpile of assets.
'The evidence suggests this criminal group stockpiled significant wealth – vehicles, cash, and luxury goods – through the sale of counterfeit items. These assets are now under the control of the NSW Crime Commission,' he said.
'We've commenced proceedings to recover millions of dollars, with the aim of returning that money to the people of NSW. This is a clear example of how financial investigations can strike at the heart of organised crime.'

‘Surreal': Dog walker's chilling discovery
Port Lincoln locals Katie and her friend were walking up Slipway Rd on Thursday afternoon. Just moments earlier, police had announced they had discovered a human skull in the walking trails and scrubland between Slipway Rd and Hindmarsh Rd on the eastern edge of the popular fishing town. She was arrested on June 19 and charged with murder and destroy human remains. South Australian Police and SES volunteers fanned out across the town to search for Mr Story's missing remains in the days and weeks following the alleged murder, but the search was suspended last week. But in a shock development, police announced on Thursday afternoon they believed they had found Mr Story's head. A resident walking their dog found the skull and reported it to the authorities, police said. 'Preliminary investigations and phone calls to forensic science centre (indicate) the remains are most likely human, and I believe they are the remains of Julian Story,' Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke said. Greg, who has lived in Port Lincoln since the 1970s, said locals discussed the case regularly. 'It was a gruesome bloody incident,' he said, speaking before Thursday's discovery. Man arrested in alleged $38m fraud scheme to remain in custody
A man allegedly involved in a massive $38m fraud scheme will remain in custody on remand after his arrest at a $37,000-a-month Barangaroo penthouse rental. Bing Li, one of two alleged ringleaders of the fraud scheme, was hauled out of a suite at Crown casino in Barangaroo on Thursday wearing a $6000 Louis Vuitton bomber jacket and marched through the forecourt to a waiting police van. The 38-year-old has been charged with a long list of offences, including 87 counts of deception, forgery and proceeds of crime charges. Police will allege he is responsible for a $12.9m fraud. In the Downing Centre Local Court on Friday, Mr Li's matter was briefly mentioned. A release application for Mr Li to be bailed was initially submitted to the court. However, it was later withdrawn, with Mr Li expected to remain in custody on remand ahead of his next court appearance. He will return to court on September 11. NSW Police began investigating a luxury 'ghost car' loan fraud scheme in January 2024 but now say the alleged scam run wider into large-scale personal, business and home loan fraud. In the early hours of Wednesday, police raided 10 properties, seizing two Bentleys, a Ferrari 360, cash, a gun and two Tasers, body armour and drugs. Speaking to the media at Parramatta Police Station, Detective Superintendent Gordon Arbinja said members of the alleged syndicate had 'lived an opulent lifestyle'. 'We know that the Barangaroo man had been renting a penthouse in Barangaroo worth $18m for $37,000 a month,' he said. 'Yesterday, when we went thorough a safety deposit box, we located over $1m worth of luxury items, including watches and jewellery and cash. 'We did ask one of the alleged offenders what they did for a living, and he told investigators that he was a professional gambler.' Meanwhile, the second alleged ringleader, a 34-year-old man from Seaforth, faces 107 similar allegations. Among the charges are 87 knowingly deal with proceeds of crime allegations, 19 counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, and one count of participating in a criminal group. He was denied bail, and police allege he has committed a $4m fraud. Six people have already been arrested during this investigation, with the NSW Crime Commission seizing or restraining $18m in assets. Police put Wednesday's haul at $20m, taking the total value of seizures to $38m. The investigation began at the start of 2024 when police uncovered an alleged syndicate targeting vehicle financing companies in Sydney. The syndicate was allegedly using stolen personal information to apply for loans through various companies, for 'luxury 'ghost cars' that did not exist', the police spokesperson said. 'Ongoing investigations revealed the syndicate's operations extended well beyond car financing fraud to (alleged) large-scale personal, business and home loan fraud against multiple financial institutions.'
