Departing boss says charity remains in safe hands
Hannah Shead has been the chief executive officer (CEO) at Trevi for 13 years but said she was leaving the charity in "safe hands".
Ms Shead has helped grow the charity from a single service supporting about 30 women per year to an organisation with four centres and two outreach programmes.
The charity said Ms Shead had also been a committed campaigner for the women's sector and "the fight to end male violence against women and girls".
Ms Shead said it had been a difficult decision to leave her role.
"It's a charity that I love and have just enjoyed being part of for 13 years," said Ms Shead.
"I have reached a point where I'm ready for something different and the charity is in a strong place and is ready for a new season and for some new leadership."
She said the women working at Trevi helped others with "tenacity, courage, and compassion".
"The woman that work in the organisation walk alongside the women who have been through such trauma and are going through challenges," she said.
The charity said during Ms Shead's tenure, Trevi has received numerous accolades, including the GSK Impact Award in 2020 and the Westcountry Women's Award for Combatting Violence Against Women and Girls.
The charity said: "These achievements are a testament to her unwavering commitment and visionary leadership."
Ms Shead added: "I believe Trevi has been part of raising awareness about the needs of women.
"It is something we try and amplify the voices of those who can't speak out or don't get heard and I feel we have done that in the city and beyond and I'm really proud of the women who have been part of that.
"I feel Trevi is in safe hands, and I guess letting go will be difficult, but I feel excited to see what's next.
"I will be cheering on the side lines."
Amanda Greenwood has been appointed as Trevi's new CEO.

Mission to power ferries and boats with hydrogen power
A Jersey yachtsman hopes to reduce the maritime industry's emissions by using hydrogen power to fuel boats and ferries. Ocean racer Phil Sharp has used an £347,000 grant from the States of Jersey to develop a hydrogen-powered sailing boat. The plan now is for his company, OceansLab, to scale this sustainable technology to larger vessels, including ferries. "I have always been keen to push a new clean tech that we can adapt to the marine environment," he said. "This is the moment to try and kick-start the industry to demonstrate technologies that we can embrace for like inter-island ferries but also short sea shipping and longer-term, deep-sea shipping," he said. "My goal is to get this technology into real vessels and ships as quickly as possible in order to reduce the detrimental effect we are seeing from the maritime sector." OceanLab uses hydrogen fuel cells and solar panels. He said the company was currently trying to commercialise the technology in order to have a "greater environmental impact" and has recently moved into a production centre to start creating and assembling the technology to use. Mr Sharp also said the company has been visiting schools to teach them about clean energy on the island. New railway station for Devon town
A Devon town will get a new railway station after a "significant victory" in winning funding. A campaign to build a new station on the main line at Cullompton has been going on for years and campaigners say it is key to unlocking the building of 5,000 homes nearby in the Culm Garden Village development. The town's MP, Richard Foord, said there was an "irrefutable business case" for reopening the station and also welcomed the reopening of Wellington station further up the line in Somerset. The Chancellor made no mention of the scheme in the Spending Review on Wednesday but HM Treasury officials confirmed the funding to MPs later in the day. The new station will be built next to the motorway services at junction 28 of the M5. More news stories for Devon Listen to the latest news for Devon Follow BBC Devon on X, Facebook and Instagram.
