Four-star linebacker Brayden Rouse commits to Tennessee football over Texas, Alabama
On July 8, Rouse made his announcement alongside coaches and teammates at Kell High School in Marietta, Georgia.

Rouse, a 6-foot-3, 220-pounder, is among the top linebacker prospects in the country. He received scholarship offers from more than 40 FBS programs, including every SEC school except Arkansas.
He is ranked the No. 5 linebacker, No. 9 recruit in Georgia and No. 86 prospect overall in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports Composite.
Rouse is a versatile linebacker who thrives in pass rushing, run stopping and pass coverage. He has shown a comfort level as an edge rusher, linebacker and safety.

Rouse is Tennessee's 10th commitment since June 27.

UT now has 19 commitments in the 2026 recruiting class, led by five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon.
Defensive lineman Dereon Albert, edge rusher Zach Groves, wide receiver Tyreek King, offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda, tight end Carson Sneed and linebacker TJ White committed to the Vols. They are rated four stars by 247Sports Composite.
The class also includes cornerback Zay Anderson, offensive lineman Edward Baker, athlete Legend Bey, edge rusher CJ Edwards, edge rusher Kedric Golston, safety KJ McClain, linebacker Braylon Outlaw, defensive lineman Darryl Rivers, cornerback Javonte Smith, cornerback Jamyan Theodore and safety Luke Thompson. They are rated three stars.

'Oh, no way!' she shouted into the microphone. The England boss rapped with the Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, nailing every word in 'For My Hand', her most listened to song in 2023. They danced together, holding each other so tight, so tight, as the lyrics go, in front of 65,000 people lining the Mall and millions watching on live television. On the pitch at St Jakob-Park in Basel, less than 40 hours before, emotions were running high. Alessia Russo embraced a tearful Ella Toone, playing in her first tournament without her father Nick, who died last September, three days short of his 60th birthday. Beth Mead, whose mother, June, died in January 2023, has been a shoulder to lean on throughout this tournament. A spectacled elderly gentleman with a dark green coat and an England scarf around his neck sat on the London underground on Tuesday morning. He was heading to the Lionesses' homecoming, a portable folding stool leaned against his knee. Next to him was a young girl wearing a Lionesses shirt. Groups of tourists on foot and bike expecting to see the royals' residence at Buckingham Palace were instead treated to the queens of Europe, proper England football royalty. Some fans had arrived at 4am to claim their spot. The duo had a photo with Lauren James, goalkeeper Khiara Keating and Agyemang, which James captioned on social media: 'Past, present, future'. Jess Carter was the only squad member missing from the celebrations as she decided to return to National Women's Soccer League side Gotham for their fixture this weekend. Rachel Joseph persuaded her mum Lucy to attend. Asked what this England team means to them, Rachel became emotional. 'Oh my god,' she said. 'Oh, it's everything for women. To see females doing so well… for people like my daughter to see women out there do whatever they want and win it's…(Lucy, almost tearful, pauses)… it's so important for young girls.' Michigan State basketball offers 4-star SF Jalyn Collingwood
Michigan State basketball has extended an offer to a four-star small forward from Washington, D.C. Jalyn Collingwood announced on Monday that he's received an offer from the Spartans. Collingwood -- who plays for Sidwell Friends School -- announced the offer from Michigan State by posting on his social media X account. Collingwood is a four-star small forward prospect in the 2026 class, and holds a recruiting rating of 91.01 in 247Sports' composite system. He ranks as the No. 49 small forward and No. 150 overall prospect in the class, according to 247Sports. Michigan State is one of more than 10 schools to extend an offer to Collingwood, according to 247Sports. He also holds offers from Maryland, Mississippi State, Arizona State, Butler, Boston College, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Xavier, Murray State and Norfolk State. At the moment, it appears Maryland Mississippi State are the two leading favorites for Collingwood's commitment. He has a visit scheduled to Mississippi State in September and Maryland has a "warm" rating for his recruitment on 247Sports. DB Boo Carter with Vols but work to do before hitting field for Tennessee, coach says
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said Tuesday that sophomore defensive back Boo Carter is with the Volunteers as they start preseason practice. When Carter gets back on the field, however, remains to be seen after he reportedly missed workouts this summer. Heupel declined to get into details. 'Boo is a part of our team here,' Heupel said. 'There's some things that he's got to accomplish to get back on the field with us. Don't have a set timeline on that. Our leadership council has been a part of those things, those discussions with me and with Boo.' Heupel said he's proud of the leadership council. The head coach said he'll be the one handling all questions on Carter early in camp. Whether Carter would show for practice was a question amid reports about his conduct. Tennessee parted with quarterback Nico Iamaleava just before the spring game in April. Heupel said then that nobody was 'bigger than the Power T.' Carter made the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team for his play in 13 games, with five starts last season. He ranked sixth on the defense with 38 tackles, including 28 solo. He also led the SEC averaging 16.5 yards per punt return. Tennessee gave him work in the slot at wide receiver during spring practice, allowing Carter a chance to follow in the two-way footsteps of Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. The Vols need Carter with cornerback Jermod McCoy recovering from an ACL injured early this year. Quarterback competition The Vols start practice Wednesday needing a new starting quarterback with Iamaleava now at UCLA. Transfer Joey Aguilar, Jake Merklinger and freshman George MacIntyre all will be competing for the job for a program that made the College Football Playoff only to be routed by eventual champion Ohio State. Tennessee opens the season Aug. 30 in Atlanta against Syracuse. Offensive coordinator Joey Halzle said they are looking for a quarterback who can run the offense, not just throw the ball hardest or farthest. 'It's about who can operate this offense that when we take the field gives us a chance to win,' Halzle said.
