BATON ROUGE — LSU baseball weathered a five-plus hour weather delay before taking down Little Rock, 7-0, in its NCAA Tournament opener Friday night at Alex Box Stadium.
The win moved the No. 1 seed and host Tigers (44-14) into the winner's bracket in the Baton Rouge Regional where they'll play No. 2 seed Dallas Baptist Saturday night (8 p.m. CT, ESPNU).

DBU (41-16) beat No. 3 seed Rhode Island, 6-2, late Friday night to advance to meet LSU.

LSU's Daniel Dickinson hit two home runs in his team's victory over the Trojans as the Tigers amassed 11 hits in the win.
Against the Patriots, sophomore left-handed starter Kade Anderson is expected to get the ball. Anderson has been LSU's best pitcher all season long. He's 8-1 with a 3.54 ERA and hasn't lost a decision in six starts, including two straight wins over South Carolina and Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament.

After Minnesota went ahead 2-1 on Buxton's two-run homer in the third, Detroit tied the game in the bottom of the inning on Carpenter's homer.
