Aasif Sheikh and Yogesh Tripathi reflect on the scenes from their shows that ended up becoming a viral joke

Time of India10 hours ago
This International Jokes Day, we celebrate not just the joy of laughter but the legacy of scenes that transformed into iconic punchlines into moments that began on screen but quickly became part of everyday conversations and viral meme culture.
TV's most beloved actors, Aasif Sheikh (Vibhuti Narayan Mishra, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) and Yogesh Tripathi (Daroga Happu Singh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), reflect on the hilariously memorable scenes from their shows that unexpectedly became viral sensations.
Yogesh Tripathi, aka Daroga Happu Singh, shares, 'It's incredible how certain lines just catch on and become part of people's lingo! One of the most viral scenes is when Happu, exasperated, shouts, 'Arrey Dada, thand rakh!' The way I said it, with that perfect mix of sass and satire, just cracked people up.
I still hear fans shout it when they spot me! Another fan-favourite is when Happu proudly announces, 'Naam hai Daroga Happu Singh!' with that signature hair flick.
That scene quickly became a meme template, and people started recreating it with their twists. And of course, how can I forget the iconic line, 'Main 9 bachchon ka baap hoon!' That one never gets old. It's become a running joke that audiences just love. It shows how comedy, when it clicks, travels far beyond the screen, and becomes a part of real-life humour.'

Aasif Sheikh, aka Vibhuti Narayan Mishra, fondly reminisces, 'One scene that truly went viral was when Vibhuti flirtatiously tells Angoori Bhabi, 'I like it when you call me Nalle!' That line became so popular that people still send me memes and reels made on it. Then there's the ever-famous, 'Hello Bhabiji?'—delivered with that perfect mix of charm and mischief. Fans picked it up instantly, and now it's all over meme pages and social media.
Another gem is 'I am sarry'—Vibhuti's exaggerated English apology. It's been turned into a punchline for everything from relationships to work memes! The dry delivery and comic timing made it unforgettable. As an actor, there's no bigger reward than watching your dialogue live on, being shared, laughed at, and quoted across generations. It means the performance is connected, and that's the true magic of comedy.'

F1 Box Office Collection Day 5: Brad Pitt's racing drama accelerates past ₹28 crore in India

Brad Pitt's adrenaline-fueled racing film F1 is back on track after a brief slowdown, gaining momentum at the Indian box office. According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie earned ₹ 4.18 crore on Tuesday, bringing its five-day total to approximately ₹ 28.93 crore. Released on June 27, the film opened to a roaring start with a ₹ 21.4 crore weekend collection despite facing competition from domestic titles like Maa and Kannappa. While Monday saw a dip to ₹ 3.35 crore, Tuesday's improved performance signals strong weekday retention, likely driven by word-of-mouth and motorsport fans returning for repeat viewings. The movie recorded a solid 28.25% English occupancy across India on Tuesday, July 1, with footfalls peaking during the night shows. Morning Shows: 11.32% Afternoon Shows: 26.10% Evening Shows: 32.88% Night Shows: 42.68% Major metros such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Hyderabad continue to register the highest turnout. Directed by Top Gun: Maverick filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, F1 stars Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, and Tobias Menzies. F1 champion Lewis Hamilton, who also co-produces, makes a special cameo appearance. The film was made on a budget of $250 million and had its world premiere at New York's Radio City Music Hall on June 16. Produced by Plan B Entertainment, Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Apple Studios, and Dawn Apollo Films, F1 is being praised for its intense racing sequences and authentic depiction of the sport. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently revealed that Pitt and Idris underwent extensive training over four months to learn race car driving for the film.

Delhi LG Vinai Kumar Saxena Watches Umrao Jaan At Screening, Says THIS

New Delh : Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, hailed the Rekha starrer 'Umrao Jaan' after watching its remastered version in theatres on Tuesday. Delhi's LG Vinai Kumar Saxena attended the special screening of 'Umrao Jaan' along with its director Muzaffar Ali in Delhi. He was welcomed by the director at the screening of the remastered version of the film. Before watching the movie, Delhi's LG addressed the viewers and said that he has watched Umrao Jaan countless times due to its direction, story, songs and lyrics. Vinai Kumar Saxena praised Umrao Jaan after the screening, calling it a "unique" film which is difficult for filmmakers to make in today's time. "Umrao Jaan, which was made 44 years ago by Muzaffar Ali, has become such a unique film that it is very difficult to make it in today's time. This is the film in which every character has played a role. Music, lyrics, direction, everything is unique in this film," said Vinai Kumar Saxena. LG also labelled 'Umrao Jaan' as a career breakthrough film of Rekha. He said, "If I say this, it won't be wrong to say that Rekha became Rekha from this film. If it weren't for this film, Rekha wouldn't have been Rekha. I am sure that this film will become a milestone in the future, which will be remembered forever in the Mumbai film industry." Rekha won the National Award for her impeccable performance in the film as a courtesan-poetess in 19th-century Lucknow. Her graceful dance performance on 'Dil Cheez Kya Hai' is still admired and remembered by filmophiles. On the sidelines of the event, director Muzaffar Ali called 'Umrao Jaan' "timeless" and "ageless". While talking to ANI, he said, "I think the movie is timeless, it's ageless, it was meant for a time 150 years ago. So, it was meant to be a period film, and it has been true to the period. It is still vibrant and alive as that period would have been. So, that way, the film is, for me, full of nostalgia, full of memories, details and hard work." Director Ali also shared that he is willing to take the Umrao Jaan to the festivals and OTT platforms. "I think we'll take it to a festival route and then it will come to the OTT," said Muzaffar Ali. 'Umrao Jaan' is a classic Indian period drama that has been adapted into two film versions. The 1981 version, starring Rekha, is a cult classic and won four National Awards. The 2006 version, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, was not well received by the audience. Both films are based on Mirza Hadi Ruswa's novel Umrao Jaan Ada. It was re-released in theatres on June 27.

Ajith Kumar's 'AK64' likely to be announced in August 2025

(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Ajith Kumar fans may soon have reason to celebrate. According to a recent report by industry tracker Ramesh Bala, the official announcement for Ajith's next film, tentatively titled 'AK64', is expected to arrive in August 2025. After his last outing in 'Good Bad Ugly' earlier this year, anticipation around Ajith's next move has been steadily building. 'AK64' likely to begin post-racing season If reports are accurate, 'AK64' will be bankrolled by Romeo Pictures, the same production house that backed Ajith's earlier films like Viswasam and Vivegam. Though nothing is officially confirmed yet, the buzz suggests that director Adhik Ravichandran , who previously worked with Ajith on 'Good Bad Ugly', might be reuniting with the actor once again. Ajith's romantic pictures with his wife Shalini go viral Ajith had earlier made it clear that he would take up film projects only during the off-season of his racing career. Mohanlal-Ajith combo on the cards? Meanwhile, there are reports that the Malayalam superstar Mohanlal might join AK64 in a pivotal role. Reportedly, discussions are ongoing to bring the two iconic actors together for the first time. A collaboration between Mohanlal and Ajith Kumar would be nothing short of a treat for fans across South India. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo On the other hand, Mohanlal was recently seen in the Pan-Indian film 'Kannappa' which also stars Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Vishnu Manchu and many others in pivotal roles. The film is getting only mixed reviews from the audiences all over. While Ajith Kumar made his massive comeback with the recently released 'Good Bad Ugly', which received 3 3-star rating from ETimes with our official review that reads, "And in Adhik, he seems to have found the right director to pull it off. Adhik's films so far have been largely polarising - you either like his style of filmmaking or hate it, with no in-between. But his is definitely a unique voice, especially in the realm of our mass masala films - overloud (but in a very different way compared to someone like Hari) and visually distinct (but poles apart from a Karthik Subbaraj). It is cinema of maximalism, often breaking the third wall, peppered with throwbacks, and with only one goal - to deliver a high every few minutes. More than mass masala, it's max masala!"
