O'Reilly signals Trump ‘making a mistake' with Abrego Garcia stance
O'Reilly, speaking on his 'No Spin News,' said he thought Trump could be alienating the Supreme Court by not facilitating Abrego Garcia's return.
'The Trump administration's making a mistake not bringing the man back because the Supreme Court wants the man back,' O'Reilly said in comments highlighted by Mediaite. 'And if I'm President Trump, I don't want to alienate the Supreme Court, period.'
O'Reilly noted that Abrego Garcia is a Salvadoran citizen who is in the U.S. immigration system after a 2019 court order granted him permission to evade life-threatening conditions in El Salvador.
The Maryland man's deportation has become a flashpoint in American politics, with Democrats demanding he be returned.
The Supreme Court's order for the administration to 'facilitate' his return has led Trump officials to place responsibility with the Salvadoran government, which has said they will not be returning Abrego Garcia.
The battle also highlights the executive branch's struggle with judicial power as the case plays out in the courts.
O'Reilly was in favor of bringing Abrego Garcia back to the U.S. and letting the justice system handle the case.
Abrego Garcia has been under scrutiny from the administration for being involved with 'human trafficking' and the MS-13 gang. The Department of Homeland Security revealed he was suspected of human trafficking while pulled over for a traffic stop in Tennessee in 2022 while driving with eight other people.
'The authorities in Tennessee did not charge this guy, Garcia, with anything, but they caught him. No, he's not some guy cutting the lawn on Saturday in Maryland,' O'Reilly argued.
'But let the Justice Department prove it, and then you boot him,' he added.

Trump's Staffing Gaps Complicate India's Bid to Ease US Tensions
Indian officials have struggled to engage in diplomatic talks with President Donald Trump's administration because key foreign policy roles in Washington remain unfilled, people familiar with the matter said, making it difficult for New Delhi to effectively push for a trade deal and ward off the US leader's recent attacks against the nation. Several positions in the Department of State and the Department of Defense are vacant, which has made it harder for India to lobby its view, the people said, asking not to be identified to discuss a sensitive matter.
