Promising review:"I had never seen this before I bought it, and holy crap it changed my life. So. Much. Room. There is so much room left in my drawer now that I moved stuff from another drawer and I have an entirely empty drawer in my kitchen now. Promising review: " After seeing a TikTok where a woman demonstrated this mop to clean her walls, and hearing my boss raving about it, I decided to click the Amazon button. Let me tell you, I HATE cleaning, I HATE mopping, but I LOVE for things to be clean. I was able to mop the entire house TWICE (Because it was that dirty. Please don't judge.) within an hour. A few days later I mopped the entire house again within 10 minutes because they weren't quite as dirty. On another positive note, my boys love the spinner and think it's a toy! So, every time I get the bucket out my 10-year-old and 4-year-old ask to mop the house because they think it's fun. MAJOR BONUS!" — Molly

The soap / vinegar / baking soda, the expensive store bought 'hard water cleaners.' I've scrubbed for HOURS! But this…. This product is like magic. It's kind of like a paste that you can rub on with a microfiber towel and the hard water stains literally just RUB OFF. Like butter! Seriously the easiest option I have tried yet. I stopped within the first five minutes of cleaning to do this review because I'm in shock lol. Coming from someone who never writes reviews! Take that as a sign to buy this immediately. Promising review: "I was looking for something like this for a long time. It fits in my kitchen drawer easily. Best of all, it frees up pantry space, and I don't have to look at a jumble of different boxes on the top shelf or be concerned with them falling. The sliders on the plastic, foil and wax paper holders cut cleanly. On the foil, you do have to make sure the foil is flat against the slider bar, and all I do is give it a quick press along the bar and it is ready to be cut. This hold a lot of bags and wraps in a small space. I absolutely love the Calmbee storage bag and foil organizer!" — Eileen

Promising review:"After using this product, I am happy to report that my $5 investment saved me over $500. I was ready to replace my dishwasher due to super cloudy glasses, residue, and dishes just not getting clean. Then, I became aware that the water softener was no longer doing its job so I had the rental company replace it. Dishwasher performance improved somewhat. I decided to do two more loads before deciding to purchase a new one. I tossed one of the tablets into the bottom of the full machine per the instructions and ran the regular cycle. 13. The Bissell Little Green that works ✨wonders✨ on your couches, carpets, and other upholstery items since it magically removes dirt, stubborn stains, and any other nasty spills that have worked their way into your life.
Amazon, www.amazon.com
Promising review:"Faced with either replacing our dining room chairs or living with the daily reminder of how disgusting children (x3) can be, we decided to replace our chairs. Until we priced some new ones. Enter the Green Machine. This chair has never been cleaned (I know, we're gross). I sprayed the included magical solution, let sit 15 minutes for good measure, and voila. Sorcery. I read zero instructions, just plugged in, and went to town. I would recommend cleaning outside if your item is portable; it minimizes the spray on the floor. The dark grey liquid on the collecting side was evidence enough of the dirt and stain-removing powers. Don't second guess; this was <$100 when I purchased it, and while something with steam and heaters and all the gadgets, I am sure, is wonderful, bang for your buck on this one is a no-brainer. Definitely bought us another year or so before we pull the trigger on something new for the kids to ruin." — aih

14. An accordion-like pots and pan organizer to make the most of every inch you have in your lower kitchen cabinets. So when you bend all the way down to get that pan, it'll easily slide out and you won't have to do lots of rearranging.
Amazon

Promising review:"Finally, a solution to corral all of these freaking pot and pan lids! It expands perfectly to accommodate my 30" wide cabinet. Actually, it can go a little further than that, but it gets less stable when you exceed the maximum width. It also works great for smaller cabinets. I tried it out in a pull-out drawer that's approximately 24", and it serves its purpose well." — Nurse Bex
Get it from Amazon for $32.99.
15. A robot vacuum because sometimes sweeping Roscoe's shedding fur, getting the under-the-bed dust, and picking up all that dirt that your kids trek in from the backyard just... sucks. This is super slim so it can easily fit under your low furniture and it automatically returns to its charging station when it's running low on battery.
Promising review:"I should have bought one of these years ago! It's saving me time and effort to clean other stuff around the house. I've been pleasantly surprised how 'Pete' can make it over thresholds that separate our kitchen from the living area and one in the hallway. LOVE how he goes around our kitchen chairs and table and really gets under there to pick up crumbs! My floors look cleaner than they ever have! Go Eufy!" — Natalie M

16. A beanbag cover so you can keep all of your kid's plushies in one place rather than have them spread out all across their room. It can hold up to 80 12" stuffed toys or five standard pillows. Best of all, it makes a comfy place for sitting!
Promising review:"These are perfect for any kids' room! I was getting so tired of messy stuffed animals and blankets all over so it's nice to have them out of sight but still easily accessible. My 2-year-old loves to sit on hers and read books. She doesn't have a ton of stuffed animals so there is plenty of room to add to it for when her collection grows. I love the fun bright print and sturdiness — she drags it all over the ground but I don't worry about it tearing at all. Just what she needed in her room." — dd

www.amazon.com
YouCopia is a woman-owned small biz that makes ingenious home and kitchen storage solutions.
Promising review:"Do I really need a tea bag organizer? That's what I was thinking when I ordered this. And when I took it out of the box. And when I filled the first little bag holder. But as the pile of empty boxes grew larger, I knew the answer was yes, I do need a tea bag organizer. I was using a whole shelf and a half of jumbled tea boxes that I had to sift through to look for a specific tea. In the end, I think this held about eight or nine boxes of tea bags (I crammed some of them). I am so happy that I got this!" — Sarah C.

19. A flexible drain snake for when it's finally time to tackle that clogged shower drain. This has small micro hooks that grab onto hair easily, and even though the results will make you want to gag, this so comes in handy for those rare deep cleaning sessions.
This pack contains a reusable handle and five single-use heads you can just remove and dispose of after handling your clogged pipes.
Promising review:"Wow. Best thing ever. Seriously. I have had tweezers and sticks and plumbers and chemicals trying to get my master sink to drain. The plumber even said I needed an entirely new faucet to get the drain plug part because they don't sell those separately. Well, I have two sinks, a tub, and a shower that all match, so that was not a valid solution. Doubt I can find the same model. So I bought this thing, stuffed it down, and pulled up hair and black muck. Did it about eight times quickly, ran the water, went right down the drain. Seriously. This is the best tool ever and the best $20 I have ever spent. Everyone with a sink needs this tool. Seriously." — juliejules

Promising review: "Working in retail for a million years, I know how amazing these can be in keeping your life less chaotic! I put off ordering for months, and I'm mad at myself that I did because these beat a box of hangers hands down! I ordered two: one for dress/shirt hangers and one for skirt/pant hangers. They arrived today, seem to be made of the same metal that I've used in retail stores, appear to be sturdy, and are super easy to assemble! The only thing I had to stop and think about is which side of the base should face up. It comes with all the hardware and tools for assembly. A great buy!" — KatieLee333

www.amazon.com
Promising review: " Where has this wonderful duster been all my life? I purchased it after the recommendation of a friend. 27. A fume-free oven cleaner meant to tackle the most hard-to-remove buildup from last week's dinner that you just wish cleaned itself up. No more wasting money on weaker cleaning products; this stuff is literally called Easy-Off because it easily gets all the gunk off with a simple spray and swipe. New oven, who dis?
Promising review:"I HATE cleaning my oven and this is evident by the fact that I won't do it until it fills up with smoke when baking. I bought new appliances and I was meticulous about keeping the stove/oven clean by not using them. Well, when you're a mom, that kind of doesn't work, so I made sure to not have anything splash on the stove or in the oven when cooking and to immediately clean anything that got by me. That also only lasts so long when I work long hours, so I used to tell myself, "You'll clean it tomorrow". As you all know, that's code for someday. Weeks went by, and my stove needed cleaning, and I found the handy self-cleaning button. Let me tell you, that worked....the first time. I needed professional help the second time, so of course, I put that off until I couldn't. Got on Amazon and as I always do, I read the product description and instructions and then went straight to reviews on multiple self-proclaimed "best oven cleaners". This one was the one I decided to put my hard-earned money on, and it paid off! I sprayed everything the night before, and I was ready with my gloves and mask, but I didn't need them. There was no splash back when spraying and no overwhelming smell. Got up the next day, opened the oven, and 30 minutes later, it was brand new. I was so happy, and this is my go-to. I use it about once a month and do the self-clean in between. I've used it on the racks of my little toaster oven as well and the grime comes right off. I've included a before and after cause, I know pictures are worth a thousand words." — Sandra Stephens

28. A reusable pumice stone so you can easily scratch away at those yucky stains without leaving behind scratch marks in the bowl. Those regular plastic bristles are no match for this strong yet gentle cleaner that makes your porcelain throne look brand stinkin' new (minus the literal stink).
Promising review:"When we bought our previously owned condo, all three of the toilets had a permanent dark ring. I must have tried at least six different cleaning products that claimed to eliminate rings. None worked. I was actually considering buying new toilets as the ring was embarrassing to me. A friend recommended the pumice toilet bowl ring remover, and I was prepared to be disappointed again. But it worked perfectly. The ring is gone on all three toilets, and it only took a few minutes per toilet. I don't know when I have ever been so totally satisfied with a product. It just saved me a whole lot of money, and I am no longer embarrassed by the appearance of my toilets." — lynn mcdonald

Promising reviews: "I am speechless. I had burned on crud on the glass door inside of my oven. I literally took the product and put it on with a sponge, let it sit for 30 seconds, wiped it off with a hot watered paper towel, and it wiped clean! I regret not taking before and after pictures. I have tried everything under the sun and regret not trying this sooner. I was skeptical because I saw it on TikTok. BUY IT!!!!!! Can't wait to try it on the shower! [Best] stuff I've ever used!" — Courtney
" This is one of those 'changed my life' products that you come across every once in a while. I have tried so many different things to clean my clear glass shower door and just end up wasting time, money, and effort. The reviews and price of this product sold me on it. I love the smell (very subtle) and I used it with a basic sponge on my shower door. It did take a little effort but not bad and yielded amazing results. I then got excited about the other possibilities and have used it on the inside of my oven door with similar results. It's great. You won't be disappointed." — Amazon Customer

Rocco & Roxie Supply Company is a family-owned small business established in 2013 that specializes in pet odor eliminators, pet toys, pet snacks, and pet accessories.
Promising review:"I don't know how I ever survived without this. There are tons of 'pet stain/odor remover' products out there, but this, by far, is the absolute best. I cringed paying the $20 for it when others are between $5–$10, but I have NO ISSUES paying now. I foster dogs, some puppies, some older, some not housebroken, and every room in my house is carpeted except the kitchen, which means I have lots of accidents. I spray enough to saturate if it's a lot of urine, let it soak for 10 minutes, then wipe it up with a hand towel. Then I put a larger towel on top of it if it's in a high-traffic area until it's completely dry. It's taken out every stain, and more importantly, the odor is gone! I will never stop buying this product. I recommend it to everyone who has dogs!" — Shelley

14 Employees Who Got Revenge On Awful Bosses
Recently, I wrote up a Reddit thread asking people to share the final "eff you" they gave to their crappy bosses before finally quitting. The post was sooo petty and cathartic that it inspired even more stories from the BuzzFeed Community! Here are some that will make you feel seen if you've ever had to toil away at an awful job with a bad boss: "When I retired from state government, I changed my private phone greeting to say, 'This is answering your call from the bliss of retirement. If this is a personal call, please call me at home. [New Employee Name] has assumed my state government responsibilities, so if your call is about state government business, please go to [New Employee Name].'It took management most of a week to figure out how to change it, during which the phone never stopped ringing." "I have Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome and it was really acting up one day. My manager already didn't like me, and accused me of faking it when I told him I'd been throwing up. He sent me back into the kitchen, so I just waited a few minutes to get nauseous again, walked up to him in front of my other coworkers, and threw up on his shoes. He never questioned me again, and I made sure to get a note from my doctor saying I had to take breaks when I felt nauseous." "It was a small thing. My previous job was based on a federal requirement, which changed. I could see the writing on the wall and started looking. My boss at the time was a creep; at one point, he tried to get someone to meet a deadline by waving vaguely in the direction of me and his secretary and promising 'unspecified favors' (obvious innuendo).Soon after that year's government requirement had been fulfilled, my boss summoned me into his office and tripped over his own mouth trying to tell me I was being laid off. I've rarely been so satisfied as when I stopped him to hand over my two weeks' notice." "When I was younger I worked at a local fast food chain and did the afternoon/late night shifts. I had a manager who constantly sat in her office on the phone with her fiance (this was the early '90s). I was always scheduled alone and in the kitchen, and orders stacked up quickly without help. One night, after another hectic evening, after I had asked again for help, she closed her door in my face. I knocked on her door, took off my headset, and tossed it on her desk, and said I'd had enough. She yelled at me that I'd never work at this chain again. I said, 'damn right.' This is neither fantasy nor wishful thinking — I love that my younger self walked. Best thing I ever did for myself." "A few years ago I was hired at a doctor's office. He was condescending to me from the very beginning, but it all boiled over when one of his other (very few) employees announced she was pregnant and going on maternity leave. He flipped out and pulled me aside to discipline me for not knowing how to do things that his manager wife — who routinely threw me under the bus — didn't train me for. The doc yelled at me, saying something akin to 'the honeymoon phase is over.'" "I worked at a bank for awhile on the floor. I gave customers a heads up when I believed they weren't making good financial decisions, and steered them towards better products and services. I made top service and sales every month. I got promoted to another branch with more challenging ventures. The boss was recent college graduate with little to no financial experience, making him insecure, insulting, and mean. I was in the process of closing on my home and had just had enough of the guy. I found out my escrow signing date and gave my two weeks notice to coincide with that date. Boss tried to stop my home sale, but he found out that's illegal. I had a beautiful house, new job, and a big smile on my face. I heard the branch lost top sales for the rest of the year." "My mother was the head baker at the very upscale grocery store. A much younger, newly hired department manager took over the bakery. Because she was the oldest employee there, he made the mistake of harassing her in front of other employees for weeks. She finally got so fed up with the harassment that she clocked out, turned in her store keys in the middle of her shift and never went back. She effectively shut down the store bakery for a week. It took not one, but two people to replace my 67-year-old mother. She never went back. The department manager was fired." "Missed a shift as a barista but was able to get it covered. I was having horrible morning sickness during that time with awful headaches. I was told I needed a doctor's note to come back. I said, 'For pregnancy? Okay, I quit.' There was no policy regarding doctors' notes or when they are necessary. The only absent policy was to find coverage for your shift, which I did." "Six weeks ago, I spent 2.5 hours doing an online exit interview for the job I held for over six years. HR then turned my exit interview over to the University lawyers, who then interviewed me for 2 hours. There's currently an investigation going with that specific location in regards to sexual and racial discrimination. Had I just been left alone to do my job supervising, which I was very good at, none of this would have come to light. But they didn't, and I reported all of them. My new job is almost the same pay, exact same benefits, and so much less stressful." "I was a holiday hire at a bookstore chain. I worked hard, so I was kept on when the holidays finished. Later that year, my husband was laid off, so I asked to work full-time so that I'd qualify for health insurance for my family. The manager said sure and started scheduling me full-time hours. He said I'd hear from HR about insurance after a month. But two months went by, and nothing happened. I asked my boss and he said he'd look into it. Another month went by. Boss said HR was fixing it, and I'd hear back soon. After another month I called myself and learned this jackass kept me listed as 'seasonal' for an entire year because he already had the max number of full-time people allowed, but he didn't want me to quit and find benefits elsewhere, so he lied." "I was lured away to a small new startup company with promises of stock options and unlimited income. Nine months later, they laid off a bunch of us as they were losing money hand over fist, including for a corporate apartment that the owner was using to bed an investor. No notice, no payout, just buh-bye. I turned them in to a software pirating organization, since they were using single copies of high-end software throughout the company. A former coworker told me they spent tens of thousands of dollars ensuring they weren't sued." "I took a pay cut to open a granite showroom (same company) closer to my home, and I justified it because of tolls, gas, time etc. The owner of the showroom didn't do any market research, or even give me the prices of what I was supposed to be selling. I'd have to call him to ask a price for everything, and he made work incredibly difficult because I didn't have answers to common questions. I found out through another employee at the other location that he had posted my job, offered more money and promised benefits (which I was told, wasn't an option for me). After realizing how shady he was, I changed the computer password to 'F*uckyou[his name],' and took the mouse trap he'd me put out into the showroom's heating unit." "After 30+ years with an organization, providing honorable and selfless service, I was asked to fire one of my directors, who frankly had been placed on a fairly rigorous WIP — and successfully accomplished all goals and expectations. It seemed her 'firing' would have been a 'tit for tat' in a urinating match between the CFO and COO. I was told it would be this director or me to take the fall. Luckily I had eff you money and told my COO he would receive my office keys, badge, etc. by the end of the day." "I was the only project manager for a startup. I also fulfilled multiple other roles due to my previous experience, but I was the only one working on the very technical project that was going to take the business to the next boss had a habit of screaming at employees and we had about a dozen employees walk out for about the year and a half that I worked there. I told him if he ever screamed at me, I would walk out too. One day, he yelled at me for a mistake he told me to make to the software. I gathered my things and his face went white as a sheet. I told him I was quitting and he said in the smallest voice, 'you can come back.'" Did you ever enact petty revenge on a crappy boss? Share your story in the comments. That blank look you're getting? It's called the 'Gen Z stare'
There's a fight simmering on TikTok over the 'Gen Z stare' — the blank look some young adults might give you when you talk to them. Why it matters: Depending on who you ask, the stare either means the Zoomer in question thinks you're a total moron — or that kids today don't have social skills. How it works:"It is this blank, deer-in-the-headlights stare that you guys have and it's like, 'oh my god is a real live person talking to me," one TikTokker said. "We're not talking about the stare that everyone gives a boomer," she clarifies. The stare is particularly common among customer service workers, judging from the online videos. Zoom out: "If you spent your formative years on Zoom, you didn't get much exposure to learning how people give each other visual cues that they're listening," said Kate Lindsay, a millennial, who wrote about the stare on her Substack, Embedded. The other side: Gen Z says the blank look is their response when someone says something baffling and/or stupid — like asking if there's banana in a strawberry banana smoothie. Plus, they just don't like small talk. Reality check: Teens and 20-somethings have long considered their elders to be cringe-worthy idiots. The big picture: The fight is the next chapter in the generational war playing out on TikTok between millennials and their young rivals. The bottom line: The younger generations are fighting among themselves — over something that may or may not be real.

The Best Lunch Boxes For Kids, According To Editors Who've Packed Them For Years
Packing lunches for my kids is a task I don't always look forward to. After packing hundreds of lunches over the years, I've found that the best lunch box for kids can actually simplify the whole process. The best options are appropriately sized, easy for kids to open and well insulated to help keep their food at the proper temperature. My top pick, the PackIt Freezable Classic Lunch Box , has built-in ice packs, opens with a zipper little fingers can grasp easily and is available in lots of kid-friendly designs. Here are the best lunch boxes for kids that are cute and easy to use. ILLUSTRATION: FORBES / PHOTO: RETAILERS Other top picks include the Bentgo Kids bento box, which is durable and has leak-proof compartments, and the Pottery Barn Kids Mackenzie , a classic option that's easy to clean and available in a variety of fun prints and colors. Check out more of our top picks for the best lunch boxes for kids. Our Top Recommendations Best Overall Lunch Box For Kids: PackIt Freezable Classic Lunch Box Best Value Lunch Box For Kids: Thermos Upright Lunch Box Most Durable Lunch Box For Kids: L.L. Bean Lunch Box Best Bento Lunch Box For Kids: Bentgo Kids Lunch Box Best Stainless Steel Lunch Box For Kids: PlanetBox Rover Best Lunch Box For Kids For Hot Foods: Omiebox Up Best Lunch Box For Kids In Preschool: Wildkin Kids Insulated Lunch Box Best Personalized Lunch Box For Kids: Pottery Barn Kids Mackenzie Lunch Box Amazon PackIt Freezable Classic Lunch Box Keeping your child's lunch at the proper temperature is important for food safety, and this can be difficult especially if your child has a late lunch or they're storing their lunch box in a warm area. The built-in ice packs in the PackIt Freezable Classic Lunch Box solve this problem. 'What I really like about it and why I keep buying these year after year for my three school-age kids—since their preschool days—is that it actually keeps food cold all day even on hot summer camp or classroom days,' says Forbes Vetted deputy editor Rose Gordon Sala . After years of use, she has also found this lunch box to be durable. The size is generous, especially when you consider that you don't need to add any ice packs. It has a front zipper pocket for napkins or small items as well as a buckle handle so you can clip it to your child's backpack. It's available in lots of fun colors and designs, which is important to kids of all ages. The biggest drawback of this lunch box is that you have to remember to put it in the freezer the night before. If you forget to clean out your child's lunch box until the next morning, it won't be ready to go. You can still use it, of course, but you'll have to add ice packs. Thermos Brand Thermos Upright Lunch Box I've been really impressed with the Thermos Upright Lunch Box after testing it out recently. There's enough room to pack a well-portioned lunch, and the water bottle holder and zipper pocket are nice touches. It's easy to fit and organize everything I need in my daughter's lunch, including her drink and napkins. It's an insulated box that also has a hard liner. As a busy mom who cleans out lunch boxes every day, the hard liner makes it so much quicker to wipe, clean and clear out any crumbs. It also has a buckle handle, so you can attach it to your child's backpack. The only major drawback is that it's only available in six colors, but many of these include fun and bright prints that kids like, such as Black Sport Web and Teal Marble. The L.L. Bean Lunch Box is a staple in many homes, and that's largely because it lasts for years. Part of what makes it so durable is the quality construction and the strong outer material that you'll also find on L.L. Bean backpacks . It has a top carry strap making it easy for your child to grab if it doesn't fit in their backpack. With a front zipper pocket and an interior mesh pocket, there are plenty of spaces to store extras like napkins, cutlery and a special note for your child. You can also use the internal mesh pocket to store an ice pack. It's pretty spacious inside and has an easily wipeable interior liner. Available in 11 colors, the insulated box can also be personalized with your child's monogram. Amazon Bentgo Kids Lunch Box With five leak-proof sections, the Bentgo Kids lunch box makes it easy to add some variety into your child's lunch. My daughter used this lunch box often when she was in kindergarten, and it has held up so well that it hardly looks like it's been used. It has definitely been dropped multiple times, and it never popped open or leaked food from one compartment to the next. I like to pair it with the Bentgo Kids Lunch Bag , which makes it easy for kids to carry to school thanks to multiple straps and clips. The bento box itself has a removable tray that's dishwasher and microwave safe. My daughter has no problem opening and closing the latches on it, though I would definitely recommend practicing with your child before sending them to school with it for the first time. As a 6-year-old, this lunch box held enough food for my daughter, but I doubt it will be large enough for much longer. For older kids, check out the Bentgo Pop , which allows for larger portion sizes. I love using stainless steel lunch boxes because I prefer to stay away from plastic when I can, which is why the PlanetBox Rover is one of my favorite options. It has five compartments and I've found that the largest compartment is big enough to hold a sandwich. Even though it's stainless steel, kids can still customize the look by choosing a magnet set they like as well as a carry bag (sold separately). While it's not a leak-proof option, the box does come with two stainless steel containers with lids, so you can pack dips or sauces that won't spill. Practice opening the box and the containers with younger kids before sending them off to school to make sure they can open them. The dishwasher safe box is sturdy, and I've never had it pop open when I dropped it. Forbes Vetted editor Esther Carlstone likes the Rover because it's so durable and easy to clean. 'All three of my kids have their own Rover and it's their go-to lunch box. One box we've used for 10 straight years and it still looks and acts good as new,' she says. 'Cleaning them is also super easy, we even toss them into the dishwasher.' The Omiebox Up is a bento-style lunch box that's a great option for hot foods because it includes a 12-ounce thermos. It also has another compartment with an ice pack that fits right in the box, so you can pack some cold food, too. The cold side includes a removable divider, allowing you to pack two different options. While the lunch box as a whole is leak-proof, the divider is not. 'I like that it's all-in-one so you're not packing several different containers for one lunch,' says Carlstone, who uses this lunch box to pack items like pasta and soup. The container is easy for kids to open and close, just be careful not to shut the thermos too tight, especially for younger kids. It's available in a few different colors, including Cherry Pink and Cosmic Blue. My daughter used the smaller Omiebox to bring mac and cheese or tortellini to kindergarten, and it was a great size for that age. Older kids will definitely want the larger Omiebox Up, though. Amazon Wildkin Kids Insulated Lunch Box When choosing a lunch box for your preschooler, think simple. 'Give them practice opening and closing their lunchboxes independently. Find out how long the lunch period is and practice eating in that amount of time, including the amount of time needed to open and close it,' says registered dietitian Jennifer Anderson. As long as they can open a zipper, they should be good to go with the Wildkin Kids Insulated Lunch Box. There are over 50 fun prints to choose from, helping preschoolers get excited about their first packed lunch experience ( shop other print options here ). My kids have used this lunch box a lot, and it's a great basic option. A front zipper pocket and interior mesh pocket provide plenty of room for packing extras. It also has a top handle to make it easy to grab. The lunch box is the ideal size for preschoolers, and though it's on the smaller side, it can fit some bento boxes. Personalizing school supplies is incredibly exciting, particularly for the elementary crowd. The Pottery Barn Kids Mackenzie is available in so many adorable prints, like Iridescent Hearts and Lego, and kids can add their name or initials in a variety of fonts. The insulated bag has a molded liner that makes it easy to wipe clean of crumbs and spills. It also includes an interior pocket, an exterior pocket and a water bottle holder. The top strap is padded, making it comfortable for their little hands to carry to and from school. While the Mackenzie lunch box is ideal for younger kids, older kids might like the more subdued Colby Lunch Box . Sala's tweens prefer this cold pack style over the more cutesy Mackenzie styles. At Forbes Vetted, the baby and kids gear team has decades of experience covering baby and kid topics, testing products and packing lunches for our kids. She's also a mom to three and has over a decade of experience packing lunches for her kids in many of the lunch boxes on this list. I interviewed registered dietitian and founder of Kids Eat In Color, Jennifer Anderson . To choose the best lunch boxes for kids, I relied on expert advice, personal experience and product research. Here's a peek into my process. I've been using lunch boxes for years, including many of the ones on the list. I've seen how they hold up over time and how well they function in the real world, being carted to school, sports, activities and back. I considered input from parenting editors Sala and Carlstone, two moms who have used many of the lunch boxes on the list as well. Anderson provided insight on what makes a good lunch box as well as which ones she has used and found helpful. I compared features of various lunch boxes, considering size, pockets, insulation and more. To cater to a variety of needs and types of families, I included different types of lunch boxes, including bento style boxes and traditional lunch boxes. Your lunch box should be the right size for your child. Some smaller lunch boxes, especially bento boxes, can have a smaller capacity that may not be appropriate for older kids. Age recommendations on lunch boxes are helpful, but consider your child's appetite as well when deciding what size is best for them. Consider how you'll keep your child's lunch cold, too. 'Send packed lunches with two ice packs, one on the top and one on the bottom, inside a sleeve or insulated lunchbag,' says Anderson. Make sure the bag is large enough to include ice packs along with the lunch. Material 'Lunch boxes are typically made from stainless steel, BPA-free plastic and silicone—all excellent options that hold up well,' says Anderson. While plastic tends to be more lightweight, it can be a bit more difficult to clean compared to stainless steel. Many fabric lunch bags are made of polyester or a similar material with a wipeable inner lining. Ease Of Use The biggest consideration when it comes to ease of use is how easily your child can open and close their lunch box. Particularly for younger kids, taking time to make sure they can open their lunch box is very important. You don't want them to struggle to get to their food when they're hungry. Most preschoolers and young elementary schoolers do fine with zippers on traditional lunch boxes, but bento boxes can be more difficult to open. Ease Of Cleaning Packing, unpacking and cleaning lunch boxes can feel relentless. Having a lunch box (or two) that's easy to clean makes life much easier. Some bento boxes are dishwasher safe or have removable compartments that can go in the dishwasher. For lunch bags, look for options that are easily wipeable. What Are The Best Lunch Boxes For Kids? Our top picks for the best lunch boxes for kids include the PackIt Freezable Classic Lunch Box, Thermos Upright Lunch Box and L.L. Bean Lunch Box. All three options are sized well for kids, easy for kids to open and insulated. What Is The Best Material For A Kids Lunch Box? The best material for kids lunch boxes is easy to clean. Plastic, stainless steel and fabric options are all great. When shopping for bento boxes, look for options that are dishwasher-safe. What Is A Good Packed Lunch For Kids? A good packed lunch for kids is balanced, including protein, fruit, vegetables, grains and dairy. However, it's also important to pack things your child will actually eat so they have sustenance to carry them through the day. It's best to pack safe foods in their lunch and save new or adventurous foods for another time.
