NYC Summer Streets 2025 runs the length of Manhattan today. See the list of closures.
The NYC Department of Transportation says city residents can traverse the length of Manhattan, from the Brooklyn Bridge to Inwood, for the first time in the program's history.
The Summer Streets program has been expanding since it started in 2008. The popular city initiative, with events in all five boroughs this year, shuts downs streets to vehicle traffic and opens them to pedestrians and bikers alike on select Saturdays during the season.
"The usual traffic noise and honking horns will be replaced by open streets teeming with walkers, bikers, runners, and performers. Discover a wealth of free cultural programs, performances, fitness classes, interactive art, giveaways, and much more as you experience the city in a whole new way," the NYDOT website says.
Summer Streets 2025 continues in Manhattan on August 9 and 16, followed by Brooklyn and the Bronx on August 23. It kicked off last weekend in Queens and Staten Island.
Activities are planned from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Summer Streets program is in addition to the city's "Open Streets" throughout the year.
NYC DOT says Park Avenue, north of 125 Street, and most adjacent avenues will remain open to motor vehicles during Summer Streets in Manhattan.
The following streets are closed Saturday at the NYPD's discretion, according to NYC DOT.

She famously had a falling out with executive producer Andy Cohen, though as PEOPLE exclusively revealed in November 2024, the two had squashed the beef. Certainly that's what viewers saw on his late night show. Entering into Cohen's Clubhouse after a game of 'Mystery Housewife Caller,' Radziwill greeted her former boss with a big grin and an enthusiastic hug. "It's Carole Radziwill!" Cohen told guests Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, giving her a round of applause. "Making a triumphant return! Good to see you!" Radziwill, for her part, took a moment to get used to her surroundings. "This is so crazy, by the way, to be here," she admitted, looking around. "I know, it's been a minute! Radzi, it's been a minute!" Cohen told her, using his nickname for her. Yang and Rogers then showered Radziwill with praise. "We're honored to be here for you coming back," Rogers said. "One of the things that made me fall in love with Housewives. I remember, season 7, when you went on the vacation with Dorinda [Medley] and you were both connecting over your [dead husbands], that was really when I was first truly moved by a Housewives show. Before the series ended, Radziwill plugged her upcoming appearance on CNN's upcoming three-part documentary American Prince about her cousin, John F. Kennedy, Jr. It airs Aug. 9. "It's nice because I don't participate in a lot of that, but I had a chance to say something nice about John and George [magazine]," she said. "I'm probably the only woman in the world who's tired of seeing John without a shirt on, so I get to talk about what really mattered to him and his passion and his magazine and of course, Carolyn [Bessette-Kennedy]." Cohen and Radziwill were friends before she joined the cast of RHONY in season 5, which aired in 2012. The two appeared to be friendly during her years on the show, but things between them became fractured as her friendship with Bethenny Frankel fell apart. For years, the two only communicated while trading jabs in the press and on social media. But at Bravo Fan Fest 2024 in November, Cohen told PEOPLE that he and Radziwill had "reconnected" after six years of not speaking. "It feels great," the 57-year-old father of two said at the time. "Carole and I knew each other for years, before she was ever on the Housewives — for many years. I think I've known her more outside of the Housewives than I have in the Housewives. So it was definitely good to reconnect." Speaking with PEOPLE soon thereafter, Radziwill, 61, said she was glad she and Cohen had finally talked. "We both came to understand that our disagreements had everything to do with the high-pressure nature of the show and very little to do with our friendship, which preceded it," she said. Livvy Dunne might be an NIL trailblazer turned social media influencer, but not everyone appreciates her fast-paced lifestyle. The former LSU gymnast was recently shut out from buying a well-known New York City property. She said the residents may not want a public figure living in the building. She's not alone in her pursuit of a great view of the Big Apple. But the property in question is a no-go for Dunne. The unit at 345 W. 88th St belonged to MLB legend Babe Ruth during his time with the New York Yankees. The three bedrooms, two and a half bath floor plan features oak floors with the current owners reportedly having outgrown the space, according to reporter Khristopher J. Brooks. "Own a piece of New York City sports history in this expansive three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom co-op once owned by the Yankees' Sultan of Swat," said a listing description for the property. For $1.59 million, it's "Currently configured with two bedrooms, this residence offers a wealth of storage, handsome built-ins, and an exceptionally spacious layout that can easily accommodate the addition of a third bedroom" Dunne became the latest person to get rejected from buying a co-op unit in NYC. She joins a growing list who want to keep well-known figures out. According to Brooks, Antonio Banderas, Madonna, Richard Nixon, Mariah Carey, Calvin Klein and others are at the top of the list. But why? "Co-op boards in New York City are a breed of their own," real estate agent Kirsten Jordan told Brooks. "Trust me, even if you have a rock-solid bank account, they can still say 'thanks, but no thanks' for reasons you'd never expect." Dunne was heartbroken to find out her dream pad was unavailable after she tried to pay with an all cash offer. After leaving LSU the top NIL earner picked up a longtime gig as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. She performed at this year's show in Miami, busting out the splits on the catwalk in an instant viral moment."Then the week that I'm supposed to get my keys to my brand-new apartment, I get a call," Dunne said in a social media video posted July 8. "The co-op board denied me. So, pretty much, the people in the building voted to not have me live there." For now, Dunne is still in search of her ultimate NYC pad.
