MKF seals strategic partnerships for Takeoff career expo
Scheduled to take place on June 28 at the Foundation's headquarters, The Takeoff exhibition has been designed as an immersive platform combining career counseling, academic advising, and skill-building opportunities, all geared toward equipping the youth with the capabilities needed to progress professionally in today's dynamic job market.
It will be held under the patronage of Shaikha Zain bint Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation's Board of Trustees.
As part of its preparations, MKF has signed agreements with the Education Zone, and Mubasher Capital. These agreements underscore a shared commitment to delivering comprehensive and forward-thinking learning experiences to high school students aged 16 to 18.
Commenting on the occasion, Shaikha Zain said: "At MKF, we strive to curate educational experiences that inspire innovation and leadership among young people. These partnerships represent a meaningful step toward equipping students with the resources and guidance necessary to shape their future with clarity and confidence, while fostering a generation ready to play an active role in the advancement of our nation."
The exhibition will feature a range of specialised sessions delivered by representatives from partner organizations.

Al Salam-BSB merger talks
Bahrain-based banks Al Salam Bank-Bahrain (ASBB) and Bahraini Saudi Bank BSC (BSB) have engaged in serious discussions to merge the two institutions. Director and CEO of ASBB Yousif Taqi and the CEO of BSB Khalid Shaheen confirmed that both institutions have retained M/s KPMG as independent adviser to the transaction. The CEOs of the two banks stated that the process of due diligence and evaluation is on schedule and is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. Upon receipt of independent advisers' recommendations, the boards of the two banks will meet separately to agree the share exchange ratio. Mr Shaheen stated that regulators and shareholders of BSB would be approached for their respective approval this month. ASBB is also expected to pursue a similar course of action according to Mr Taqi.

DXB expects over 3.4m guests this summer
Dubai International (DXB) is entering a period of sustained peak operations, with more than 3.4 million guests expected to travel through the airport between 27th June and 9th July 2025, reported WAM. Daily volumes are forecast to average over 265,000 with the busiest day on 5 July for both departures and transfer traffic. Dubai Airports, alongside its stakeholders, has activated an integrated summer readiness plan to ensure guest journeys remain safe and efficient. While the wider regional situation has led to some delays and cancellations across the network, the oneDXB community has been working around the clock to support guests, provide welfare, and maintain service continuity. Supported by a real-time monitoring and predictive system to optimise manpower and resource utilisation. DXB continues to monitor the situation in close coordination with authorities and airline partners, prioritising the safety of all guests and employees on the ground and through to take-off.
