MMA Star Signs With Hulk Hogan's New Freestyle Wrestling Promotion
It was announced earlier this year that WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff were joining forces once again to open a brand new wrestling promotion, and they have officially added another big name to their roster.

The MMA fighter is none other than Bo Nickal. The 29-year-old from State College, Pennsylvania. He has a record of two wins and zero losses in his amateur career. Nickal turned pro back in 2022. Up until last year, he remained undefeated with scoring seven straight victories.
Last year, Nickal suffered his first and only loss to the Dutch Knight, Reinier de Ridder, via TKO. Now, it looks like Nickal is looking to test his luck in Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff's Real American Freestyle Wrestling.
While speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Nickal revealed that he will be entering the world of wrestling via Real American Freestyle next month.
'I'm gonna be pursuing something new, pursuing something different that's maybe a little bit foreign to a lot of the MMA fans that listen to this show. But there's this lesser-known sport called wrestling — it's a really great base for professional MMA.

'I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring and doing some professional wrestling matches with Real American Freestyle promotion. So, Aug. 30, I'll be competing in Cleveland, Ohio, and putting the singlet and shoes on and seeing how it goes. I'm excited,' Bo Nickal said. [H/T Sherdog]
Real American Freestyle Wrestling's debut event will take place on August 30 in Cleveland.

UFC 318: Daniel Rodriguez thrilled to flip script into a three-fight winning streak
NEW ORLEANS – Daniel Rodriguez got everything he expected, and some parts he didn't remember, when he finally got the chance to face Kevin Holland. Rodriguez (20-5 MMA, 10-4 UFC) and Holland (29-14 MMA, 15-11 UFC) have been on a collision course since 2020, when their first of many fight bookings fell through. At UFC 318, both made it to the cage at Smoothie King Center, and a Fight of the Night-worthy battle unfolded. "That fight went exactly how I imagined it would have played out, given it's Kevin Holland, you know?" Rodriguez told reporters at a post-fight news conference. "Crazy ass dude. I was excited to get this matchup, and I only had three and a half weeks to prepare for it." Rodriguez caught everyone's attention when he rocked and nearly finished Holland with punches in the second round. He swarmed for the finish, but was aware that Holland is tough to put away, so he didn't want to completely empty the tank for a moment that may not have come. Despite nearly finishing the fight, Rodriguez found himself on the receiving end of damaging strikes as Holland nearly found a finish of his own. "I don't even remember that happening," Rodriguez said with a laugh. "I don't know. I was like, 'What? I got rocked?'" The big takeaway for "D-Rod" is that he's now on a three-fight winning streak, having entered after wins over Alex Morono and Santiago Ponzinibbio, and is now knocking on the door of the welterweight rankings. It's a big turnaround from a three-fight skid from 2022-24. "It's all momentum," Rodriguez said. "The first one was the start of it. The second one, knockout. This one is even bigger, probably one of the biggest wins of my career. It's all momentum from here. It means everything to me. It's my blood, sweat and tears every single day. So, the fact that I'm in the position I'm in right now, it's like a career revival to me. I'm all-in. I've always been all-in, but I'm here to stay."

Dana White Won't Risk Jon Jones Headlining UFC White House Event

Jones's hopes of competing on that card were dashed on Saturday at the UFC 318 post-fight press conference when UFC Dana White told Jones, thanks, but no thanks. "I can't risk putting him in big positions in a big spot and have something go wrong," White said after Saturday's UFC 318. "Especially the White House card." Not long after hearing White's comments, Jones expressed disappointment on social media, but said he was going to continue to train for a UFC fight. "I heard the comments made at last night's press conference. While I was a little disappointed, I'm still in the UFC's drug testing pool, staying sharp, and continuing to train like a professional. I'll be ready for whatever comes next. "In a recent interview, I shared that the opportunity to fight at the White House gave me something deeper to fight for, a 'why' that goes beyond paychecks or belts. For a card to fall apart, and how many cards have fallen apart because Jon Jones gets in trouble for something? So no, I'm not at that place with him.' Ryback Defends CM Punk After He Apologized And Competed In Saudi Arabia
Ryback coming to CM Punk's defense in 2025 probably wasn't on many wrestling fans' bingo cards this year. WWE Superstar CM Punk has come under fire from critics and fans following his appearance in Saudi Arabia this week, where he apologized for a six-year-old tweet and competed against John Cena in the main event of Night of Champions. Surprisingly, one of Punk's biggest detractors of the last decade, former WWE Superstar Ryback, has come to his defense today on social media in response to an opinion piece, tweeting out: 'I've had my issues with Punk, but I don't see him as a sellout.
