Ravens WR Zay Flowers needs touches to remain untouchable
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers is the best of the bunch on the team roster, and it's not even debatable. Still, with the addition of wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and the emergence of Rashod Bateman, Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken must be sure not to shy away from targeting Flowers as the primary in the passing game.
With so many weapons on offense, including a dual-threat rushing attack in quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry, it will be vital to draw a line of demarcation early on. Probabilities and the opponent's strategy, of course, will play a part in how Monken can distribute the football. However, Flowers, having sadly missed the 2025 NFL Playoffs with a knee injury, still finished the season with a 14.3 yards per catch average. Proving himself to be a key element in Jackson's incredible total passing yard totals last season.
Big plays of 20-plus yards, including those as a result of yards after catch, have allowed Flowers to pose as a serious threat to opponents. Ravens' opponents know that they must account for the run, so Monken needs to commit to the run while keeping Flowers targeted in moderation. Ultimately, Monken needs to shy away from four-wide receiver sets and prioritize by allowing Flowers to operate as both a slot and sole Z (boundary side) wide receiver, where he can operate in space. Flowers needs his touches, and Monken must make his targets in the offensive attack meaningful.

While many of the Baltimore Ravens players have certainly excelled on the football gridiron, some of the NFL athletes apparently struggle in the swimming pool. After defensive back Marlon Humphrey and some of his Ravens teammates admitted they did not know how to swim, the team turned to a local expert for guidance. Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, certainly knows a thing or two about swimming techniques. Humphrey posted a social media video calling on the retired competitive swimmer and Baltimore native to lend the city's football team a helping hand. The video showed Humphrey, safety Kyle Hamilton, offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley, and tight end Charlie Kolar standing in the pool. 'Did you know that one in three Ravens cannot swim,' Hamilton said in the video. In his first season with the Browns, Jerry Jeudy established himself as the top receiver among the corps, leading the pass catchers with 90 receptions for 1,229 receiving yards. They also have young players in Cedric Tillman, David Bell, Jamari Thrash, and Michael Woods II. The tight end room is led by David Njoku, who had the second-most receptions for the Browns in 2024 with 64 for 505 receiving yards and five touchdowns over 11 games. He started five consecutive games beginning in Week 13, and during that stretch, the Browns went 4-1 with Flacco at quarterback. His tenure was highlighted by the Week 17 win over the Jets on Thursday Night Football that officially clinched their playoff berth – their first playoff appearance since 2020. While in Cleveland, Flacco completed 123 of 204 passing attempts for 1,616 passing yards and 13 touchdowns during the regular season. How did the Browns approach the NFL draft? The Cleveland Browns' 2025 draft class includes: DT Mason Graham (Round 1), LB Carson Schwesinger (Round 2), RB Quinshon Judkins (Round 2), TE Harold Fannin Jr. (Round 3), QB Dillon Gabriel (Round 3), RB Dylan Sampson (Round 4), and QB Shedeur Sanders (Round 5). The Browns traded down from the #2 pick in the first round, acquiring additional picks in the process. They also traded up in the fifth round to select Shedeur Sanders.
