Major city road sealed off by cops & ambulance crews amid ‘police incident'

A BUSY city centre street in Edinburgh has been locked down this morning amid a "police incident".
Emergency crews raced to Princes Street in the capital which is currently closed it off to the public.

Several cop cars and an ambulance were spotted at the scene.
The busy street has also been sealed off from the Hanover Street junction.
Early morning commuters were warned about disruption on buses and trams.
A number of key bus routes have been forced to divert.
Lothian Buses notified customers: "Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve part of Princes Street and are instead diverted via Frederick Street, George Street and South St David Street eastbound until further notice."
And the trams are only running part route between West End and Edinburgh Airport.
Edinburgh Trams wrote on X: "Due to a Police Incident, Princes Street is closed.
"We are part route between West End and Edinburgh Airport in both directions. Ticket acceptance is in place with Lothian Buses."
The nature of the incident is unknown.
Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.

The unemployed Brit, who battles depression, revealed how he was bombarded with dozens of eerily convincing videos from bogus celebrity accounts. Some fraudulently posed as tech titans Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. But it was a phoney Aniston who finally fooled him after sending what looked like her driving licence. The fraudster also told Paul she 'loved him' before asking for money. Paul said: 'I've had fake videos from Jennifer Aniston saying she loves me and asking for £200. I believed it – and I paid.' The cruel scam saw him send £200 worth of non-refundable Apple gift cards to the supposed Hollywood sweetheart. 'I got bitten,' he added. 'Once bitten, twice shy.' The shocking con is part of a terrifying rise in AI-powered scams, with crooks creating scarily real deepfake clips of celebs to trick unsuspecting victims out of their cash and private info. Paul says he's been relentlessly harassed for months, receiving fake messages every day claiming he's won everything from mega cash prizes to a flashy Range Rover. My mum's being scammed by an AI deepfake of 'Owen Wilson' who paid her £7 to 'prove' his identity - would you fall for it? One video even showed a fake Zuckerberg declaring: 'This is not a scam - believe me' while flashing a dodgy ID. Another sent him a bogus 'certificate from Facebook' claiming he'd scooped £500k and a luxury motor. 'They make it look so real,' Paul said. 'It's been going on for five months. I thought someone would get in trouble for this, but they seem to be having a laugh – and getting away with it.' Worryingly, Paul says he's not the only one falling victim. He revealed: 'Someone I know's lost over a grand in Apple gift cards to these scams." The cruel romance con lasted over a year, costing Anne her fortune, her marriage, and her mental health. Eventually a crack team discovered the scammer's identity, his Nigerian base, and 34 other victims. Meanwhile, another woman put out a call for help after noticing her mum fall for an AI deepfake scam of Owen Wilson. The unnamed woman took to Reddit, revealing both she and her sister had failed to convince her mum that the man she was chatting to was not the real actor. She decided to share the AI deepfake video her mum had been sent by 'Owen Wilson' with the title 'Owen Wilson befriended my mother.'

They were recorded since the start of 2024 and also show that 24 of the 43 confiscations took place at primary schools, with a butterfly training knife, pocket knife and a Stanley knife among the weapons found. And around half of all items seized involved knives, with lunch hall cutlery, scissors, corkscrew, sharpened sticks, nitrous oxide cannister, potato peeler, bottle opener, and a razor blade also discovered. In April, a 12-year-old girl was injured in an alleged knife attack at Aberdeen's Hazlehead Academy. The child was rushed to hospital for treatment and a 14-year-old girl was later charged. Knife crime has allegedly been linked to the recent deaths of schoolboy Amen Teklay, 15, East Kilbride lad Kayden Moy, 16, and Kory McCrimmon, 16, who was fatally stabbed in a Glasgow park. Last month, Parents Against Knives, founded by Kory's heartbroken family, led a march against blade violence. Despite horrendous conditions, Kory's family were undeterred in sending a message to Scotland's justice minister - and called for hope to be returned to the streets. The heavens opened as their Parents Against Knives procession kicked off after the youngster's dad Neil, 57, and mum Elizabeth, 44, were greeted by Rangers legend Mark Hateley at Ibrox before walking four miles to Celtic Park. The couple released a blue love-heart balloon with the words, 'love mum and dad' into the sky . They then unfurled a large banner emblazoned with their darling boy's picture and the words 'Parents Against Knives, Save Our Children'. The marchers carried on through the sodden streets to Celtic's ground, which sits right next to their home in the Barrowfield area of the city. Scottish Tory shadow justice secretary and North East MSP, Liam Kerr, said: 'The high number of weapons being brought into schools across Aberdeen is frightening.
