113 acres of land near Blaenavon to go under the hammer
The land, on the north side of Blaenavon Road, has a guide price of £45,000-plus and is being sold by Newport-based Paul Fosh Auctions.
Angie Davey, of Paul Fosh Auctions, said: "This is a very rare opportunity to purchase a large plot of land, extending to some 113 acres.
"The land, which is being sold with common land rights, is adjacent to the UNESCO world heritage site of Blaenavon."
She said that there are 'stunning 360-degree panoramic views' and that there is a 'well-maintained' cycle track running alongside part of the boundary.
Ms Davey said: "The site is of historic importance and has remained largely undisturbed for many centuries, a living remnant of medieval times."
The land is expected to attract a lot of interest, and Ms Davey clarified that being common land does not mean it is public property.
She said: "It's a popular misconception that common land is land owned by the general public and to which everyone has unrestricted right of access.
"All common land is private property, whether the owner is an individual or a corporation."
The land will be up for sale at the Paul Fosh Auctions online event, which starts at midday on Tuesday, May 20, and ends at 5pm on Thursday, May 22.

While nobody was injured, staff say the building was deemed structurally unsafe. They told loyal customers on social media both its branches in Hamilton and Bothwell have had to close, with no reopening date set. The fire means the bakery has had to let four staff go. In a video, staff said: "The building is not in a good way and we are not going to get back into it. "We are still waiting to find out if they will allow us in to salvage our equipment, which as far as I know, is in good working order. It just needs cleaning. "If they do allow us to do that, we will be moving our production back to our Hamilton shop. "It means we probably won't be able to open our Bothwell shop for a while. "We've had to let four of our staff members go, and it is not for any fault of their own. It absolutely sucks." Cadzow Bakehouse added in the caption: "For now, both shops are shut and all baking has halted with no reopening date set. Shock moment pensioner rams into bakery after accidentally hitting accelerator "We'll keep you all updated where possible. Any questions, just get in touch to ask. "As Ben says, if anyone is hiring, looking for a sick barista, a magician in the kitchen, customer service savant, or a piece artiste then please, please give us a shout. We have some amazing people in need of employment." Customers flocked to the comments to react to the "terrible" news. One wrote: "So sad to see this post. You have been an incredible addition to Hamilton and I hope that you recover from this and can rebuild your wonderful business. The good people of Hamilton will be right behind you." Another said: "So sorry for you. Can tell you are truly gutted and devastated. I do hope you find another unit soon. I'm sure your loyal followers will support you still, and you will get back up and running soon." A third added: "Sorry to hear this. You've got amazing local support and they will be all queuing up when you open back up. Some tough times ahead, but you've got a loyal customer base who will be waiting and ready when you are." A fourth weighed in: "Devastating news, glad everyone is safe and hopeful you can retrieve your appliances and equipment. Look forward to hearing of your triumphant return."

Auction Business Launches New Property Firm
Property business Paul Fosh Auctions has launched a new business, YourBid. YourBid lists the properties it has on its books on its website and the dates on which bidding takes place. At the end of the auction, the highest bidder has the exclusivity of 56 days in which to make all the necessary arrangements to complete the purchase of the property. The types of property offered in this way are those which are generally mortgageable as opposed to many in a traditional Paul Fosh Auctions sale which either require major renovation or could be unmortgageable. Auctions valuer Olivia Williams has been appointed to head up YourBid for Paul Fosh Auctions. Owner and managing director Paul Fosh of the Newport-based business, said: 'We believe that this is a real game changer not just for us as a business but the industry as a whole. 'YourBid opens up property auctions to a whole new swathe of buyers who, up until now, have been unable to take advantage of the very many benefits of buying a house at auction. 'I don't like the term but so-called Modern Auctions allow many more people, who until now have had to watch enviously and frustratedly from the sidelines as properties that they would otherwise have loved to have bought sold during traditional property auctions, to cash buyers, speculators and investors. 'It is aimed fairly and squarely at owner occupiers who have targeted a particular property which they want to make their home as against developers who may want to do up and flip the lot. 'In a nutshell, YourBid enables these buyers to enter the market. Unlike traditional auctions where when the gavel falls a contract to buy is exchanged, in our new, modern, system successful bidders have time to make all the necessary arrangements, including arranging their mortgage or means to buy the property, before the sale completes. 'It's a win/win which we believe will add a further string to our bow of what is a constantly expanding offering from Paul Fosh Group which now not only covers traditional property auctions but estate agency and lettings. 'After a soft launch we're now confident that, after ramping up our offering, we can soon be achieving a high number of sales each month just through YourBid.'
