The Muslim drag queen helping asylum seekers prove they are gay

Telegraph21-02-2025

A Muslim drag queen has acted as a witness for as many as 12 asylum seekers trying to prove they are gay, The Telegraph can reveal.
Asifa Lahore, Britain's 'first out Muslim drag queen' who is a trans woman, gave evidence in '10 or 12' immigration appeals within one year, court documents show.
The 42-year-old Southall-born artist and DJ also gave evidence in three separate asylum seeker cases.
Several of those identified by The Telegraph were appeals in which asylum seekers claimed they were gay or bisexual and that their lives would be at risk if they returned to their home countries.
The Telegraph reported last year how a record number of asylum seekers claiming to be gay had been allowed to stay in Britain, rising to 2,133 up from 762.
In 2019, just 475 claims were successful.
Sceptics believe some asylum seekers may be gaming the system by pretending to be homosexual as a means of having their application granted.
It follows a string of exposures by the Telegraph showing how migrants use human rights defences including their sexuality, having a family in Britain or traumatic experiences in the countries they have fled from, in an effort to avoid deportation orders.
Court documents suggest Lahore contributed both written and oral evidence in immigration cases while holding the position of a sexual health worker for the NAZ project charity.
Documents from a 2023 ruling on the failed appeal of a Bangladeshi citizen show that Lahore claimed to be a 'well-known LGBT person, fully self-employed as Britain's 'first out Muslim drag queen''.

Tamika Sueann-Rose Chesser has been charged with the murder of boyfriend Julian Story after his burnt and decapitated body was reported to have been found at a home they shared. A former reality TV personality has been charged with a grisly murder after her boyfriend was found decapitated in a home they shared following a minor blaze. Beauty and the Geek star Tamika Sueann-Rose Chesser, aged 34, was taken into custody on suspicion of murder following an investigation by the authorities into the death of her partner, 39-year-old Julian Story, who was found decapitated in their South Australian abode on June 19. ‌ The detectives are still piecing together the puzzle of Julian's whereabouts, primarily searching for his missing head, with his charred and headless remains having been located in the bathroom of their Port Lincoln residence, reports the Mirror. ‌ Tamika's arrest occurred a mere 48 hours post-discovery, as officers stumbled upon her sitting motionless in a garden, appearing catatonic, as stated in legal documentation. Alongside the murder charge, Tamika is also accused of meddling with human remains in order to obstruct justice, along with assaulting a police constable, per The Telegraph's briefing. Officials have prompted the general public to provide assistance in locating Julian's severed head, which they attest was detached subsequent to his supposed slaying in the late hours of June 17, reports the Daily Star. Detective Superintendent Darran Fielke explained at a media briefing, not delving deeply into details: "While I won't provide any further detail about that at this time, I can tragically say that we have not recovered the head of Julian Story." ‌ The senior detective also urged the populace to understand the grief engulfing Julian's family during this ordeal: "I can only imagine, and I want you to imagine, the grief this news is causing Julian's family." The main objective for the force, he affirmed, is to retrieve Julian's head. He said: "Recovering Julian's head to return it to his family so they can have a peaceful outcome, have a funeral and lay him to rest is a really important aspect for us." It has emerged that Tamika, who was arrested after being found in a state of unresponsiveness, showed no clear motive for her actions. ‌ The woman, caught on CCTV with her dogs subsequent to the alleged murder, is at the centre of police appeals as they seek clues to the location of Julian's missing head. Detective Superintendent Fielke issued a plea stating: "I'm appealing to local residents to review CCTV or dash cam footage which they may have, which may assist the investigation." A prior court order preventing the identification of Tamika and the details of the case has been lifted by Magistrate Ben Sale in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday. Facing court through a video link, Tamika was denied bail and remains under a mental health detention order. Tamika is due to appear in court again this December. Former Man Utd striker Mason Greenwood returns to Manchester for training

Mason Greenwood has returned to Manchester for a training session, 12 months after he left the city following his departure from Manchester United and move to Ligue 1 side Marseille Ex-Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has been spotted training in England, a year after his move to Marseille. The 23-year-old uploaded photos to social media of himself partaking in drills at the home of Manchester-based non-league side Chadderton FC. The Bradford-born forward joined the Red Devils' academy at the tender age of six and made his first-team debut under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2019, soon becoming the club's youngest European goalscorer at just 17. ‌ In October 2022, Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and controlling and coercive behaviour. These charges were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service a year later. ‌ Following his arrest, Greenwood was suspended by United and loaned out to Spanish side Getafe. In July of 2024, he left Old Trafford for good, signing for Ligue 1 side Marseille in a deal worth £26.6million. Now, roughly a year after leaving Manchester, Greenwood has been seen back in the area, training with Chadderton, a well-known non-league team based in Oldham, reports the Manchester Evening News. Pictures on Instagram show Greenwood taking part in sprints and shooting drills on Chadderton's new 3G pitch, alongside former United team-mate D'Mani Mellor. Mellor and Greenwood once shared the pitch during a shocking 2-1 loss to Astana in the Europa League back in 2019. The United youngsters had taken an early lead through Jesse Lingard, only to be shocked by a second-half revival from the Kazakhstani side, cemented by an own goal from Di'Shon Bernard. The 24-year-old experienced a series of loan moves before a permanent switch to Wycombe Wanderers in 2022. He is now starring for Macclesfield and was spotted training with Greenwood once again earlier this month, this time at a Manchester-based facility. ‌ As for Greenwood, his first campaign with Marseille was an incredibly successful one, as he tied with Ballon d'Or hopeful and Champions League winner Ousmane Dembele atop the Ligue 1 goal-scoring charts with 21. This prolific strike rate helped his team secure a second-placed finish, earning them a berth in next season's Champions League. They'll also be welcoming former United hopeful Angel Gomes into their ranks. Marseille's championing of Greenwood doesn't end there; team-mate Adrien Rabiot held nothing back in his praise, telling The Athletic: "Mason is an incredible player. ‌ "If he hadn't had all of his problems, I think he'd have an image like [Jude] Bellingham. Mason would be the star. Because he's an exceptional player. "He can score with his right foot and his left foot, he has an exceptional shot, he can dribble. We're very lucky to have him. When he's really focused, he does really great things." Join our new MAN UTD WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Manchester United content from Mirror Football.
