In a major private equity move, global private markets investment firm Partners Group is set to acquire a significant majority stake in Mumbai-based Infinity Fincorp Solutions for INR 1,950 crore, making it one of the largest NBFC transactions in India this year.
The existing shareholder Jungle Ventures also participated in the round. The deal includes a primary capital infusion of INR 600 crore along with a secondary purchase from Indium IV (Mauritius) Holdings Limited, a Fund managed by Global Opportunity Advisors (Mauritius) Limited which is advised by True North Managers LLP and other shareholders.
Infinity, a growing NBFC, provides secured loans to small businesses and entrepreneurs across 120+ branches in eight states. The firm boasts assets under management (AUM) of INR 1,200+ crore and serves around 50,000 customers, many from underserved tier II and III towns engaged in agriculture, trade, and manufacturing.
"We are dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs and business owners across tier III towns in India," said Shrikant Ravalkar, Founder, MD and CEO of Infinity. "We welcome Partners Group and intend on leveraging their operational expertise to further broad base our mission of serving the Indian MSME sector."
According to Vageesh Gupta, Managing Director at Partners Group, "The MSME segment contributes a significant share to India's GDP. We believe non-bank lenders like Infinity are best positioned to serve these businesses through specialised, localised lending models."
Infinity is expected to deploy the INR 600 crore primary infusion to accelerate branch rollouts, enhance technology platforms, and improve customer onboarding and experience. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Nitin Nayak, board nominee of Indium IV, added, "Infinity has scaled up remarkably within a few years, demonstrating strong credit quality and profitability. The management team's understanding of MSME credit needs is exceptional."
Murali Krishnan Nair, Partner at Partners Group, highlighted the firm's prior success with Aavas Financiers and stated, "We bring both capital and operational experience. Infinity's employee-centric culture and market understanding give us a strong platform for the next phase of growth."
Arpit Beri of Jungle Ventures said, "Infinity is scaling rapidly with discipline and innovation. We are excited to continue our partnership."
Sagar Agrawal, Managing Partner at Beams Fintech Fund, noted, "This transaction validates Infinity's business model and its consistent performance in the Micro-LAP segment."
Avendus Capital acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Infinity and Indium IV on the deal.
This acquisition marks Partners Group's strategic entry into India's high-growth NBFC landscape, a sector gaining momentum with the government's push for MSME credit, digitalisation, and financial inclusion.

Elon Musk Floats a New Source of Funding for xAI: Tesla

Elon Musk said Tesla shareholders would vote on investing in xAI, the latest move by the billionaire entrepreneur to tap his own companies to help fund his artificial-intelligence startup. 'If it was up to me, Tesla would have invested in xAI long ago,' Musk said Sunday evening in a post on X, his social-media platform. 'We will have a shareholder vote on the matter.' Jamie Dimon Says Private Credit Is Dangerous—and He Wants JPMorgan to Get In on It In America's Return to the Office, Women Are Falling Behind Elon Musk Is Back at Work and Burning Through Executives Why You Shouldn't Buy an iPhone Right Now The Private-Equity Maneuver Allowing More Investors to Cash Out Musk's comments follow a Wall Street Journal report on Saturday that said SpaceX, his rocket company, had committed $2 billion toward a recent fundraising round for xAI. The turn inward for investment comes as xAI requires billions of dollars to power servers as it plays catch up in the global AI race, which has fast become one of the most costly endeavors of modern technology. OpenAI and other startups in the sector are rapidly burning through unprecedented levels of new funding as they develop and run large language models that need extensive training. But revenue is lagging well behind expenses—and sources of the funding may be limited. While OpenAI has had success raising tens of billions of dollars from SoftBank and Microsoft, xAI has trailed. The Musk-led company recently raised $5 billion of debt and another $5 billion of equity—including the SpaceX money. It is the rocket maker's first known investment into xAI and one of its largest in another company. Musk has repeatedly mobilized other parts of his business empire to boost xAI, which earlier this year merged with X. The merger valued the new company at $113 billion. In an X post early Monday, Musk said he wasn't supportive of a merger between xAI and Tesla. The latest version of xAI's Grok chatbot has earned high marks from AI-benchmarking service Artificial Analysis for its performance, though it hasn't gained nearly as much traction as OpenAI's ChatGPT. It also has had its share of controversies: Last week it published a series of posts praising Adolf Hitler. The funding drive for the AI startup comes as Musk's influence has taken a hit. Musk no longer wields power over the federal government following the implosion of his once-close relationship with President Trump. The bromance has turned into an open battle after Musk's criticism of the president's debt-heavy federal tax and spending bill. Earlier this month, Musk said he would form the America Party, a third party in the next election. He has also indicated that he would target members of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then voted for Trump's bill. The prospect of Tesla potentially backing xAI also comes as the electric-vehicle maker is beset with its own problems. The company recently reported a 13.5% fall in global vehicle sales for the last quarter and missed delivery forecasts. It is also facing increasing challenges in China. Still, while Tesla's sales have fallen, the company has plenty of money. It reported $16 billion in cash as of March 31. Deals where a chief executive directs money to a related business with different shareholders are often controversial in corporate America, given the concerns that one set of investors could be harmed at the expense of another. By turning to SpaceX, Musk is effectively using cash from shareholders betting on his space and satellite company to fund his ambitions in AI. It isn't the first time SpaceX's funds have been used in this way. Musk personally borrowed $20 million from the company to help fund Tesla early in its history and used SpaceX's equipment to set up his tunneling venture, the Boring Company, drawing ire from some SpaceX investors. More recently, he turned to SpaceX for a $1 billion loan around the time he was acquiring what was then-called Twitter, which he paid back shortly after it out. Musk also faced extensive legal challenges to his successful bid to merge his Solar City solar-power company with Tesla. SPARK Plus™ by QKS Group: Rebuilding Tech Advisory from the Ground Up

SPARK Plus™ by QKS Group, For Buyers Tired of Rankings, and Vendors Who Deserve to Be Seen Pune, India, July 14, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- If you've ever tried navigating tech decisions using standard advisory reports, you've probably felt it something's off. Between the endless rankings, generic frameworks, and polished vendor lists, it's easy to get lost in noise. The reality? Today's tech choices are more complex, fast-moving, and context-driven than ever, and old-school advisory just isn't cutting it anymore. To address this, QKS Group is introducing SPARK Plus™, a next-generation advisory platform designed to close the gap between data, insight, and real-world decisions. A Broken Model, Long Overdue for Change Tech advisory has long operated on a familiar playbook: analyst evaluations, quadrant rankings, and generalized recommendations. But that model is built for a slower, more predictable era and is no longer effective. Today's software buyers face tighter timelines, larger stakes, and more complex ecosystems. Vendors, meanwhile, are navigating saturated markets where real innovation can easily go unnoticed. According to QKS Group analysts, the core issue lies in misalignment. Most advisory models are detached from operational realities. They offer broad assessments without regard for region-specific needs, industry constraints, or the actual experience of users. The result? Companies end up choosing platforms that don't fit. Rollouts stall. Adoption suffers. And promising vendors get lost in the noise. To better understand QKS Group's Research Methodology, visit: SPARKPlus™: Built for Real Decisions, Not Just Rankings SPARK Plus™ is QKS Group's response to these failures, not as a refinement, but as a reinvention. It brings together rigorous analysis, verified buyer insights, and deep contextualization to empower both sides of the tech ecosystem. Here's what makes it different: Tailored Intelligence, Not Blanket Advice SPARK Plus™ delivers guidance that reflects a buyer's actual operating environment by industry, region, and company size rather than generic market snapshots. Unfiltered Analyst Insights The platform evaluates over 5,000 vendors using not just expert reviews but also experiential data from real users in live deployment environments. This creates a grounded view of how products actually perform under pressure. Transparent Analyst Advisory on Vendors Instead of abstract scoring models, SPARK Plus™ focuses on clarity, translating analysis into structured insights that directly support vendor selection, procurement, and go-to-market strategies. A Platform for Both Buyers and Vendors SPARK Plus™ recognizes that meaningful decisions happen on both sides. For buyers, it offers alignment and assurance. For vendors, it provides visibility in the places that matter most, emerging geographies, niche sectors, and underexplored use cases. Industry-Specific SPARK Matrix™ Evaluate vendors through an industry lens, using criteria tailored to domain-specific needs. Get full visibility into parameter-level ratings across all vendors, enabling clear, contextual, and relevant comparisons. Regional SPARK Matrix™ Assess vendors based on region-specific execution, capabilities, and compliance. Each vendor's performance is transparently rated across every parameter, helping you make informed decisions based on local realities. Responding to the Market and its needs: This shift comes at a crucial time when both vendors and buyers are frustrated by the inefficiencies of the status quo. Buyers want to make faster, smarter calls. Vendors want to be evaluated on merit, not just market noise or branding. SPARK Plus™ meets that need head-on by building a system that reflects modern realities: Tech stacks are more complex. Digital transformation timelines are shrinking. And every customer journey is increasingly unique. Enabling Smarter Tech Decisions, Everywhere The platform isn't just about better rankings. It's about restoring trust by giving decision-makers the apt tools to act confidently and vendors a chance to be seen for their true capabilities. SPARK Plus™ also enables: Faster vendor shortlisting through contextual filtering Strategic go-to-market positioning for emerging vendors Better procurement alignment with internal KPIs QKS Review Blogs, an integral part of the SPARK Plus™ platform, delivers sharp, research-backed perspectives on tech trends, vendor strategies, and market movements. Designed for fast, contextual decision-making, they help buyers and vendors stay ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape. It's already being adopted by both global enterprises and mid-market firms, especially in regions where traditional models often overlook localized complexity. SPARK Plus is the world's first advisory platform that truly bridges the gap between analyst research and real-world buying behavior. 'We're proud to pioneer a new category where community, intelligence, and advisory converge to empower today's tech decision-makers. SPARK Plus reflects our belief: credible, context-rich, and actionable insights shouldn't be limited to the few, but available to all.' - , CEO & Chief Principal Analyst What to anticipate next As QKS Group rolls out SPARK Plus™ across domains including CX, AI, cybersecurity, and various enterprise software, the platform is expected to serve as a core foundation for decision-making frameworks across both mature and developing markets. Future expansions will integrate real-time buyer data, predictive vendor performance modelling, and customizable benchmarking for procurement teams and strategy leads. "I'm genuinely impressed with what QKS Group has built. Being ranked #2 globally in reprint licensing is no small feat, and their SPARK Plus™ platform brings a truly differentiated approach to the analyst market. By integrating transparent analyst opinions, user reviews, and community engagement, QKS Group is delivering the kind of innovation that has the potential to break through in today's crowded landscape." Cathie Wood sells $14.3M in surging crypto stocks to buy Tesla

Cathie Wood sells $14.3M in surging crypto stocks to buy Tesla originally appeared on TheStreet. ARK Invest, the investment firm led by CEO Cathie Wood, last week unloaded crypto-focused shares worth $14.3 million to acquire $18.7 million in Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) stocks. ARK Invest sold 16,627 Coinbase (Nasdaq: COIN) shares worth $6.47 million from its Innovation ETF (ARKK) on July 10. It sold 5,596 COIN shares worth $2.17 million from its Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW) on July 11. Coinbase is the largest crypto exchange in the U.S. which went public in April 2021. COIN, which entered the S&P 500 club in May, reached an all-time high (ATH) of $395.5 on July 11 as Wood's firm kept unloading its shares. The investment firm also unloaded 58,504 Robinhood (Nasdaq: HOOD) shares worth $5.7 million from ARKK on July 10. Robinhood is a platform that offers stock and crypto trading, which went public in November 2021. Though its recent launch of tokenized stocks received severe backlash from companies like OpenAI, the excitement around the new suite of products helped the stock reach a record high of $101.50 on July also praised Robinhood for launching tokenized stocks that allow 24/7 and fractionalized trading. But the veteran fund manager was quick to dispose of both COIN and HOOD as they surged to new highs. Instead, ARK Invest acquired Tesla shares worth $187.7 million on July 11 as the Elon Musk-led electric vehicle (EV) company announced it's coming to India soon. The investment firm bought 45,761 TSLA shares worth $14.3 million for ARKK and 13,944 TSLA worth $4.3 million for ARKW on July 11. Recently, Tesla was also at the center of the public feud between Musk and President Donald Trump that sent the stock tumbling. The president had alleged that the tech tycoon was critical of the "big, beautiful bill" because the administration was going to terminate the EV per BitcoinTreasuries, Tesla is the eighth-largest public corporate holder of Bitcoin. Bitcoin hit the record high of $123,091.61 on July 14 and is trading at $121,900.46 at press time, as per Kraken's price feed. So, Tesla's BTC holdings of 11,509 coins are worth $1.4 billion at the time of writing. Wood herself is a strong Bitcoin advocate who earlier predicted that the king coin could surpass $1.5 million in value.
