Super Bowl MVP has bold take on Patriots' potential in 2025 season
Former Super Bowl MVP Dexter Jackson is encouraged by the New England Patriots' young talent heading into the 2025 season.
The team has undergone an extensive makeover on both sides of the ball under newly-hired head coach Mike Vrabel. They've upgraded in the trenches with an influx of young, talented defensive tackles and offensive linemen.
The team has also added multiple new offensive weapons, including four-time Pro Bowl wideout Stefon Diggs, rookie receiver Kyle Williams and rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson. Jackson is so impressed with the upgrades that he believes the Patriots could potentially win the AFC East division in 2025.
"The AFC East is not a strong division right now. If they can develop their young players, the Patriots could win this division in 2025," said Jackson, via RotoGrinders' Ben Mendelowitz.
It's certainly not out of the realm of possibility for the Patriots to make the playoffs. They'll be playing a favorable schedule with a much-improved roster. The AFC East division isn't as scary as it was a couple of years ago, either.
If the team plays up to its potential, it could be on the verge of a dramatic turnaround season.

Steelers announce 2025 Hall of Honor class headlined by Ben Roethlisberger
Few NFL franchises can boast the sheer volume of talent over the decades that the Pittsburgh Steelers can. The Pro Football Hall of Fame is filled with former Steelers and the franchise has six Super Bowl championships. The team also has their own Ring of Honor and each year a select few former Steelers legends get their names added. On Saturday, the Steelers announced the three former Steelers who will be a part of the 2025 class. This class is headlined by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. He is joined by center Maurkice Pouncey and outside linebacker Joey Porter. To be considered for the Hall of Honor, a player must be retired for at least three seasons, have spent at least three seasons with the Steelers, and obviously have had a significant impact on the team during their tenure. Other members of the Hall of Honor include Terry Bradshaw, Joe Greene, Franco Harris, Jack Lambert, Jack Ham, Mel Blount, Mike Webster, Dermontti Dawson, John Stallworth, Rod Woodson, Troy Polamalu, Donnie Shell, Ernie Stautner, Jerome Bettis, and Alan Faneca. Former Georgia DL Jordan Davis underwent major change ahead of 2025 NFL season
As NFL training camps kick off for the 2025 season, one player drawing significant attention is Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Jordan Davis. Fresh off a Super Bowl-winning campaign, the Eagles exercised Davis' fifth-year option, ensuring his tenure with the team extends through the 2026 season. Davis is part of a notable players of former Georgia Bulldogs who have found success with the Eagles, a trend that continues to be a storyline for the Philadelphia franchise. Davis says he has shed 26 pounds this offseason. Davis is now listed weight at 336 pounds, which is aimed at enhancing his performance and allowing him to play more snaps. A slimmer Davis should excel, particularly in pass-rushing situations. "Just putting in the work, putting in the work and being consistent," said Davis when asked about his transformation this offseason. "I'll say living better, more energy, greater focus, conditioning wise on the field. I feellike, you know, it takes me longer to really get tired." With the loss of key defensive linemen, Davis will be asked to do more than just be a run stuffer. During his 2024 season he had 27 total tackles and had a sack in the Super Bowl on Patrick Mahomes. If he can reach another level this season with his All-Pro teammate Jalen Carter, then they can be one of the most dominant duos in the NFL. Davis is one of eight Georgia Bulldogs on the Eagles, who open the 2025 NFL season against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Sept. 4.

Tyreek Hill drops 3-word declaration as Dolphins training camp starts
The post Tyreek Hill drops 3-word declaration as Dolphins training camp starts appeared first on ClutchPoints. Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill did not hide his displeasure with the team after their subpar performance last season. They finished with an 8-9 record and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the sixth time in eight seasons. Hill, who has never been afraid to speak his mind, indicated that he wanted to leave the Dolphins. But since then, the 31-year-old wide receiver has backtracked on his discontent. He vowed to bounce back and help Miami have a better campaign this season. At the start of the Dolphins' training camp on Tuesday, Hill posted a short message on X. 'Back at it #Year10,' said the eight-time Pro Bowler. Hill is eager to prove himself again after a down year, wherein he saw his numbers dip to 959 receiving yards—his fewest since 2019—and a career-low-tying six touchdowns. Now that their training camp has begun, the one-time Super Bowl champion wants to be more committed. 'Just being present every day, on time, doing things extra, like catching footballs after practice conditioning,' said Hill in a report from ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques. 'Whenever I'm tired, being that vocal leader in the locker room for guys, just being the dude Miami paid me to be, and what I know I can be. 'I got here through hard work, and sometimes, when you get to a certain spot in your life where you want to be, you're kind of like, 'OK, it's cool now.'' Hill remains one of the most skilled and fastest pass-catchers in the NFL. Prior to last season, he tallied at least 1,200 receiving yards for four straight years. He is not nicknamed 'Cheetah' for nothing. He said he has been putting in the work this summer, emphasizing his renewed focus after the challenges he faced last year, including being detained by police officers in a road incident before their season opener. 'I've always been trying to be here and be there, but me being able to slow down a little bit, train, and bust my tail for myself and then also for this community and this team, I feel like it'll be worth it,' added Hill. Consider that a fair warning to the rest of the league.
