Mamelodi Sundowns: Lucas Ribeiro returns, Shalulile's potential exit
The Brazilians recently returned to training after participating in the FIFA Club World Cup last month. With just three weeks of rest, Miguel Cardoso's men are again back in action and will look for a good start to their 2025.26 season.
Downs forward, Lucas Ribeiro, was rumoured with an exit, but the 26-year-old is back with the team and raring to go.
'It's been a very good season,' the Brazilian attacker said. 'The team played well, and it wasn't an easy season because we played many games, but I am very happy to have won individual trophies,' Ribeiro said. 'I don't play alone; I owe this to my teammates, the club Mamelodi Sundowns, the supporters, and the coach. The coach put my level very high, and I am very happy.'
'Training today [Thursday] was good, I'm very happy, I'm back for training for my team. I'm very happy with the training.
'It's a very important game; the supporters must give everything, push the guys on the pitch. It's very important. It'll be a good game on Sunday.'
One Mamelodi Sundowns attacker destined to leave is Peter Shalulile. The Namibian has been linked with a move to North African giants Esperance.
Since Cardoso took over, the experienced striker has seen little gametime and could be plotting a move away from Chloorkop after he left the Masandawana camp on Friday, as per FARPost.
Shalulile has scored a record of 130 goals in 290 games across his PSL career with both Mamelodi Sundowns and Highlands Park.

Bradley Grobler's brace fires Sekhukhune United to maiden MTN8 semi-final
Bradley Grobler scored a brace to announce his arrival at Sekhukhune United in style, as Babina Noko came from 2–0 down to beat TS Galaxy 3–2 and advance to the semi-final of the MTN8 for the first time in their history. A prolific scorer with SuperSport United, Grobler was a surprise signing by Sekhukhune, as a number of players stayed on with the new franchise Siwelele United, who bought the status of Matsatsantsa a Pitori. But having previously worked with coach Eric Tinkler, the son of former Moroka Swallows star striker Les Grobler made the move — and immediately showed he is going to be key for Sekhukhune in their quest for maiden silverware in the elite league. On a cold night in the Limpopo capital, with very few having braved the elements to come watch the match, it was the visitors who settled first and duly took the lead just before the quarter-hour mark through Mpho Mvelase, following a free kick that the hosts failed to clear. Young Oratile Mandi wasted a glorious chance to equalise for Sekhukhune, sending the ball high over the crossbar when faced with tap-in inside the box.

Kaizer Chiefs questioned on Sundowns-bound star
A wonderfully talented Kaizer Chiefs product, Khulumani Ndamane, is edging closer to joining Mamelodi Sundowns from TS Galaxy. The situation has sparked intense debate among fans and analysts, calling into question whether Kaizer Chiefs' decision-making in recent transfer windows is letting valuable talent slip through their fingers. Ndamane, a 21-year-old left-footed center-back, left the Amakhosi reserve side to impress during his breakout season with Galaxy—and even earned a Bafana Bafana debut. Bafana midfielder: Orlando Pirates changed my life Kaizer Chiefs chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung and the club's Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. Image: Sowetan 'Sometimes the guys (at Chiefs) are not making the right decisions,' Khan said via Soccer Laduma . 'That bridge between the first team and reserves, you need to find somebody who knows how to ensure the transition is a smooth one,' Khan added. Bafana Bafana star: 'Why I joined Sundowns' 'This is (just) one good example but if I'm sitting at Chiefs, I would take it as a very good example never to make the same mistake. This guy is (reportedly) going to Mamelodi Sundowns, he's a quality player, I watched him at Galaxy and shook my head and said. ''For heaven's sake, that's the area Kaizer Chiefs are struggling, to get that defensive pairing organized, they should never have let this boy go', but hopefully they've learned the lesson and hopefully in future, they'll ensure they have a proper sit down when they release players like Ndamane,' Khan concluded. Ouaddou praises new Orlando Pirates new signing after clinical MTN8 performance
Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou praised new signing Oswin Appollis' performance following the team's win over Polokwane City on Saturday afternoon at the Orlando Stadium. Goals from Appollis and Patrick Maswanganyi were enough to seal a 2-0 win for the Buccaneers and seal their spot in the MTN8 semi-finals. Having signed 11 new players, Ouaddou started the match with three new signings and all of them impressed on the day. Appollis was a top performer, earning the Man of the Match award. Ouaddou credited his players for supporting the former Polokwane City star. 'I'm happy for him, you know Appollis for a long time,' the Pirates coach told SuperSport after the match. 'When he is surrounded with good players you can even see the best of him, but not only him. 'I want to congratulate all my boys, he took the best man – man of the match because of the collective.' Ouaddou has made it clear that Orlando Pirates' target is to win another MTN8 title. 'So, I think it's a big victory for us but it's not finish. We have to go through and the target is to win the MTN8,' he added. 'Yes, with Orlando Pirates winning every cup- we know it's not easy, but we will give our best to try and win it.' The Buccaneers shift their focus to the Betway Premiership, where they will play Sekhukhune United in their first game next weekend.
