Team Jake Paul get cocky as Anthony Joshua super fight comes with astonishing confidence
The Youtube star-turned fighters camp insist a showdown with Joshua is very much on the cards Jake Paul's management team have confirmed that discussions over a huge crossover fight with Anthony Joshua are ongoing. And the Youtuber-turned boxer's camp also claim that the 28-year-old will have no problem weighing in on the heavyweight scales. Since turning professional in 2020, Paul has won 12 of his 13 bouts, losing a points decision to Tommy Fury two and a half years ago. His record includes victories over former WBC middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and ageing heavyweight legend Mike Tyson but the American star is yet to share the ring with an active fighter. Two-time heavyweight world champion Joshua is searching for an opponent later this year as he recovers from an injury picked up in the aftermath of his devastating knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois last September. And while talk of a long-awaited Joshua v Tyson Fury showdown lingers, Most Valuable Promotions CEO and co-founder Naiksa Bidarian insists their man facing the 2012 Olympic gold medallist at some point this year is genuinely on the cards. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "The fight can absolutely happen. Two of AJ's losses came against (Oleksandr) Usyk. Usyk weighed 220lbs for those fights. "Jake is not Usyk. But Jake fought (Mike) Tyson at 228lbs. "So size wise, we can get comfortable. We're actively discussing it." Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn recently stated that Paul will be in for a rude awakening if he decides to step into the ring with big-hitter Joshua. He told talkSPORT: "Look, he's calling out Gervonta Davis, who is a 135-pound lightweight, and he's calling out Anthony Joshua, that's a heavyweight monster. "I think Jake Paul is crazy enough to fight Anthony Joshua because the money would be absolutely obscene. "It's a catastrophic mismatch that people would tune in to watch because it would lead to the end of Jake Paul. "Hopefully, not literally, but it's that dangerous. "It's a fight that I don't think should really happen if I'm honest."

‘It's dangerously insane' – Former world champ fears for Jake Paul's health amid Anthony Joshua fight talks
FORMER world champion Tony Bellew has hit out at the "dangerously insane" idea of Jake Paul fighting Anthony Joshua. YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul audaciously called out two-time heavyweight champ AJ earlier in the year. Advertisement 4 Anthony Joshua is in talks to fight Jake Paul It sparked a back-and-forth exchange between the two behind-the-scenes - paving the way for genuine talks between the two camps. Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed they are interested with Paul's promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian also open for talks. And with Saudi boxing supremo Turki Alalshkih too on board - the shock fight could become a reality. But Bellew, who held the WBC cruiserweight title, told iFL TV: "Money talks and bulls*** walks, we all know that phrase we've all seen it. It's absolute lunacy. It's insane. It's dangerously insane." Paul, 28, has 12 wins and just one loss as a boxer, coming against Tommy Fury, 26, via split-decision in 2023. His last win was in June against former middleweight world champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 39, in a cruiserweight bout. Paul made his heavyweight debut last November when Mike Tyson controversially made a comeback at 58 to lose over eight rounds. Joshua, 35, was 18st for his last bout in September when he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois, 27, still four stone heavier than Paul. He said: "It's madness. It's frighteningly mad. It's scary how dangerous it is. "I got asked this on DAZN - and it will come out soon - Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul is the biggest fight in boxing. "I said, no it's not. Do you want to know a bigger fight to make? Canelo and Anthony Joshua. It is. Advertisement "You're talking about two of the faces of boxing. Canelo's gone through that many weight divisions he may as well just try one of the heavyweights. Why not?" Canelo, 35, is the undisputed super-middleweight king who faces unbeaten American Terence Crawford, 37, on September 13 in Las Vegas. And although he is an all-time great, the Mexican superstar fights at the 12st limit, a staggering seven stone lighter than AJ. Canelo has won titles at light-heavyweight - which is 175lb (12st 7lb) - and has teased a move to cruiserweight but never heavyweight.
