Warner Bros. Furious As F1 Gets Fewer Screens Than Sitaare Zameen Par
Last Updated:
Warner Bros. has sent a warning to the Indian multiplex chain, demanding fair screen allocations for F1 and its upcoming releases.
Things are heating up between Warner Bros. and PVR Inox, India's largest multiplex chain and also a leading distributor, over the number of shows for F1 The Movie. The American studio has accused the multiplex chain of favouring Bollywood movies over Hollywood ones. With Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par running successfully in theatres since June 20, and Kajol's mythological horror film, Maa, set to hit theatres on June 27, the sports drama F1 is struggling to secure a sufficient number of shows in Indian theatres.
F1 The Movie is one of the highly anticipated films of 2025. Starring Brad Pitt as the lead, it is a high-octane racing drama that has already impressed critics and fans alike. Set to be released on June 27, it currently has an over 90 per cent critic score. Despite all the buzz, F1 is struggling to secure enough screens and prime-time slots, which PVR Inox has given to Sitaare Zameen Par.
According to reports, Warner Bros. has sent a warning to the Indian multiplex chain, demanding fair screen allocations for F1 and its upcoming releases. They have also threatened to pull out films from the chain if they fail to do so. A source told Bollywood Hungama, 'Warner felt that they were getting unfair treatment. They also got a sense that PVR Inox was giving them a raw deal and giving preference to Sitaare Zameen Par and Maa, films which are distributed by PVR Inox Pictures."
Warner Bros. is trying to get more screens for Brad Pitt's sports drama by using its upcoming, much-awaited films like Jurassic World Rebirth and Superman as bait. The American studio has reportedly warned PVR Inox that if it does not allocate the required shows for F1, it will skip the multiplex chain completely for its new releases. But things are easier said than done. Because PVR Inox is the leading multiplex chain in India, Warner Bros. cannot afford to skip it altogether.
This isn't the first time that screen allocation has caused a stir. PVR Inox often prefers big, star-driven Indian films over Hollywood ones, despite the buzz surrounding those. With numerous highly anticipated releases on June 27 and in the following weeks, a few films are likely to receive fewer screens. From PVR Inox's point of view, Sitaare Zameen Par is generating good revenue, so it made sense to allocate more screens to it. However, if F1 manages to draw a crowd, the chain will likely add more prime-time slots. For now, negotiations are ongoing, with no resolution announced yet.

'Balcony Mein...': Sanjana Ganesan Reveals How Jasprit Bumrah Proposed To Her During IPL
Last Updated: Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan have revealed the hilarious story of their engagement -- that happened in the middle of IPL 2020! Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah and his wife, sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, have revealed the story of their engagement in the middle of IPL 2020 in the UAE, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The power couple got married in 2021 after over two years of dating and now have a son, Angad, who was born in 2023. In an interview with former cricketer Harbhajan Singh and his wife Geeta Basra, Bumrah spilled the beans on how he got a bubble-to-bubble transfer arranged by speaking to IPL officials, decorated his room, and even lit up candles on the balcony. Ganesan, on the other hand, admitted being confused by Bumrah's eagerness to take her to the balcony when she entered his room before the surprise was unveiled. 'That was during COVID times. So, there were bubbles for each and every team." Bumrah said on the show, as quoted by Sportskeeda. 'As luck would have it, she was in KKR, and I was with the Mumbai Indians (MI). Both teams were in Abu Dhabi. I carried a ring in the hope that perhaps after the tournament ends, I'll get a chance. Apart from the ground interactions, we couldn't meet because of the bubble." 'So, she was out. Then, I had to tell people that look, I've brought this ring. Please arrange a bubble-to-bubble transfer. So, that transfer happened. When she arrived, I did everything myself. I placed the cake myself, decorated everything in my room and I had the ring ready," the pacer added. Ganesan recalled her side of the story, saying: 'I've come to the room and he's telling me, 'balcony mein chalo' (come to the balcony). I am like, I've just walked in, at least give me water. But he's like, nahi nahi balcony mein chalo (no, no come to the balcony)." Bumrah and Ganesan are currently together in England, where India are playing a five-Test series under the banner of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Bumrah was India's best bowler in the first Test at Headingley but couldn't prevent a five-wicket defeat on the final day. There's speculation galore over whether he'll play the second match in Birmingham or if the management would choose to manage his workload instead. First Published:

Project Hail Mary trailer OUT: Fans applaud Ryan Gosling, Sandra Huller's upcoming film, say 'this looks perfect'
The long-anticipated trailer for 'Project Hail Mary' has finally been unveiled, offering a first glimpse into the epic sci-fi adventure starring Ryan Gosling and Sandra Hüller. The film follows the story of a former science teacher who is thrust into space in a desperate bid to save humanity from extinction. Running for two minutes and 58 seconds, the trailer introduces us to government official Eva Stratt (Sandra Huller) as she seeks out schoolteacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling), who also holds a doctorate in Molecular Biology, persuading him to embark on a space mission critical to Earth's survival. Initially reluctant and overwhelmed—at one point quipping, 'I put the 'not' in astronaut'—Grace ultimately accepts the mission. The narrative takes a sharp turn when Grace awakens aboard a spacecraft with no memory of who he is or why he is there. Piece by piece, he uncovers the truth: he is the sole survivor of a crew sent to the Tau Ceti solar system in search of a solution to an existential crisis facing Earth. As he fights to recall his purpose, Grace must rely on his scientific expertise, human resilience, and one mysterious companion to complete the mission. The trailer has been met with widespread enthusiasm online, with fans eager to see the adaptation of Andy Weir's best-selling novel brought to life. One viewer shared, 'For a while I was worried about how this would turn out. I'm no longer worried, now I'm just excited (sic).' Another praised the creative team and cast, writing, 'This looks perfect!!!!! Lord & Miller and their cast and crew seemed to have COOKED! March 2026 can't come soon enough (sic)!' A third fan reflected on their experience with the book and excitement for the film: 'This is one of the funniest books I've ever read. I picked it up at an airport bookstore and couldn't put it down until I finished—it had me hooked the entire way through. I'm so glad the movie kept that same sharp comedic tone, and Ryan Gosling is absolutely perfect in the lead role. I couldn't have asked for a better adaptation (sic).'
