Summer is usually a time when singles look to book shared houses by the beach, bar hop until the wee hours of the morning or drink fun cocktails on sunny rooftops. That's not the case for Gen Z.
Young women are not only giving up swiping on dating apps, they're now looking to protect their peace even further by taking a vow of silence and booking stays at Catholic convents and monasteries for the summer.
Yes, you read that correctly.
In case you're unfamiliar: a vow of silence is the act of being verbally silent, only communicating through writing or sign language.
Considering a quarter of a million Americans experience burnout by 30 — spending a summer getting in touch with one's spiritual side sounds like the ideal peaceful escape.
This quiet trend has become so popular that guests are being put on a waitlist for these holy stays, as pointed out in one woman's viral TikTok video.
'…I booked a vow of silence at a Catholic monastery late last year and the booking process is reallly straightforward — you just email the nuns, they give you some dates. Overall, they're really flexible,' @mc667868 said in her post that has garnered over 700,000 views.
Explaining she had a great experience her first time around, when the content creator went to book her stay this summer — she was shocked to learn that the monastery was fully booked 'for the next three months.'

Her video racked up thousands of comments from other women, wholeheartedly supporting this unexpected trend.

'Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure Of Foggy Mountain' Blu-Ray Review - An Outrageously Funny Journey
John Goodman narrates the raucously funny adventures of Ben, Martin, and John, three childhood friends turned deadbeat coworkers who fend off hairless bears, conniving park rangers (Meg Stalter of Hacks and X Mayo of The Blackening), and a hypocritical cult leader (Bowen Yang of Saturday Night Live) to track down a priceless treasure, only to discover that finding the treasure is the easiest part of their journey. Oh, and Conan O'Brien (Conan) plays Ben's dad in it. This buddy comedy is directed by Paul Briganti (Saturday Night Live) and produced by Judd Apatow (Superbad) and Jimmy Miller (Bad Teacher). Martin Herlihy, John Higgins, and Ben Marshall — aka the Please Don't Destroy guys — lend their acting chops in addition to writing and executive producing the film. Video Quality Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain comes to Blu-Ray in a 1080p presentation that brings everything to life as desired. The film presents the hues on display in the natural foliage, lighting and clothing with the proper depth and accuracy. This is a film with a natural color palette that is reproduced perfectly with an entrancing radiance. The skin tones look very detailed and natural throughout the ensemble. The highlights are handled skillfully, and the deep blacks do not appear to suffer from any compression artifacts. This is a story filled with shots where you can see an incredible amount of detail. During the journey, there is a constant supply of imagery that provides a nice reference to showcase the depth at play. There are no serious signs of any noise or other such digital nuisances outside of some fleeting banding. This presentation holds up very well. Audio Quality The Blu-Ray disc comes with a DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track that represents this one without a hiccup. Dialogue comes through crisp and clear without ever being drowned out by the environmental effects or the score. There are a handful of bustling moments that give the track more of an exciting presence, but the hilarious exchanges are the focus. The music is showcased impeccably here with an immersive use of the surround speakers. The sound design is deftly deployed with all of the sounds positioned just right in the mix. The environmental effects create a robust soundscape of straightforward and heightened cinematic flourishes. Activity in the low end knows when to spring to life for a few key moments. This is an ideal release that brings the movie to life in a splendid way. Optional English SDH subtitles provided. Special Features Audio Commentary: Director Paul Briganti and Actors/Co-Writers Martin Herlihy, John Higgins, and Ben Marshall provide a lively and informative commentary track in which they discuss some secrets of the production, parts that they had to cut down, friends who are in the movie in small roles, the evolution of certain moments, and more. Deleted Scenes: There are nearly four minutes of unused material provided here. Gag Reel: A three-minute collection of flubbed lines, malfunctioning props, laughing fits, and more. Final Thoughts Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain is an outrageously funny feature film that is stacked wall-to-wall with clever and absurd jokes. There are tons of funny character actors populating the ensemble, but the story keeps the focus on the core trio, and it works all the better for it. The beginning of the third act begins to feel a bit tedious, yet the overall experience is so much fun. This one feels destined for a cult following in the future. Shout! Studios has given this film a Blu-Ray with a terrific A/V presentation and a great selection of features. David Dastmalchian Cast as M. Bison in Legendary's New STREET FIGHTER Movie — GeekTyrant
David Dastmalchian has officially scored a big role as the iconic villain M. Bison in Legendary's upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie, based on Capcom's awesome video game franchise. Legendary hasn't commented, but this is a massive gig for Dastmalchian, who's built a killer résumé over the past two decades with the projects he's starred in, and he's going to be great in this role! The actor recently appeared in Mike Flanagan's The Life of Chuck , and gave an impressive performance in the horror film Late Night with the Devil . While plot details for Street Fighter are still being kept under wraps, anyone familiar with the games knows that M. Bison is the main puppet master. He's the ruthless head of Shadaloo, a global criminal syndicate involved in weapons trafficking, mind control, and good old-fashioned world domination. In the lore, he's also the force behind the global martial arts tournament that sets the stage for the series. Dastmalchian isn't new to villainy as he's set to appear as Mr. 3 in One Piece Season 2, has a role in Dexter: Resurrection , and recently co-starred in Apple's Murderbot series with Alexander Skarsgård. But stepping into the role of M. Bison puts him at the center of one of gaming's most legendary franchises. Joining Dastmalchian in the Street Fighter lineup are Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns, Orville Peck, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, and Andrew Schulz. Bad Trip director Kitao Sakurai is helming the project. Dastmalchian continues to stay busy and he's currently filming the psychological thriller Kodak SuperXX alongside Kelly Marie Tran, and he's also part of Bryan Fuller's upcoming horror project Dust Bunny.
