Be born between
January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028

, regardless of the parents' financial background.
Live Events
Can parents contribute to the Trump Account?
Yes. Parents will be allowed to make after-tax contributions up to $5,000 per year until the child turns 18. Additionally, employers can contribute up to $2,500 annually, and that amount will not count as taxable income for the employee.
This flexibility gives families an opportunity to grow their child's investment account significantly over time — potentially building a strong financial foundation by adulthood.
What is the Trump Account?
The Trump Account gives every U.S. child born from 2025 to 2028 a free $1,000 deposit to start a savings account. Parents can add up to $5,000 per year, and employers can contribute too. The money is invested and grows over time, with withdrawals allowed after age 18.
How does it compare to Roth IRAs or 529 plans?
Roth IRA
: Great for retirement, but your child needs earned income to qualify.
529 Plan
: Best for education savings, with tax-free growth and higher contribution limits.
Trump Account
: Easiest to start — no income needed, and it's automatic.
Bottom line
: The Trump Account is a strong start, but combining it with a Roth IRA or 529 plan gives you more options and tax benefits.
What other payments are Americans receiving?
In addition to the Trump Account for newborns, millions of Americans may also be eligible for
stimulus payments ranging from $300 to $1,700
, with the average check hovering around
$1,390
. These direct deposits are part of a broader government effort to ease the burden of inflation and support lower-income households.
These stimulus payments are:
Non-taxable
Expected to arrive
within days
for those who qualify
Delivered via
direct deposit
for most recipients
Each state may have slightly different rules, so it's important to check with your local tax authority or the IRS for updated eligibility and payment dates.
How to know if you're on the payout list?
For the Trump Account:
If you're expecting a child born in the 2025–2028 window, make sure they receive a Social Security number shortly after birth.
No application is needed for the initial $1,000 — it will be automatically deposited once eligibility is confirmed.
For the stimulus checks:
Ensure your banking information is current with the IRS
Double-check that your 2024 or 2025 income tax filings meet the qualifying income thresholds for federal relief payments
When will the $1,000 direct deposits start?
The rollout for the Trump Account is expected to begin mid-to-late 2025, following the birth of eligible children and confirmation of their documentation.
Stimulus payments, on the other hand, are reportedly hitting accounts within days for those already qualified — some as soon as this month.
What should families do now?
If you're planning to have a child between 2025 and 2028, you won't need to apply for the $1,000 Trump Account deposit — just make sure your child is a U.S. citizen and has a Social Security number. For everyone else, monitor IRS updates and state announcements to track your eligibility for additional stimulus payments.
This latest financial boost, whether through
child investment accounts
or
stimulus relief
, offers a critical opportunity to build long-term security and help ease short-term financial pressure.
FAQs:
1. What is the $1,000 Trump Account and who gets it?
The Trump Account is a new federal savings program giving $1,000 to every U.S. child born between 2025 and 2028 — no strings attached, just a Social Security number is needed.
2. How do I apply for the Trump Account $1,000 deposit?
You don't need to apply. The $1,000 is automatically added once your child is born and has a Social Security number.
3. Can parents or employers add more money to the Trump Account?
Yes, parents can contribute up to $5,000 per year, and employers can add $2,500 tax-free for the child — all before they turn 18.
4. Who is getting the new 2025 stimulus payments up to $1,700?
The payments go to low- and middle-income Americans, based on 2024–2025 tax filings — most are sent through direct deposit.
5. When will the $1,000 deposits and stimulus checks arrive?
The Trump Account deposits start mid-to-late 2025, while stimulus checks are already being sent within days if you're eligible.

Trouble for Pakistan and China as India strikes big deal to make these highly advanced, deadly combat drones, they are..., their features...

(Image: Martin UAV) New Delhi: After Operation Sindoor, India is preparing to buy state-of-the-art combat drones. For this, the combat drone that India is considering purchasing and incorporating technology from is the V-Bat combat drone, which is manufactured by the American defence company Shield AI. This deal is being done under an emergency purchase of $ 4.5 billion, which has been launched in view of the needs after Operation Sindoor. Although India is far ahead in drone technology, but here the need is for combat drones, in which the Indian companies are currently short of money. The biggest thing is that if the deal is finalized, then these combat drones will soon be made in India itself, because talks are also going on about technology transfer from Shield AI. What is the deal the Ministry of Defence has made for combat drones? Mint has recently published a report, according to which the Ministry of Defence is in a deal for combat drones with Shield AI. India is looking to buy V-Bat combat drones from Shield AI for the Indian Air Force (IAF). These drones are for use in war and have shown very good performance so far. Once the deal is finalised, Shield AI will first give the V-Bat combat drone to the Indian Air Force, and then it will be produced in India in a joint venture. There is a plan to produce it in India in a joint venture between JSW Defence and Shield AI. JSW Defence is a company of JSW Group. What is the total amount involved in combat drones deal? According to the report, this initial deal with the Indian Air Force will be worth $ 35 million, which is the upper limit of emergency purchase. While the joint venture that JSW Defense and Shield AI will set up for technology transfer to manufacture it in India, that deal will be worth $ 90 million. Later, this deal with the Air Force can be expanded further. Why is India so keen to enhance its indigenous combat drones? If the deal between Shield AI and the Ministry of Defence is finalised, then these drones can come to the Indian Air Force in the first half of 2026. As far as the V-Bat combat drone is concerned, the production of this indigenous drone is expected by the end of 2027. If the American company is ready to set up a joint venture in India in this way in the field of defence, then it can be considered a major achievement in the field of defence manufacturing. Because, after Operation Sindoor, India is feeling a great need to be prepared for contactless war. What are the features of V-Bat Combat Drone? The speciality of Shield AI's V-Bat combat drone is that it can be used even without GPS. Not only this, it is capable of working even in jammed network systems. This can easily give an edge to those who use these drones in modern warfare. Ukraine has shocked the whole world by using this drone against Russia. These drones can hit targets with such accuracy that the drones being made in India are not as capable as these drones. In India, Idea Forge and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) are currently making indigenous drones.

How AI is reshaping 700 US professions: Automation, augmentation, and what it means for the workforce

The growing role of AI in 700 US professions: Balancing automation and augmentation. (AI Image) Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly integrated into the workplace, impacting a wide range of professions across the US labor market. A recent study analyzing AI's effects on more than 700 occupations found that AI systems are already automating or augmenting about 25 percent of daily tasks performed in various jobs. This growing presence of AI raises questions about how work will change across industries and what it means for employees. Researchers from Anthropic , an AI company behind the assistant Claude, examined over one million text-based conversations with users at the end of 2024. Their dataset categorized tasks handled by AI as either automated—completed independently by AI—or augmented, where AI assists humans under supervision. This data provides a detailed view of AI's current role in reshaping job tasks in the US workforce. AI automates and augments different tasks across occupations The study found that AI impacts jobs differently depending on the profession. Automation occurs when AI performs tasks without human input, while augmentation requires human oversight and collaboration. On average, about 23 percent of tasks in computer and math-related jobs can be automated, reflecting the high capability of AI in technical roles. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 15+ Food That Unclog Arteries (Most People Ignore) Undo In contrast, educators and librarians experience the highest levels of augmentation, with 40 percent of their tasks potentially enhanced by AI tools. According to the Washington Post , the Anthropic research indicates that while automation may lead to lower wages and increased unemployment in some fields, augmentation tends to raise wages for more experienced workers and creates jobs in emerging areas. The researchers also pointed out limitations, noting that their analysis focuses solely on text-based AI interactions, possibly underestimating AI's influence in professions that rely heavily on image or video generation, such as fashion or interior design. Tech industry feels early impacts of AI The technology sector has already experienced significant changes due to AI integration. Approximately 56 percent of tasks within computer and math jobs are either automated or augmented, with a tendency towards automation. The Washington Post reports that AI systems now write more than a quarter of the code at companies like Microsoft and Google, and IBM has replaced several hundred human resources workers with AI applications. About 3.8 percent of the US labor force, or over 6 million people, work in tech. These positions have traditionally been well-paid and recession-resistant. However, the rapid advancement of AI is altering this landscape. The Washington Post quoted researchers emphasizing that although AI may create new job categories, such as AI security developers and ethics engineers, current trends indicate more layoffs than new hires in tech fields. Key statistics on AI automation and augmentation across US professions Category Description Percentage of tasks automated Percentage of tasks augmented Overall workforce impact AI automates or augments about 25% of daily tasks across 700+ US professions ~25% ~25% Computer and math jobs Highest automation risk; AI automates many coding and technical tasks 23% average automation Included in overall augmentation Tech sector 56% of tasks automated or augmented, skewed more towards automation; AI writes 25%+ of code 56% - Educators and librarians Highest augmentation scores; AI assists with 40% of their job tasks Lower automation 40% Tech workforce size Over 6 million people (3.8% of US labour force) work in tech jobs - - AI impact limitations Dataset focuses on text-based AI interactions; underestimates impact on visual and design jobs - - Data source: Anthropic dataset and US labour statistics, as reported by the Washington Post. AI's impact in the workforce Workers across sectors are encouraged to understand AI's capabilities and incorporate the technology into their daily tasks. Using AI for routine activities, research, and communication can help employees augment their work and increase productivity. The Washington Post advises individuals to stay informed about AI's strengths, limitations, and ethical considerations to prepare for ongoing changes. Anthropic's dataset highlights that AI's effects vary widely, and its long-term impact remains uncertain as technology evolves and regulations develop. By the end of 2024, AI's role in the workforce included automating or augmenting roughly one-quarter of daily tasks across occupations. While automation tends to reduce employment and wages in some areas, augmentation may offer benefits, especially for experienced workers in specific fields. As AI continues to advance, understanding its influence on job functions will be critical for workers and employers alike. The balance between automation and augmentation will likely shape the future of work in the US economy. TOI Education is on WhatsApp now. Follow us here . Ready to navigate global policies? Row over banking, NBFC, gas supply services can now be redressed through Lok Adalats

New Delhi: Lieutenant governor VK Saxena gave his approval on Tuesday to include banking, non-banking financial companies and gas supply services as public utilities for the "swift resolution" of disputes through permanent Lok Adalats. According to an official, a proposal to this effect was sent by Delhi govt's law department, citing an increasing volume of disputes pertaining to banking and other financial institutions and the supply of gas services in the city. The move, said officials, was expected to provide "faster, more equitable and efficient" legal redressal for a large segment of the population dealing with common service-related grievances. Three permanent Lok Adalats are currently functional in Delhi for the resolution of electricity-related disputes involving the private Discoms. Delhi State Legal Services Authority is also in the process of setting up another permanent Lok Adalat to cater to other public utility services that include transport, postal and telecom, water supply, public sanitation, health and insurance. The proposal stated that these three services were closely aligned with the characteristics of public utility services. Given the increasing volume of disputes and cases in these sectors, there was a pressing need to ensure expeditious, cost-effective and amicable resolution of such matters. Further, disputes related to these services often involved people who could not afford prolonged litigation and, therefore, the permanent Lok Adalats could provide a simplified and affordable alternative for resolving such disputes.
