SA's biggest beauty pageant has been pushed beyond August.
A wave of disappointment has flooded social media after the Miss SA organisation announced that the biggest and the highly anticipated beauty pageant in Mzansi has been postponed.
The prestigious national event, Miss SA, which usually takes place annually in August, has been delayed.
The announcement comes after fans have been expressing their concern over the prolonged silence regarding the 2025 beauty pageant and no announcement being made about the top 30 after the applications were closed in April.

Taking to social media on Monday, July 21, the organisation officially announced and confirmed what beauty pageant enthusiasts have been anticipating: a postponement.
'The Miss South Africa Organisation today announced the postponement of Miss South Africa from August to a later date in 2025; to ensure greater alignment with international and other global events.
'The organisation, through its affiliated companies, aims to broaden the reach and impact of the pageant and its contestants,' they wrote.
The organisation further added that other changes that were made include expanding it in the following areas: entrepreneurship, job creation, cultural awareness and social cohesion.
In the press statement, the organisation, however, did not confirm the date on which the pageant will take place.
In addition, before confirming that the beauty pageant has been pushed further back to later this year, a lot of changes were made, including prominent people in the organisation announcing their departures.
Stephanie Weil, the former CEO of Miss SA announced her resignation from her position earlier this month.
Werner Wessels, the former creative director of the prestigious organisation also announced his departure in January.
On the other hand, African Fashion International (AFI), a fashion company, announced on July 10 that it has forged a partnership with the Miss SA organisation.
The company took to Instagram to announce the news of the partnership.
'While AFI and the Miss South Africa Organisation are still separate entities, we have forged meaningful partnerships and collaboration across the organisation to promote African creativity and excellence,' they wrote.
Fans flocked to the comment section as they expressed their concern over the lack of communication from the organisation.
'You know, @official_misssa, at least answer our questions!! As fans, we deserve at least this much. After Steph and Werner left, we have no confidence whatsoever in this organisation,' @hiralalljerome said.
While @iblamelukas added, 'We deserve an apology because you're also messing up our social calendars. This is a yearly event we're always looking up to.'
The Miss SA beauty pageant has always been a national event that every South African looks forward to.
From announcing the top 30 up until the finale, this prestigious event was celebrated throughout the entire country as people looked forward to having a beauty queen represent our country.
It also marked a day that would be a fashion affair, and celebrities from all over the country, including top designers, would avail themselves and grace the red carpet with their stunning outfits.

While her pose already looks tricky to get into, people are not simply copying it; they are doing it in the most insane ways possible. People are pushing their limits and their balance, striking the pose on top of stacked dumbbells, on wine bottles, and even on walls. The more ridiculous and dangerous the spot, the more likes and shares it gets. While it's tough to pinpoint who exactly started the trend, there are a few key videos that really left TikTokers stunned. With almost 15 million views, content creator Kristy Sarah made jaws drop as she effortlessly managed to balance on two dumbbells stacked on top of each other. Then there's dancer Bekah Burke, who not only executed the pose on top of a champagne bottle, but she did it wearing ballet point shoes and on the beach. Of course, South Africans got in on the crazy trend with influencer Lasizwe striking the pose on top of a dining table while balancing on a Stanley cup and holding a cake in one hand. Another South African, Lehlohonolo Mosala (@Hloniie_M), whose video reached five million views, is posing on top of an old iron balancing on a crate. Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath's bat-biting frontman, dies aged 76, BBC reports

Ozzy Osbourne, frontman of 1970s heavy metal band Black Sabbath, earned his infamy biting the head off a bat on stage and pursuing a drug-fuelled lifestyle before reinventing himself as a lovable if often foul-mouthed reality TV star. Known to fans as 'The Prince of Darkness' and the 'Godfather of Heavy Metal', Osbourne has died at the age of 76, the BBC reported, citing a family statement. He kicked off his career blaring out Black Sabbath's hits, from Paranoid to War Pigs to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath . Those plus a string of solo releases saw him sell more than 100-million records worldwide. The hard riffs and dark subject matter — from depression to war to apocalypse — combined with an instinct for Halloween theatrics. As a performer, Osbourne sprinkled audiences with raw meat and, in 1982, had his encounter with a bat thrown on stage by a fan. He always insisted he thought it was a toy until he bit into it, realised his mistake and rushed to hospital for a rabies shot. He later sold branded bat soft toys with a removable head. Osbourne was a regular target for conservative and religious groups concerned about the negative impact of rock music on young people. He always acknowledged the excesses of his lifestyle and lyrics — but poured scorn on the wilder reports that he was an actual devil-worshipper. 'I've done some bad things in my time. But I ain't the devil. I'm just John Osbourne: a working class kid from Aston who quit his job in the factory and went looking for a good time,' he said in a 2010 biography. John Michael Osbourne was the fourth of six children, growing up in Aston, in the city of Birmingham in central England. He struggled with dyslexia, left school at age 15, did a series of menial jobs, and at one point served a brief prison sentence for burglary. Then came Black Sabbath. 'When I was growing up, if you'd have put me up against a wall with the other kids from my street and asked me which one of us was gonna make it to the age of 60, with five kids and four grandkids and houses in Buckinghamshire and California, I wouldn't have put money on me, no f**king way.' It was those latter stages of his life that provided the setting for his reinvention in 2002 as the star of US TV show The Osbournes . Cameras followed the ageing rock god ambling round his huge house, pronouncing on events in his heavy Birmingham accent and looking on bemused at the antics of his family — a format that won them all legions of new fans. Osbourne's family included wife and manager Sharon, five children including Jack, Kelly and Aimee, and several grandchildren. Reuters
