Radzi replacing Peja as PN info chief?
PETALING JAYA : A social media post by PAS leader Ahmad Fadhli Shaari has sparked speculation over a possible change in Perikatan Nasional's leadership lineup.
In the Facebook post, the Pasir Mas MP said Bersatu vice-president Radzi Jidin chaired a meeting in his capacity as PN's information chief.
'The PN information and communications department meeting today was chaired by Radzi Jidin, PN's information chief,' he said in a Facebook post.
Radzi also shared a video of himself leading the meeting, though he did not clarify whether he was officially appointed to the role.

In December, Bersatu vice-president Ahmad Faizal Azumu, commonly known as Peja, was named PN's information chief, taking over from Azmin Ali, who was made secretary-general.
Radzi was simultaneously appointed to the coalition's Supreme Council, along with fellow Bersatu vice-president Ronald Kiandee.
To date, PN has not issued any official statement on a leadership reshuffle involving Faizal or Radzi.
Previously, PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar announced his resignation as PN treasurer-general, a move he said was unrelated to any internal discord. The post remains vacant.

The Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living added that the meeting with division leaders included all division heads in the state, whether winners or losers in the party's recent internal elections. 'We want to bring everyone back together, because there's a lot of work to be done. We are not fighting enemies-we are having disputes among siblings. Therefore, unity and togetherness are crucial to move the party forward,' she said. On another note, Fuziah said the PKR president also stressed that there is no issue of membership suspension involving nine of its Members of Parliament. She said the Prime Minister explained that the matter does not arise as all the MPs were merely voicing their views on people's issues. 'The party president clarified that the issue does not arise, as these are MPs who have a right to raise matters concerning the people. It's just that sometimes, criticism should be discussed beforehand… the situation does not warrant suspension of membership,' she said. Madani gov't trolled for using KSN to ban civil servants from joining 'Turun Anwar' rally
DETRACTORS have questioned the rationale behind the call for civil servants to stay away from this Saturday's (July 26) PAS-inspired 'Turun Anwar' rally. This is because civil servants must adhere to the pledge enshrined in the Rukun Negara, particularly by upholding the principle of loyalty to king and country, according to Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar. 'They cannot attend. Civil servants recite the pledge every day, every week,' justified Shamsul who succeeded Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali on Aug 10 last year. 'Have they forgotten? Be loyal to the king and country,' he said after launching the Association of Former Students of Mara Junior Science Colleges (ANSARA) Sports Carnival 2025 in Putrajaya yesterday (July 20). While Shamsul did not specify if the nature of disciplinary action to be taken on errant civil servants, a majority of commenters to the NST Online Facebook post of Shamsul's message felt that it is unbecoming of the Madani government to even use the KSN as its protective shield. After all, they recounted that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had in fact instigated civil servants to take to the streets to protest against injustice inflicted on him, notably his sacking as deputy PM following which the Reformasi movement was born. After all. Saturday is an off day to most civil servants, henceforth it is their right to decide what they wish to do during their spare time so long as their action does not disrupt their workflow. Therefore, Shamsul's directive is deemed as both 'army twisting method and double standard'. As a learned commenter put it, the KSU cannot deny the basic rights and freedom of all citizens as enshrined in the Federal Constitution, namely the right to free speech and the right to assemble and association. '(The) KSU is clearly fear mongering and threatening civil servants,' he attested. As a commenter aptly pointed out, the Madani government has nothing to fear if it is doing a good job 'unless this Madani (government) is so unstable that it feared that the opposition might influence their (civil servants) support towards this government'. Another contended that 'a democracy would not order such a thing but civil servants can be reminded that action can be taken against them if their behaviour during such a rally led to arrest and/or detention'. In fact, a commenter opined that civil servants are duty-bound 'to speak out if the government is harming the country'. The bottom-line as one commenter noted, 'public sector workers will STILL go to work tomorrow if the government falls or a new government comes in'. Ex-military, police officers to serve as wardens at 2 Mara colleges

(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) has appointed retired military and police officers as hostel wardens for two Mara Junior Science Colleges (MRSMs) under a pilot initiative starting next month. Mara chairman Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the two colleges are MRSM Besut in Terengganu and MRSM Balik Pulau in Penang, with the appointment of not more than 10 male and female wardens, Bernama reported. 'We have conducted a series of interviews and we've shortlisted candidates. God willing, they will begin their duties in August. 'The standard operating procedures have also been provided and we will continue with the training,' he told reporters after opening the Bukit Gantan Umno meeting today. In April, Asyraf announced Mara's plan to appoint hostel wardens from among former police and military personnel for selected MRSMs to curb bullying. He said Mara would monitor the six-month trial period to evaluate the pros and cons of the initiative. Asyraf said today the appointment of wardens from among retired military and police personnel did not mean they would use harsh disciplinary methods. 'We are starting this initiative with clear SOPs and strong foundational guidelines so that our children receive proper supervision and attention for their development in a safe hostel environment. 'We want to reassure parents that we do not compromise when it comes to bullying, be it physical or mental,' he said. FMT previously quoted criminologist Shahul Hamid Abd Rahim as urging Mara not to grant full authority to former military and police officers appointed as hostel wardens at MRSMs. Shahul Hamid said proper supervision and clear SOPs were needed to manage students, not harsh methods, commonly used in training security forces. He said there was a real concern that these former officers might rely on a forceful approach towards students. Last month, six students from MRSM Besut were expelled for bullying a 14-year-old student. In April, seven students from an MRSM campus in Penang faced expulsion after a video showing the bullying of a fellow male student went viral.
