Deion Sanders to hold press conference with Colorado medical team amid mysterious health battle
Sanders tweeted 'Back and Feeling Great!' on X on Friday morning with his third season as Colorado's coach nearing, and will hold a press conference Monday with his medical team, which features staffers from CU Anschutz and UC Health, to 'provide general and team updates,' the school said in a release.
The 57-year-old Sanders has not offered many details about the mysterious illness that has kept the camera friendly coach out of the spotlight this offseason.

He missed part of the Buffaloes' spring and summer workouts due to the health issue, per ESPN, and also did not attend contract-stipulated summer football camps.
Sanders told former NFL star cornerback Asante Samuel in May that 'what I'm dealing with right now is at a whole other level.'

The NFL Hall of Famer has battled various health scares in recent years, including having two toes amputated in 2021 and 2023 surgery for blood clots in his left leg.
Sanders got a little testy at Big 12 media day earlier this month when pressed about the issue, although he downplayed any concern to ESPN.

'I'm already back,' Sanders told ESPN on July 9 at Big 12 media day. 'I'm here today. I'm handling my responsibilities. So I look forward to it. I can't wait. You've got to understand, some of the young (players) I haven't even met yet. I'm so excited about that.'

Sanders spent plenty of time this offseason at his compound in Canton, Texas, with his children joining him and providing infrequent health updates.

He said in a YouTube video posted July 20 by his oldest son, Deion Jr.. that, 'You know I'm still going through something' and 'I ain't all the way recovered.'
Deion Jr. then referenced a 'battle that was fought and won' at the compound in his last YouTube video posted July 23.

Deion also recently visited son Shilo Sanders at the Buccaneers' facility while the undrafted safety attempts to crack the reigning NFC South champions' roster.

'I'm kind of sad, I'm not gonna lie to you,' Deion Jr. said of leaving the compound. 'I learned to really actually love this place. … It's not even just about being here. It was like the battle that was fought here. The battle that was fought and won here. That's like the main important thing. Boys didn't left the house for two months.
'It's a blessing. He's gonna tell y'all whatever he went through very soon, and I've got a lot of it recorded on video. So, you'll be able to see what he went through.'
Sanders faces perhaps his toughest coaching challenge this upcoming season since becoming Colorado's coach prior to the 2023 season.
He will no longer have reigning Heisman winner and two-way phenom Travis Hunter, the No. 2 pick in the draft, or quarterback son Shedeur Sanders, who fell to the fifth round.

The Buffaloes open the season at home Aug. 29 against Georgia Tech.

Marcus Morris Sr., the longtime NBA player and occasional ESPN commentator, was arrested Sunday, July 27 in South Florida on a felony fraud charge for writing a check with insufficient funds, according to online arrest records in Broward County, Florida. He served as a guest NBA commentator with ESPN in recent months, with frequent appearances on "Get Up" and "First Take." Morris has also played for the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers during his NBA career. Yony Noy, the agent who represents both Morris brothers, also came to Marcus Morris' defense after his arrest became public and noted on social media that the charges were gambling related. "Just so everyone understands this is zero fraud here or whatever crap outlets have said regarding fake checks or whatever the hell," Noy wrote on X. "This is due to an outstanding marker with a casino. Apparently if you have over $1,200 they can issue a warrant for your arrest. Absolute insanity!"

Daniel Cormier fires back at Jon Jones over UFC weigh-in show assumption
Daniel Cormier is over Jon Jones assuming he's always the topic of conversation. The latest chapter of the never-ending saga between Cormier in Jones stems from the UFC 318: Morning Weigh-in Show, where Cormier responded to the rapid-fire question: If you were to fight your enemy anywhere or a random place, where would it be? "I kind of want the ability to kill him, so I'd like to do it at my house," Cormier said on the show. Dan Hellie followed up by asking who Cormier would be fighting. Paul Felder quipped, "I think we know." Cormier laughed, and Hellie added, "Does it rhyme with Mon Mones?" The panel's laughter continued, and Cormier clarified by stating, "I don't dislike Jon Jones, I think he's fine." Jones caught wind of the moment, and fired off a couple of messages on X (formerly Twitter) in reaction to the moment. "DC said he wants to kill me at this house," Jones wrote. "I already buried him twice in the Octagon. Third time I'm bringing a shovel." Jones continued in response to someone who attempted to clarify that Cormier did not state that directly. "A blind man can see the mansion I own in Daniel's head," Jones wrote. "I just didn't realize how deep his hate still runs. Piastri beats Norris to win Formula 1's rain-delayed Belgian Grand Prix

Piastri beat his McLaren teammate and title rival Lando Norris to win Formula 1's Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday after heavy rain delayed the start. Piastri powered past his teammate and title rival Norris on the first racing lap after the safety car pulled into the pits on lap four, following a delay to the start of more than an hour. 'I knew I was going to try and lift (off the accelerator) a little bit less than Lando did and try to make it stick,' said Piastri, admitting his car felt 'lively' as he took on the extra risk through the steeply uphill Eau Rouge corner. Norris suggested over the radio he was having issues with the battery providing his electric power. McLaren chief executive Zak Brown told broadcaster Sky Sports that there was 'a small battery issue which we've got to look at.' Norris reduced Piastri's lead toward the end of the race but the Australian held on with worn tires and Norris couldn't get close enough to challenge. Charles Leclerc was third for Ferrari after he kept Red Bull's Max Verstappen behind him all race. Title battle Piastri extended his championship lead over Norris from nine points to 16 and denied his British teammate a third Grand Prix win in a row. It was the second straight day that Piastri held off Norris after taking second place ahead of his teammate in Saturday's sprint, won by Max Verstappen. Except for the weather, Piastri's overtake of Norris was almost a copy of Verstappen's opening-lap pass on the Australian from second on the grid in the sprint. Piastri had been disappointed to qualify second for the Grand Prix behind Norris, but it 'turns out starting second at Spa is not so bad after all,' he said. Piastri took his sixth win of the season and is the first McLaren driver to win the Belgian Grand Prix since Jenson Button in 2012. Hamilton's surge to seventh Unlike the thrilling and chaotic last race in Britain, there was no significant rain after the race finally got underway and Sunday's race was largely a procession after a few early attacks on the still-wet track. Most key contenders switched to dry tires at roughly the same time and didn't have to stop again.
