MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Napheesa Collier scored 23 points, Kayla McBride added 20 and the Minnesota Lynx rolled to a 102-63 win over Connecticut on Sunday, the Sun's ninth straight loss.
Ahead by 10 after one quarter, the Lynx scored the first 21 points of the second to lead 50-26 at halftime. Collier had 15 points in the third quarter, when Minnesota outscored the Sun 27-15.

Courtney Williams had 12 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals for the Lynx (14-2), who are 8-0 at home. Minnesota had 11 of 12 players score on the way to a season-high total. Only Karlie Samuelson, who sustained an ankle injury after playing three minutes in the first half, did not score.
McBride had five 3-pointers, one more than the Sun, to give her 653 for her career. That moved her past Kristi Tolliver for seventh in league history.
Reserve Aneesah Morrow had 16 points, 11 rebounds and five steals for the Sun (2-15), who shot 35%. Olivia Nelson-Ododa added 10 points.
Most starters for both teams sat out the fourth quarter. Reserve Natisha Hiedeman had 10 points and seven assists for the Lynx, who had 27 assists on 36 baskets.
Minnesota is home against Indiana on Tuesday to defend its Commissioner's Cup title. The game does not count in the regular-season standings.

Wild's home will have new name for first time in 2025-26: Grand Casino Arena
ST. PAUL, Minn. — As the Minnesota Wild usher in their 25th anniversary season, their home arena will take on a new name for the first time in franchise history. The organization announced Monday that Xcel Energy Center will be renamed Grand Casino Arena in the fall. The Wild worked with Oak View Group to help with the sale of their naming rights and connected with dozens of potential partners. In the end, the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, which founded Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Hinckley in the early 90s, agreed to a 14-year partnership. Advertisement 'We love the fact that Grand Casino is local and has been part of our community for decades,' Wild CEO Matt Majka told The Athletic. 'We are thrilled to go forward with them.' Sept. 3 is the targeted date for the official name change. That would give time for the exterior signage to be manufactured and attached to the arena and for the new website to go live. The first event of Grand Casino Area is scheduled to be a Jason Aldean concert Sept. 6. Xcel Energy, a Minneapolis-based company, held the naming rights to the arena since 2000. It will continue to be a sponsor of the Wild and have a presence in the arena and provide grants to youth and high school organizations. The new agreement with Grand Casino will provide it with substantial exposure and programming throughout the arena and obviously on the exterior. 'It will be our largest and most pervasive sponsorship in terms of recognition and profile and presence,' Majka said. 'Xcel Energy will continue to be a very significant partner. We recently announced a long-term renewal with them as an ongoing corporate partner, and we're incredibly appreciative of the long-standing partnership we've had with them and thrilled that it's going to continue.' The Chicago Bears made a concerted effort to improve their offensive line this offseason after quarterback Caleb Williams was sacked a league-high 68 times during his rookie season. The Bears completely overhauled the interior, which started with the trades for All-Pro guard Joe Thuney and former Pro Bowl guard Jonah Jackson. They signed center Drew Dalman in free agency while drafting Ozzy Trapilo, who's a contender to start at left tackle as a rookie. Advertisement But it's the duo of Thuney and Jackson that's garnering high praise from those around the league, where Pro Football Focus dubbed the pair the NFL's best guard duo entering the 2025 season. While there's no denying Thuney is one of the league's best, PFF believes Jackson could find his stride, as he's reunited with Ben Johnson in Chicago, and make this 1-2 punch the most formidable. "The NFL seems to lack an elite guard duo right now, but the Bears' offseason acquisitions on the interior profile as the league's best," writes Buday. "Jackson played only 267 snaps with the Rams in 2024 and was benched despite having signed a big contract last offseason. In previous years, he ranked among the top 30 guards in PFF overall grade multiple times under then-Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who is now the Chicago Bears' head coach. Slightly above-average play from Jackson could be enough to make this duo the best in the NFL. "Joe Thuney is arguably the best pass-blocking guard in the NFL. Before moving to left tackle in 2024, he was playing some of the best football of his career. Between Week 5 and Week 12, he allowed only one pressure on 316 pass plays and earned a 95.6 PFF pass-blocking grade, which led all guards by a significant margin." Thuney is a two-time First-Team All-Pro, three-time Pro Bowler and four-time Super Bowl winner and one of the best guards in the entire NFL. Thuney's an elite pass blocker and has been the best pass-blocking guard, per Pro Football Focus, since 2021 with a 90.2 grade. Jackson, a Pro Bowl selection in 2021, is a versatile offensive lineman who has played all three positions along the interior and brings experience alongside right tackle Darnell Wright.
