Episode 9
Episode 9 of Dear Hongrang begins with Yeol-guk believing that Hong-rang has taken Jae-yi hostage. Mu-jin claims to have proof of Hong-rang's fake identity. But in exchange, he wants to be reinstated as the guildmaster. He also wants Yeol-guk to disown him so he can marry Jae-yi. Yeol-guk agrees and sends him to capture Hong-rang.
But Yeon-ui believes that Yeol-guk has framed her son. She orders Yuk-son to take all her guards to rescue Hong-rang and kill Jae-yi and Mu-jin.
We even have Kkot-nim who orders Gyu-ha to use the distraction to find Yeol-guk's main patron. She is also colluding with the Deputy Leader and orders him to slow down Yeol-guk and Yeon-ui's men, find Hong-rang and kill Jae-yi. At the last command, In-hoe looks worried.
Meanwhile, Hong-rang and Jae-yi camp for the night. He wonders if she regrets running away. She doesn't, as he showed her what love is. She believes she can survive anything with him. Their peace is interrupted as Mu-jin, Yeon-ui and Kkot-nim's men get close. Thankfully, Jae-yi and Hong-rang are able to escape as the three troops try to thwart each other.
Mu-jin re-reads Jae-yi's farewell note which says that she has found her purpose with Hong-rang. She hopes Mu-jin can find his purpose apart from the guild. He wishes he could have told her that he doesn't want the guild but her. He secretly orders his aide to misguide Yeon-ui's men and the assassins so that he can get to Jae-yi before them.
The couple's luck runs out when Jae-yi is identified when she heads into a town for supplies. She narrowly escapes but she is poisoned. Hong-rang hides her in a cave and nurses her. Once she recovers, he lures the troops away. He then confronts his assassins and promises to return and complete their mission after she is safe. They agree and he heads back.
However, she is missing and he panics. She finds him, having gone searching for him. Relieved, they sleep together in the cave. But Hong-rang keeps his back tattoo covered throughout it.
Yeol-guk is frustrated by the endless search and asks the Grand Prince for an army. The prince wants to punish Yeol-guk for his impudence but he has leverage. Turns out, Hong-rang's back tattoo is the Grand Prince's yin-yang masterpiece.
In the woods, some travellers take mercy and point Hong-rang and Jae-yi to an abandoned house in the mountains. It is peaceful and they settle in. Jae-yi is playful and Hong-rang indulges her. That night, she cries for her brother and Hong-rang promises not to leave her. It cuts to a montage of them being cute and domestic. Hong-rang even finds a peddler and buys a hairpin for her. One day, he coughs and his vision blurs for a second. The scar on his neck is inflamed and he looks worried.
Bad news follows as Mu-jin's aide finds the travellers. He forces them to drug Jae-yi and attempts to kidnap her. Hong-rang tries to stop him but he is too busy fighting Mu-jin's men. Yeon-ui's men attack and it is a bloodbath as they try to kill Jae-yi. The Grand Prince's royal guards arrive in full force and take the couple to the Sims.
At the end of Dear Hongrang Episode 9, Yeol-guk demands a confession but Hong-rang just smirks. In retaliation, he tears Hong-rang's shirt which reveals his tattooed back. Both Yeon-ui and Jae-yi are horrified. Hong-rang is ashamed and tries to cover himself up. He believes that his torture makes him inhuman.
The Episode Review
Dear Hongrang Episode 9 is the calm before the storm as it focuses on the chase and allows the couple some happiness. And this chapter proves that Lee Jae-wook and Jo Bo-ah have the chemistry for a sweet romance as much as for the enemies-to-lovers bickering. Poor Mu-jin just didn't have a chance.
Unfortunately, with only 2 episodes left, we doubt there will be any more romance as the show needs to pack in the Painter's diabolical schemes and his potential downfall. Let's not forget that the real Hong-rang is still missing and Kkot-nim is yet to enact her revenge on the Min Guild.
We also have to talk about this chapter's ending which is most definitely the highlight. We get the big reveal which is not only the confirmation that the Grand Prince is the Evil Painter but also the artist behind Hong-rang's tattoo. It is beautiful and gruesome, in line with the Grand Prince's warped ideals about art.
We also get a snippet of Hong-rang's thought process and why he keeps his tattoo a secret. Poor guy just cannot catch a break. And what was the coughing and hazy vision thing? Boy, we sure do hope it isn't anything bad…

With You and The Rain – Season 1 Episode 4 Recap & Review

Summer Festival Episode 4 of With You and The Rain begins with Fuji's father bringing home matching (and tacky) T-shirts for Fuji and You. But no matter how much he pleads, neither You nor Fuji is interested in wearing them. Fuji ultimately has her way by threatening to tell her mother about his secret smoking habit. The scene shifts to Fuji arriving home to a waiting You on a rainy day. The two quietly enjoy a peaceful bath together. As thunder strikes, she comforts a frightened You and reminisces about being a quiet child growing up. The next day, her parents ask if she wants to join them for fireworks. Even though it goes against You's wishes, Fuji asks Kii-chan and her fierce dog if they would like to come along to the summer festival with them. On the day of the festival, You is relieved to find that Kii-chan's dog won't be joining them, while also trying to escape Fuji's father, who attempts to dress You like himself. 'It's tacky!' says You, holding up a cue card to the devastated old man. Fuji, Kii-chan, and her family enjoy the festival and all the treats it brings, with You having a blast. Fuji stays back with You while the others head off to find their spot for the fireworks. But just as she's buying a treat for You, he suddenly disappears. Fuji frantically searches for him as the fireworks begin. Eventually, she finds him along the shrine path and follows him into the shrine, only to realise that he'd brought her to the best hidden spot to enjoy the fireworks. It's just the two of them there, soaking in the peace and beauty of the moment. The Episode Review In another adorable episode of With You and The Rain, we delve deeper into Fuji and You's connection. What's striking is how the narrative arc begins with You struggling to understand Fuji, yet ends with him intuitively guiding her to the perfect, quiet place for watching the fireworks. For a moment, it almost felt like the anime might veer into a mystical twist, with Fuji following the quietly vanishing You into a shrine but instead, it becomes a touching reveal of how well You has come to understand Fuji's peaceful nature and how she finds joy in beauty and silence. Though the anime doesn't have a central plot or high-stakes action, its episodic storytelling works beautifully. Each episode gently peels back layers of Fuji's personality and her growing bond with You, who brightens her world in the softest and most respectful way possible. The small moments of comic relief, like the tacky T-shirt gag, add charm without disrupting the serenity the show is built on. With You and The Rain continues to deliver exactly what it promises: comfort, connection, and quiet companionship and it's absolutely working! I lived on a cruise ship – we got no days off but you did get free food and didn't have to pay tax or rent

A TRAVEL fan has revealed what it was really like to live and work on a cruise ship. Anaya Daisy, who is currently exploring Thailand but was previously working on a cruise ship in the shore excursions department, claimed that during her stint on the ship, she never got any days off. Despite this, she revealed the benefits to living on a cruise ship and explained that not only was the food free, but she didn't have to pay any rent or tax either. Posting on social media, the brunette got candid on cruise ship life, as she said: 'Do you get days off while working on a cruise ship? Now, this is a question I get asked quite a lot, both by people off the ship and then guests that are actually on the ship, but the answer, unfortunately, is no, we don't get any days off.' Anaya explained that 'most of the crew' don't get any days off, as it is 'an unwritten rule' that you work the entirety of your contract. The content creator, who doesn't have to pay tax whilst on board, acknowledged that contracts can range from anywhere for three months up to nine months. She added: 'Because the cruise is running nearly every day of the year, we can't have any days off because obviously, we're gonna have passengers, and who's gonna look after the passengers if everyone's having days off? 'Yes, this does sound like a lot, and yes, it sometimes does feel like a lot, but even though we're working seven days a week, that doesn't necessarily mean that you're gonna be working all of the entire day.' Anaya then expressed that rather than having a day off, many departments will get the middle of the day off to relax and explore the cruise ship. Her hours vary, but she never works more than 10 hours a day. But Anaya, who gets free food onboard and is allowed to eat at the crew buffet, isn't bothered by never having a full day off, as she claimed that there are 'so many perks of working on a cruise ship.' In particular, for Anaya, who lives in a 'basic' but free shared accommodation with bunk beds, waking up in a different country every day is something she finds 'literally insane.' I 'live' on a cruise ship with my son & fiancé - the food's amazing, there's childcare & our laundry's done for free too Not only this, but she then continued: 'Although that's not a full day off, you're still getting time to actually enjoy the ports that we're going to and enjoy the countries that we're visiting. 'It might sound kind of crazy that we don't have any days off, especially if you have a really long contract, but you just get used to it after a bit and I suppose it's the price you pay for seeing the world, so, yeah, I really don't mind.' Social media users react Anaya's TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 94,300 views, 3,220 likes and 107 comments. Social media users were stunned by Anaya's full on work life on the ship and many were eager to know more about life on board. It might sound kind of crazy that we don't have any days off, especially if you have a really long contract, but you just get used to it after a bit Anaya Daisy One person said: 'Up to nine months without a day off is crazy!' Another added: 'Love the ship content.' A third commented: 'That sounds so full on, sounds amazing though.' Pros and cons of going on a cruise ship Whether you're considering a long holiday, working remotely or even living on board a cruise ship for a few months or years, here are the pros and cons from a former cruise shipper. Pros Travel the world, learn and experience new cultures Meet new people Don't have to think or worry about room cleaning, or food Cons Internet connection can be painfully slow and expensive Limited luggage allowance so have to wear the same clothes on rotation Having no control of where the ship would go next and the possibility of visiting the same ports Having the same onboard entertainment, on-demand movies, and little choice of TV channels No fresh newspapers or new books unless someone adds them to the library Relatively the same food week after week unless major menu changes occur seasonally. Occasional rough seas, bad weather and viral outbreaks while inboard. Meanwhile, one user asked: 'Genuine question because I want to work on a cruise but how do you see the world if you don't get a day off?' To this, Anaya confirmed: 'Because sometimes we have breaks off in the middle of the day and I work in the excursions department so I spend a lot of time on the trips and seeing the places that way.' At the same time, someone else questioned: 'What happens if you get really sick?' Setting the record straight, Anaya explained: 'You would see the medical centre if you were ill. If they thought you were too sick to work then you'd get 'signed off'. If you've not been signed off by medical then you'd still have to work.' Not only this, but one person wondered: 'How common is cheating?'

I got kicked out of a wedding because of my ‘inappropriate' outfit… people say the ‘horrid' bride got married ‘for show'

A MOTHER has revealed that she travelled two hours to a wedding, only to be kicked out because of her "inappropriate" outfit. The mum-of-two, who is from the US and is a Korean language student, explained that not long after arriving at the nuptials, she was confronted by the bride about the colour of her dress. 2 Fuming with the situation, Elisé Brown acknowledged that when talking to the bride, she was told there was a 'dress code' which her colourful frock didn't meet. Eager to alert others to the awkward ordeal, posting on social media, the content creator uploaded a clip with the caption 'Got kicked out of a wedding reception for being out of a dress code I didn't know existed!' As she filmed herself sitting in her car, the nurse said: 'So I am currently sitting in my car because I came two hours to a wedding for one of my husband's friends and we have been here a total of 15 minutes, and the bride comes up to me and tells me that my outfit is ' inappropriate ' for her wedding. 'There was a supposed dress code that I didn't know existed because I never got a wedding invitation mailed to my house - it was a text message that my husband received.' With intentions to celebrate the couple saying 'I Do' in style, Elisé wore a colourful dress containing dark blue, light blue, pale pink and white. But the irritated woman later confirmed that since leaving the wedding, she was informed that the dress code was 'navy, yellow, maroon or grey.' Elisé acknowledged that she had never met the bride prior to the big day, but did know the groom, as he had been friends with her husband for 20 years. She later confirmed that the bride didn't bother to greet her or formally introduce herself prior to their conversation, but was clearly not impressed with her outfit choice. After the embarrassing conversation with the 'rude' bride, Elisé 'walked out' of the wedding and headed back to her car. Clearly fuming, Elisé added: 'But in 2025, is this what brides do to their guests now? You walk up to your guests and tell them that the outfit they're wearing is not appropriate for their wedding?' I'm 5ft3 & a size 12-14 - my 7 Tesco dresses are an absolute bargain & perfect for a last-minute wedding guest outfit Stunned by the situation, the shocked mother then shared: 'I didn't know that was a thing. I mean, I've been married for 11 years. 'This is what we do to our guests? I'm kind of disappointed and I'm really ready to go home.' Social media users react The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ ebrown_rn, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and racked up 2.7 million views, 106,300 likes and 8,462 comments. But social media users were gobsmacked by the situation and many hailed the bride as 'horrid' and claimed she only got married 'for show.' One person said: 'That ain't a wedding, that's a funeral of a friendship.' Another added: 'I think dress codes at weddings are horrid. Weddings have gotten out of control.' A third commented: 'If a bride is roaming around and taking time to be rude to guests, she's got issues that you don't need to think about twice.' Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette If you're struggling to decided on a dress to see you through wedding season, here's a few rules on what not to wear so you don't get in trouble. Folklore says that wearing red at a wedding means you slept with the groom. Casual attire like jeans and flip flops should always be avoided. Any colour that could be picked up as white or cream - even if it's not. Most would agree that your cleavage needs to be covered. Wearing white is a massive no-no if you're not the bride. At the same time, someone else wrote: 'Apparently she got married for show, so that will last long and happy.' Not only this, but one user was gobsmacked and questioned: 'What??? You look fantastic!!! That's crazy!' Whilst another user sighed: 'That's very rude. I'm sorry that happened to you.' Meanwhile, one woman asked: 'And did you take your gift back with you?' To this, the woman confirmed: 'I didn't; it was only a $25 gift card. I literally walked out so quickly after her comment. I was HEATED.'
