Peacock's new 'The Office' spinoff just got an official release date — here's when you can stream it

"The Paper" is officially ready for print.
Back in May, we got a first look at a new spinoff from "The Office" about a struggling Midwestern newspaper, the Toledo Truth Teller. With that tease, we also got a vague release window for September of this year.
Now, we know that "The Paper" will premiere on Sept. 4 with a four-episode premiere on Peacock. The remaining six episodes are dropping on the streaming service in two-episode drops until the two-episode season finale on Sept. 25.
If you haven't heard about this spinoff of NBC's iconic sitcom, 'The Paper' is set in the same universe as the Emmy Award-winning mockumentary. And like with the original show, pushing paper is important.
As previously mentioned, this show is centered around the fictional newspaper, the Toledo Truth Teller. The team at The Truth Teller is struggling to keep it afloat despite the efforts of its eager publisher to revive it.
"The Paper" stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key. Plus, "The Office" star Oscar Nuñez reprises his role from the original show. Eric Rahill, Tracy Letts, Molly Ephraim, Mo Welch, Allan Havey, Duane Shepard Sr., Nate Jackson and Nancy Lenehan are set to appear in guest starring roles.
If you're worried this is just a money grab from NBC, let me assuage some of those concerns. "The Paper" brings back 'The Office' co-creator Greg Daniels and adds "Nathan for You" co-creator Michael Koman to the creative team. It also features the same documentary crew who spent their time recording life in Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch, providing some intriguing continuity from the original show.

Korean cuisine is more popular than ever

Korean cuisine — from James Beard-winning fine dining to gooey corn dog cheese pulls on TikTok — is surging in popularity across the U.S. Why it matters: The Bay Area helped make Korean food a staple in America, and that momentum is gaining. By the numbers: In 2024, there was a 10% increase in the number of Korean restaurants in the U.S., per market research firm Circana. Fast food chains offering Korean fried chicken and corn dogs are up about 15% each from last year. Korean fine dining is also on the rise. Catch up quick: Korean fried chicken first led the trend, followed by kimchi as a condiment and Korean barbecue sauces hitting grocery shelves, said Tim Fires, Circana's president of global food service. What they're saying: "Seeing how far Korean cuisine has come — it's going beyond just being a fad," Drew Paik, executive director of the Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco, told Axios. Between the lines: Los Angeles remains the center of California's Korean diaspora, Paik said, though San Francisco was the first stop for many early immigrants. Today, the Bay Area is home to 100,000 Koreans, the sixth-largest Asian population in the region, per the foundation. The big picture: "Hallyu" refers to the global rise and spread of Korean culture. The phenomenon was spearheaded by the South Korean government decades ago to boost the country's economy, writes media studies scholar Dal Yong Jin in his book " Understanding the Korean Wave." My thought bubble: I was recently blown away by the traditional gukbap I had at Sungho, a hidden gem in the Tenderloin. The hearty soup, simmered for 24 hours, is a home-cooked staple that's often difficult to find in restaurants.

This Drama-Filled 'Love Island' Spinoff Is A Top Show On Peacock Right Now

'Love Island: Beyond the Villa' is currently one of the most popular shows on Peacock, according to the platform's public ranking system. The first-of-its-kind 'Love Island USA' spinoff follows the iconic Season 6 cast for a summer in sunny Los Angeles as they catch viewers up on their friendships, relationships and life outside of the villa one year later. Appearing on the show are fan-favorites Serena Page, Kordell Beckham, JaNa Craig, Kenny Rodriguez, Leah Kateb, Miguel Harichi, Kaylor Martin, Olivia 'Liv' Walker, Kendall Washington, Aaron Evans and Connor Newsum. The new series debuted on July 13 ahead of the Season 7 finale of 'Love Island USA.' New episodes premiere on Peacock on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT beginning July 17. Read on for more trending shows of the moment across streaming services, including Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+. And if you want to stay informed about all things streaming and entertainment, subscribe to the Culture Catchall newsletter. Another new series, 'Too Much,' is trending among the top shows on Netflix right now. The Lena Dunham-created rom-com follows a broken-hearted New Yorker (Megan Stalter, 'Hacks') who flees to London in hopes of finding her love story after a horrendous breakup. But the indie musician (Will Sharpe) she falls for ends up being anything but her Prince Charming. 'Too Much' premiered on Netfix on July 10. All 10 episodes are now available to stream. 'Bachelor in Paradise' is currently the No. 1 show on Hulu. The spinoff series, which returned for Season 10 on July 7, gives former 'Bachelor' and 'Bachelorette' contestants a second (or third) chance at finding love. New episodes air on ABC on Mondays and hit Hulu the following day. A new extension of Prime Video's 'Bosch' universe is trending No. 1 on the streamer. The 'Bosch: Legacy' spinoff, 'Ballard,' centers on Detective Renée Ballard (Maggie Q) as she leads the LAPD's new (and underfunded) cold case division, tackling some of the city's most challenging long-forgotten crimes spanning decades. But as she peels back the layers on these cases, she soon uncovers a dangerous conspiracy within the department. Also starring in the show are Titus Welliver, Noah Bean, Courtney Taylor, John Carroll Lynch, Rebecca Field, Michael Mosley, Victoria Moroles, Ricardo Chavira and Alain Uy. 'Foundation' is the second most popular show on Apple TV+ right now. Based on Isaac Asimov's award-winning novels, the sci-fi drama follows a band of exiles on their journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire. The cast includes Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey and Laura Birn. The series returned for Season 3 on July 11, and will premiere new episodes weekly on Fridays.
