Transfer of listing to Main Market a step forward for Unique Fire
PETALING JAYA: Unique Fire Holdings Bhd, a fire protection systems and safety equipment provider, has transferred its listing to the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities.
The company's transition from Bursa Malaysia's ACE Market to the Main Market on Thursday comes less than three years after its initial public offering (IPO) in August 2022.
Executive director Datuk Marcus Liew Kang Leong expressed his pride in the company's achievement in transferring to the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.
'The transfer of listing of the company marks a step forward in our journey since 1997, where my father founded the company and established ourselves as one of the leading providers of fire protection systems and safety equipment in Malaysia.
'We are humbled to receive such an overwhelming response from everyone around us throughout this significant journey. This is one of the most rewarding accomplishments for Unique Fire,' he said in a statement.
Liew said that since the company's IPO for its listing on the ACE Market in August 2022, Unique Fire has made strong strides in financial performance and operational growth.
Revenue rose from RM75.74 million in financial year 2022 (FY22) to RM104.68 million in FY24, with net profit increasing from RM5.64 million to RM8.13 million.
'We've expanded our production capacity by more than 200%, increased storage space by nearly 68%, and integrated a warehouse management system.
'Geographically, we've opened two new offices in Johor Bahru and Penang to enhance the company's market presence in both the northern and southern regions,' he said.
Liew said sustainability remains key, with rooftop solar photovolataic systems reducing utility costs, while workforce and product range continue to grow.
'These milestones reflect our readiness for the Bursa Malaysia's Main Market. This is a new chapter for us, and our journey is far from over.
'With years of industry experience, we will continue our ongoing efforts to expand our product range to cater to consumers' ever-changing needs.
'We are excited for what lies ahead, and Unique Fire is confident in our proven ability to consistently build a solid foundation that supports our continued growth,' Liew said.
Unique Fire is primarily involved in the assembly, manufacture and distribution of active fire protection systems, equipment and accessories for built environments, such as fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, fire hose reels, fire hoses, fire alarms and detection devices.
Unique Fire also manufactures and distributes custom graphics for fire extinguishers.

He noted that Sabah is home to many unique, national-level specialty products with strong potential to shine in China's consumer landscape. In a press statement issued on Sunday, Liew highlighted the upcoming Henan Investment and Trade Fair, scheduled to take place from September 26 to 28, 2025, as a golden opportunity for Sabah businesses to access and connect with the China market. He shared that the organizers have allocated 30 exhibition booths to the Sabah China Economic Conference, describing it as a rare and valuable opportunity. He urged interested entrepreneurs to seize this chance to actively participate, establish connections with China business counterparts, and showcase Sabah's specialty products in China. At the same time, this platform could help attract China investments into Sabah and foster mutually beneficial, win-win partnerships, thereby contributing to the economic growth of Sabah and Malaysia as a whole. The Henan Investment and Trade Fair (Henan Fair) is the only economic and trade event in Henan Province officially approved by the China government and hosted by the Henan Provincial Government. With the theme 'Sharing New Opportunities for Development, Building a New Highland of Openness', the fair will promote two-way openness, domestic-international linkages, and a combined focus on investment, trade and consumption. It aims to support the building of a unified national market and serve as a strategic hub for dual domestic and international economic circulation. Sabah readies for Visit Malaysia Year 2026
Published on: Sunday, June 29, 2025 Published on: Sun, Jun 29, 2025 By: Wu Vui Tek Text Size: Liew joined by guests and children in traditional dresses launch the conference and expo. Kota Kinabalu: Sabah is taking strategic steps to prepare for Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and Explore Sabah 2026/2027 by showcasing authentic, inclusive, and impactful tourism experiences, said Datuk Seri Christina Liew. The State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister said among them is to focus on expanding economic opportunities for Community-Based Tourism (CBT) operators and introducing innovative approaches to elevate the sector. 'These forward-thinking efforts will not only enhance Sabah and Malaysia's competitiveness but ensure we stay rooted in our cultural values and commitment to sustainability,' said Liew at the launch of the two-day CBT Conference and Expo 2025 at Suria Sabah. She said this is a first scale event of its kind, reflecting the increasing dedication to tourism that uplifts and empowers local communities. 'It is a dynamic movement to preserves culture, protects nature and creates economic opportunities for local people. 'In a world searching for sustainable and inclusive solutions, Sabah is ready to lead by example,' said Liew. Sabah Tourism Board (STB) Chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai said the conference serves as a platform to further promote knowledge exchange among CBT practitioners, inspire local communities, and introduce global best practices that can be adapted. STB Chief Executive Officer Julinus Jeffery Jimit said many local tourism products are still in the early stages and require further support and capacity-building to grow. 'This signals a shift in the travel industry, where mass tourism is gradually giving way to a model that prioritises local community involvement,' he said. He said the aim of CBT is to improve the socio economy of the rural areas as tourism is one of the three pillars under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development plan, alongside agriculture and industry. It also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals of ending poverty, eradicating hunger, improving education and building sustainable community, he said. 'We cannot do it alone, but if we share one mission, one purpose, and if all stakeholders align, we believe we can turn these goals into reality,' he said. He the CBT activities generated around RM6 million in income across 18 districts in 2023, and increased to RM7 million last year. 'Our goal is to push the income above the poverty line index,' he said. The conference features success stories and key experts from Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan and Indonesia who will take part in knowledge-sharing and networking session aimed at strengthening local initiatives and illustrating best practices in CBT. The event is co-organised by STB and United Nations Development Programme. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news? Sabah leads the way with community-based tourism expo, says state minister
KOTA KINABALU: Community-based tourism (CBT) is more than just a travel model, it is a dynamic movement that preserves culture, protects nature, and creates economic opportunities for local communities. "In a world searching for sustainable and inclusive solutions, Sabah is ready to lead by example," said Datuk Seri Christina Liew when launching the Community-Based Tourism Conference and Expo 2025 here on Saturday (June 28). The Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister said the event marks the state's first full-scale Community-Based Tourism Conference and Expo, signalling a shift towards quality-driven, sustainable tourism that uplifts rural livelihoods. The expo featured 40 booths and 87 exhibitors, showcasing community-based tourism from across Sabah, along with participation from Penang, Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia. "Tourism should focus on value rather than volume. We do not want over-tourism," she said, adding that overpromising tourism packages could damage local culture and the environment. Liew highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to improve tourism infrastructure across Sabah. Sabah Tourism Board (STB) chief executive officer Julinus Jeffrey Jimit outlined the developmental goals of CBT. "In 2023, our 18 active districts generated about RM6mil. We estimate around RM7mil in 2024. Our goal is to raise community incomes above the poverty line," he said. Jimit noted that CBT is aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 1 (no poverty), SDG 2 (zero hunger), SDG 4 (quality education), and SDG 11 (sustainable communities). He stressed that CBT cannot succeed without a shared vision and cooperation from all stakeholders. Liew encouraged delegates to participate actively during the two-day event and apply what they learn in their own communities. "Engage deeply, network widely, and return home inspired," she said, emphasising that this movement preserves culture, protects nature, and empowers communities. The conference is part of Sabah's lead-up to the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and the Explore Sabah 2026/27 campaigns, underscoring CBT's role in shaping the future of the state's tourism industry. Also present was Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister and STB chairman, Datuk Joniston Bangkuai.
