But the huge custom-built set, including the Tall Ship pub and Oyster Cafe, will still be there when the cameras stop rolling.
And sources say BBC executives are being bombarded with questions about what will happen to it.
It comes amid suggestions fans could snap up pieces of TV history from the filming lot in Dumbarton.
An insider said: 'The question on everyone's lips has been, 'What will happen to the Shieldinch set?'.
'And the truth is, bosses have absolutely no idea.
"It's an impressive filming space and was the backdrop for so many legendary scenes.
'Many viewers feel an attachment to it. Bosses are not ruling out the possibility of auctioning off some of the props.'
Corporation chiefs decided to cancel the soap due to a 'change in viewing patterns' — as demand for long-running shows falls away.
They told MSPs last month the £9million-a-year soap was no longer 'value for money' as its audience figures were down so much that it cost too much 'per viewer' to produce.
BBC Scotland's drama budget over the next three years is expected to rise to £95million.
Tragedy looms when the O'Hara's family holiday takes a dramatic turn after a life-threatening car crash
Three new shows with shorter runs will be created for the channel — Counsels, Grams and The Young Team.
Shetland has been renewed for a tenth series while there will be third runs for Vigil and Granite Harbour.
River City's cast, including Stephen Purdon who plays Bob O'Hara, only learned it was being dumped minutes before the public was told in March.
It is understood exact details of the final episodes and whether former cast members will return have not yet been discussed.

The Repair Shop on August 5, 2025 | BBC The Repair Shop is back for another episode on the BBC. It is due to start at 8pm on BBC One/ iPlayer and will be followed by The Great British Sewing Bee. The preview for the episode via the BBC reads: 'First through the barn doors is Ruth from Nottinghamshire, carrying a weather-worn concrete portrait of her late father David, a passionate beekeeper. This remarkable artwork was commissioned as a gift to her father by Ruth herself, and it's the delicate task of paintings conservator Lucia Scalisi to restore it to its former splendour. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'However, the challenge of recreating David's faded features – and particularly the swarm of bees that accompany him – proves unexpectedly tricky for Lucia, who's more used to working with canvas, and it takes a couple of false starts before she finally hits her artistic stride. 'Next, silversmith Brenton West meets Ian and his daughter Issy, who bring in a rare and precious silver statuette of a paratrooper. One of only 100 ever made, this beautiful object belonged to Ian's father John, a proud veteran of the parachute regiment, and was one of his most treasured possessions. 'But after surviving a dramatic shipwreck off the coast of Tenerife, the statuette has been left battered and tarnished, with its silver parachute strings a torn and tangled mess. Can Brenton bring the paratrooper back from the dead, restore the statuette's shine and honour a lifetime of service?' It continues: 'Pari from Ormskirk brings in a precious heirloom from her childhood in Iran – a traditional leather baby hammock of extraordinarily intricate design, in which her own brother was once swaddled. Leather expert Suzie Fletcher has the mammoth task of reconstructing its missing loops and reinstating the decorative stitching, with only a hand-drawn diagram left by Pari's late mother to go on. Can she revive this much-loved link to Pari's past and to the Iranian in-laws who welcomed her English mother into their hearts? Now the proud possession of Trevor's fellow Hull musician Lindsey, the case and its fittings are covered in rust and barely functional. 'It's down to Dom to restore it in time for its next gig – a slot at Glastonbury – and create a new chapter in rock history.' Who are the experts on The Repair Shop?' As seen above, the preview states that the experts for the latest will include Brenton West, Dom Chinea, Suzie Fletcher and Lucia Scalisi. However, the show does feature plenty of other specialists each and every week. The regular experts on the show, as of 2025, include: Dominic Chinea - metal worker, signs restorer and foreman Steven Fletcher - clock restorer, mechanical and toy restoration Suzie Fletcher - leather worker, saddle maker Will Kirk - carpenter, cabinet-maker, furniture restorer and foreman Sonnaz Nooranvary - upholstery restorer Amanda Middleditch and Julie Tatchell - soft toy and doll restorers, known as the "Bear Ladies" Kirsten Ramsay - Sussex-based ceramics conservator Lucia Scalisi - painting conservator Brenton West - silversmith and antique photography specialist The Repair Shop also features plenty of guest and semi-regular experts as well as its regular cast. Andrew Lincoln best known for his role as Rick Grimes in the hit show The Walking Dead is returning to UK TV for the first time in over a decade as she stars in ITV's latest series Coldwater ITV has revealed the first glimpse of its upcoming thriller, Coldwater, which is set to premiere this autumn. The six-part series, which is set in Scotland, will see The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln star in his first UK TV show in over a decade. ‌ The series, written and produced by David Ireland, was filmed in Glasgow and is set in the fictional Scottish village of Coldwater. Filming for the show took place in July 2024 around Glasgow in the areas of Dennison and the city centre, as well as in Strathaven and Dunlop. ‌ While Doctor Who director Lee Haven Jones directs the first three episodes, Andrew Cumming, best known for directing Shetland, directs the second half of the series. And it's predicted to be one not to miss. ‌ The series follows Lincoln's character John, a repressed man who grows frustrated with his mundane existence as a stay at home dad. A friendly, charming man who is well loved in Coldwater, he is a pillar of the community and self appointed leader of the village's all-male book group. As Fiona strives to reignite the spark back into their fading marriage, she is wary of John and Tommy's bond, as it is increasingly becoming intense. Fiona's suspicions are correct, when John's long-repressed rage comes to head with disastrous results and he soon finds himself unexpectedly indebted to his new friend, unaware that Tommy himself is harbouring horrifying secrets. As Tommy's mask starts to slip, his shock secrets come to the surface and John begins to wonder who the real Tommy actually is. ‌ The official synopsis reads: "This is the story of a normal man, in a normal marriage, who finds himself in a far from normal situation. Coronation Street icon dyes hair ahead of making major comeback this week

Catherine Tyldesley is set to reprise her role as blonde bombshell Eva Price on Coronation Street, and has gone back to her character's signature colour in time for filming Catherine Tyldesley has dyed her hair in time for her return to Coronation Street. The actress, 41, is set to be make a major comeback onto the ITV soap as she returns to her signature role of Eva Price, seven years on from her initial exit. ‌ During her initial stint on the cobbles, Eva sported platinum blonde locks but after she quit the soap, Catherine quickly went back to her natural brunette colour as she competed on Strictly Come Dancing. She kept the darker look as she took on roles in shows such as Scarborough and Viewpoint but an Instagram post on Tuesday revealed that she is a blonde once again. ‌ The actress shared two snaps of herself posing with friends as she headed out for dinner, in Manchester and The Sun reports that the outing comes just days before she is supposed to making a return to the set at MediaCityUK to begin filming. Catherine, who was a brunette when she took on her first big role in the BBC drama Lilies prior to joining Coronation Street, previously explained that bosses just felt that it was right that barmaid Eva would have blonde hair. It comes after reports of all the celebrities rumoured to be joining BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025. ‌ In 2019, she explained during an interview on Lorraine: "When I first started Corrie I'd done a sketch show and was blonde. They felt Eva was blonde and so did I. I keep walking past windows and mirror and think 'Oh!' and forget I've done it. A lady came up to me and said I think you should be blonde." Reports surrounding the return of Leanne Battersby's sister emerged earlier this year, but then nothing was announced. Fresh reports just last week claimed the planned plot was now approaching. It's thought that the move has come about after EastEnders bosses revealed that Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) will be taking the reins of the Queen Victoria pub. Aaron McCusker, who starred as Freddie Mercury's boyfriend in the film Bohemian Rhapsody, is reportedly set to arrive alongside her as her new husband. A source told The Sun: "Corrie bosses were never going to take EastEnders shrewd decision to reinstate Kat and Alfie at the Vic lying down. So they took their time looking for the perfect actor to play her husband to Eva as she makes her return to Corrie as the new boss of the Rovers." ‌ The insider added that Corrie bosses knew they had found the 'perfect' actor as soon as the Irish-born star walked into the room. They added of his character: "Aaron's character is also someone not to be messed with, and the locals are going to be in for a shock if they think they can take advantage of his good nature and that cheeky Irish charm. "It's the start of an exciting new chapter in the pub's history." Aaron is also known for his role as Jamie Maguire in Shameless, whilst Catherine has starred in The Good Ship Murder and earlier this year appeared opposite Siobhan Finneran in an episode of the ITV drama Protection. She was also set to star in a cancelled touring production of Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical last year and went viral over a social media scandal known as Cakegate in late 2023. The actress first appeared on Coronation Street in 2011 as the daughter of Stella Price (Michelle Collins), who had arrived to take over the pub herself and also reveal herself as the long-lost mother of Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson). ‌ Over the course of seven years, Catherine saw her alter-ego through numerous relationships with the likes of Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) and Nick Tilsey (Ben Price). Her most notable relationship was with Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward), but that started to go awry when he began an affair with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon). Instead of confronting Aidan head-on about his infidelity, she took revenge by putting a bright pink Range Rover on his credit card and then decided to fake a pregnancy. Maria discovered Eva's lies and exposed them all at the wedding but Eva later discovered that she was in fact pregnant with Aidan's baby. In order to go through with the birth in secret, she went off to a remote cottage and had planned to give baby Susie away to Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor). However, Aidan later took his own life and Eva began to grow close to her daughter, eventually opting to leave in the back of a taxi with her for good. ‌ If Eva does return and take over the Rovers, she will be following in the footsteps of former characters such as Annie Walker (Doris Speed), Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear) and Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard), all of whom have helmed the nation's most famous pub over the course of the show's history. One such landlady is Jenny Connor, who is confirmed to be leaving the ITV soap.
