Burnley on verge of completing permanent deal for Chelsea forward Armando Broja
Burnley are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja. Advanced talks have taken place between the clubs and a permanent switch for the 23-year-old is expected to be finalised in the coming days. A striker has been on Burnley's wishlist all summer as the club seek to improve the goalscoring options available to head coach Scott Parker ahead of their return to the Premier League. A Chelsea academy product, Broja netted 16 goals in 35 matches for the under-18 side before a successful loan spell at Eredivisie side Vitesse, where he scored 11 times in 34 appearances. A subsequent loan spell at Southampton, during which he registered nine goals and two assists in 38 games, saw him earn 18 first-team appearances at Chelsea before he was hit by the ACL injury. Broja has earned 25 caps for Albania since making his senior debut in September 2020. He played twice at the 2024 European Championship as his side finished bottom of Group B.
