Where Oregon Football rank in ESPN's post-spring SP+ rankings
After a successful 2024 season in which they won the Big Ten Conference Championship, finished the regular season as the only undefeated team in the nation, and went into the College Football Playoff as the No. 1 overall seed, the Oregon Ducks are ready for more going into the new year.
And with a revamped roster featuring new starters at several key positions on the depth chart, they're expected to be just as good again.
With one of the highest win-total over-under in the nation, expectations are high for Dan Lanning as he brings a young but incredibly talented group of players into the new year. The schedule is favorable, with the biggest tests of the season coming on the road at Penn State and at home against the USC Trojans. Every offseason, we look at various rankings to get a sense of where the Ducks rank going into the new year, and one of the most valuable rankings to look at is ESPN's SP+.
Throughout the offseason, ESPN staff writer Bill Connelly updates his SP+ list for each college football team, and he recently released his post-spring rankings.
According to Connelly, the SP+ rankings are based on three factors: "returning production, recent recruiting, and recent history." The rankings are predictive, and they aren't meant to be a Top-25 list based solely on performance. The SP+ rankings are based less on the eye test, and are more focused on the most recent data, to predict the most likely outcomes.
Below are the top 25 teams in Connelly's most recent SP+ list.
