Tucked away in the charming Welsh coastal village of Aberporth lies one of the UK's best kept secret beaches, perfect for a summer visit.
As the weather warms up and schools prepare to break for the six-week holidays, families across the country are searching for activities, and a trip to Aberporth Beach in Ceredigion should be high on their list.
Contrary to its singular name, Aberporth Beach is actually comprised of two separate beaches: Dyffryn Beach to the east and Dolwen Beach to the west.
Both are exceptionally beautiful, boasting sandy shores and home to an array of wildlife, attracting tourists from near and far to this lesser-known haven.
Although it currently doesn't hold Blue Flag status, it was awarded the honour in 2023, and its water quality remains rated as 'good', reports the Express.
The beach features a sandy stretch with a gentle slope into the water, making it an ideal spot for swimmers and various other seaside activities.

Many believe it's most beautiful at low tide when rock pools appear, offering a glimpse of the diverse wildlife.
Expect to see orcas, porpoises, sunfish and sharks as you explore the mysteries of Aberporth Beach.
Finally, the vast expanse of sand provides the perfect setting for those wishing to soak up the sun, work on their tan and unwind.
Aberporth Beach is a haven for sandcastle-building enthusiasts, with an abundance of sand to play with.
A nearby clifftop walk to Tresaith offers breathtaking sea views and the chance to spot bottlenose dolphins in Cardigan Bay.
Visitors may also stumble upon the area's prized dolphin statue, which stands majestically on the headland between Dolwen and Dyffryn beaches.
The beach town's maritime heritage is evident in its local restaurants, where visitors can savour freshly caught seafood from the coast, including Cardigan Bay lobster and crab.
Facilities at the beach include a café, toilets, disabled facilities, a first-aid point, a shower and a slipway. Activities such as fishing, sailing, swimming, surfing, and windsurfing are also available.

Aberporth Beach is a family-friendly destination that welcomes dogs all year round, although there are some restrictions on Dolwen Beach from September to June.
However, visitors are urged to respect the serene holiday spot and protect the local ecosystem by keeping it clean and safe for everyone to enjoy, regardless of when they visit.

Builth Wells Golf Club captain supports Wales Air Ambulance
A grandmother of ten has chosen Wales Air Ambulance as her charity of the year in her role as Lady Captain at Builth Wells Golf Club. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Cathy Yates, 69, has played hockey and canoeed, but discovered her passion for golf 30 years ago. She now plays regularly and recently co-organised a fundraising golf day with Shane Claridge, the club's men's captain. Mrs Yates said: "Many of my friends and family have needed the help of the air ambulance over the years. "My husband was riding his motorcycle a long time ago when he was hit off his bike. "I also used to be a paraglider pilot and some of my friends had accidents in remote locations." Mrs Yates said her professional background and personal interests make this charity even more meaningful. She said: "I've got a real interest in helicopters; I've got a degree in aeronautical engineering and love aircrafts. "As you can imagine, the work of the Wales Air Ambulance really strikes a chord with me and it's something I am keen to support. "I've always done the monthly lottery but having this opportunity as lady captain will enable me to spend the next few months rallying even more support for the cause." Wales Air Ambulance relies on public donations to raise the £11.2 million it needs each year to operate its fleet of helicopters and response vehicles. The service is designed to bring 'hospital-standard' treatments directly to patients, wherever they are in Wales. Mrs Yates is now looking forward to visiting the air ambulance base in Welshpool during her time as Lady Captain. She said: "It's going to be wonderful to get up close to the helicopter and look inside it. "I cannot wait to meet the team." Originally from Oxfordshire, Mrs Yates moved to Powys seven years ago and is now learning Welsh. She said: "We live in such a beautiful part of Wales; it is very rural and learning the language is really important to me." A former teacher and self-described adventurer, she and her husband Graham travelled across Europe for five years after retiring and spend summers in South Africa. Between them, they have six children and ten grandchildren. She said: "We love keeping active. "And between our family and hobbies there is never a dull moment." Mrs Yates is now looking forward to bringing people together through a full calendar of charity events. She said: "Our golf day was just the start. "It was a fabulous way to kick off our year of fundraisi ng. "We managed to raise £250." Planned events include quiz nights, bingo, and a special night golf evening in October. She said: "We've got a great support network at the club enabling us to do this for Wales Air Ambulance. "People travel miles to come and play at our club because of the amazing course and sweeping views across Builth. "It's quite breathtaking." Kate Thomas, regional fundraising manager for Wales Air Ambulance, said said: "We'd like to extend our congratulations to Cathy and Shane on their captaincies. "We are hugely grateful to them both for nominating us as their charity of the year. "Our fundraisers are at the heart of everything we do. "They enable our teams to be able to attend patients wherever and whenever they need us.

The 'Search for Santa' day trip will see families fly to Kittila, with a traditional cooked English breakfast served to you on the flight. After landing at midday, you'll grab your snowsuit and boots before heading to the Snow Village. The set of rules - which initially were introduced last summer - has been updated as part of a behaviour campaign in an attempt to curb rowdy tourists. The list of 'strongly suggested' rules has been plastered across buses, billboards as well as social media. In a post on social media platform X, Malaga Tourism shared more information about some of the rules. Under the 'do not be conspicuous' rule, the post states: "Do not shout, sing or turn up the volume of your music. "Respect the resting hours of your neighbours, including the elderly, the sick, students, children and essential workers." Under the 'dress completely' rule, the post states: "Both on the street and in public places, always wear an upper garment for respect and hygiene." The post adds that scooters should only be ridden by one person, and cyclists should stick to bike lanes - not the pavement. In addition, visitors are expected to not litter and use designated bins and toilets. Those who break the rules could be handed a fine of up to €750 (£649.05). The Spanish region undiscovered by Brits despite seaside views and ancient Roman cities Back in January, it was announced that Malaga was banning the registration of new holiday lets in 43 districts of the city. The ban will be in place for three years, though it could be extended. The different areas where the rules apply have all reached or exceeded eight per cent of houses in their region being short-term holiday lets. An additional 32 secondary zones have also been identified where the proportion of tourist housing has reached or exceeds 4.53 per cent.
