Full bracket revealed for 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament, with USC in the 64-team field

Full bracket revealed for 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament, with USC in the 64-team field Vanderbilt is the No. 1 overall seed at the 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament. USC was one of the last four at-large teams in the field.
On Monday morning, the bracket was revealed for this year's NCAA Baseball Tournament. USC is in the field, heading to the tournament for the first time in a decade.
College Sports Wire noted that USC was one of the last four teams in the field, as relayed by ESPN on its selection show. This next point is worth noting:
"USC was down to its last out in the Big Ten Tournament pool-play game against Washington on Friday. The Trojans were not going to advance in the tournament. They were already eliminated from contention for the semifinals. Penn State, UCLA, and Iowa had already locked up berths, with Nebraska playing Oregon for the fourth semifinal slot. However, that one game against Washington was up for grabs. Had the Trojans not won it, they might have been left out. Adrian Lopez's two-run double turned a 5-4 defeat into a 6-5 victory for USC. That one play might have made the difference between USC getting in and either UConn or SELA getting in."

Saquon Barkley among NFL stars who will join President Trump's council on Sports Nutrition

Saquon Barkley is a son, a fantastic father, the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year winner, and now a member of President Donald Trump's administration. In a move that will revive a standard from the Reagan, Clinton, and Bush era, Barkley will join Harrison Butker, Nick Bosa, Tony Romo, and Lawrence Taylor on President Trump's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.' According to the Washington Post, President Trump on Thursday announced that the presidential fitness test, a hallmark of American physical education programs, will be making a comeback in public schools. The assessment was retired and replaced by a fitness program under the Obama administration. The presidential fitness test was initiated in the 1950s by a council established by President Dwight D. Eisenhower that was directed to improve the physical fitness of American youths, in response to fears they were falling behind their European counterparts when it came to athleticism. The project is an alternative way to get anti-obesity drugs to Medicare and Medicaid patients, after the administration said in April that neither program would cover GLP-1s for weight loss. In doing so, it scrapped a 2024 Biden administration proposal for the programs to start covering GLP-1s for patients with obesity. Several high-profile athletes — all of whom have existing ties to Trump — attended the ceremony and will serve on the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition. The attendees included professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau, who will chair the council; controversial National Football League kicker Harrison Butker; World Wrestling Entertainment mainstay Paul 'Triple H' Levesque; golfer Annika Sorenstam; and football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor. The Eagles running back wasn't in attendance, but will be joined by golfers Jack Nicklaus, Nelly Korda, and Gary Player (who was also awarded the Medal of Freedom alongside Sorenstam); Tony Romo, Nick Bosa, and Barkley; legendary hockey player Wayne Gretzky; and baseball player Mariano Rivera. The list also includes NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, whom Trump repeatedly scrutinized during his first presidential term. Barkley was criticized during the off-season for spending time with President Trump on a golf outing prior to the Eagles' ring celebration. Commanders Make Decision On Name Change After President Trump's Suggestion

Commanders Make Decision On Name Change After President Trump's Suggestion originally appeared on The Spun. The Washington Commanders have made a decision on a possible name change following a suggestion by President Donald J. Trump. President Trump made it clear this week that he wasn't a fan of the Washington NFL franchise going away from the Redskins. He said that if he was running the team, he wouldn't have changed the name. 'You want me to make a controversial statement? I would,' Trump said to the reporter outside of Air Force One. 'I wouldn't have changed the name,' he continued. 'It just doesn't have the same — it doesn't have the same ring to me.' President Trump, though, admitted that one thing will make things better - winning. 'But, you know, winning can make everything sound good. So if they win, all of a sudden the Commanders sounds good, but I wouldn't have changed the name,' the president added. Washington got rid of its Redskins name in 2020. For two years, the team was known as the Washington Football Team, before making the switch to the Commanders in 2022. The Commanders, though, have already made a decision on a possible name change. Fans of the team have been calling for the franchise to go back to the Redskins or perhaps a different name. However, Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris previously announced that a decision had already been made. There would be no name change. 'I think it's now embraced by our team, by our culture, by our coaching staff. So we're going with that,' he said at a press conference earlier this year. The Commanders did a lot of winning in 2024, reaching the NFC Championship Game. If Jayden Daniels and Co. can make an even deeper run in 2025-26, the team will surely start to have a deeper connection with its team name.
