Motorcyclist dies after Pensacola crash

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A motorcyclist involved in a crash on Wednesday, May 28, has died nearly a week later, according to Pensacola Police Department officials.
Crews to repave Santa Rosa County road this week
Police were first called to the scene of a crash Wednesday night on Gregory Street near 14th Avenue.
Officials previously said the male motorcyclist and a woman driving a Ford Mustang appeared to be racing when the motorcyclist did not negotiate a curve, causing him to lose control.
Police said they are not releasing the man's name.

The driver of the Mustang will not face charges in the crash.

The Van Buren Township Public Safety's Dive team recovered the red convertible from Belleville Lake near Rawsonville Road on July 28. UPDATE (6:30 p.m.): News 5 spoke with a witness to a shooting on Rapier Avenue Tuesday morning. Dennis Weston was working outside on Fry Street when he said he heard six gunshots and a victim cry out. 'I heard some shouting from behind that house over there,' Weston said. 'And somebody was saying 'I was hit in the leg' or something like that. And then I heard, you know, some crying and stuff like that.' When officials arrived on scene, they found two women with gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to nearby hospitals and sustained serious injuries, according to Mobile Police Department. Officials have also said that both women were sitting inside a parked vehicle when the suspect came and fired into it. The victims told officials they knew the person who shot them. The names of the victims and the known suspect have not been released. This is an active investigation. UPDATE (10 a.m.): Mobile Police Department officials have provided more information on a shooting Tuesday morning. According to MPD, two females were shot and transported to local hospitals. Officials said it happened in the 300 block of Rapier Avenue between Texas and Elmira Streets. Chuck E.
