'So sad to see Ozzy leave us': Sir David Beckham's tribute to Ozzy Osbourne
The 76-year-old rocker died on Tuesday (22.07.25) at his home in the UK with his family by his side and David was among the stars who took to social media to pay tribute.
He wrote on Instagram: 'So sad to see Ozzy leave us. Thank you for entertaining us. Sending love to Sharon, the kids and family.'
Brian wrote: 'So sad to hear of Ozzie's passing. His last appearance at Villa Park was a glorious way to say goodbye - the love in that place for him was gigantic.
'I'm grateful I was able to have a few quiet words with him after the show. And happy to know he passed peacefully with his loving family close by. But the world will miss Ozzie's unique presence and fearless talent. My heartfelt consolations to Sharon and their great family.
'And to Bill (Ward) and Geezer (Butler) and my dear friend Tony (Iommi) - for this is family - I know only too well. REST IN PEACE dear Ozzie. Bri.'
Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready spoke about the influence Ozzy had on him.
He wrote on Pearl Jam's Instagram: 'Sad to hear Ozzy died today. When I was in high school I discovered Sabbath. 'War Pigs' was terrifying and mesmerizing at the same time. It was Ozzy's voice that took me away to a dark universe. A great escape.
'Then when 'The Blizzard of Ozz' record came out I was instantly a fan. Randy Rhoads was an influence on me to play lead guitar. Luckily I got to play on the song 'Immortal' on the (Osbourne's) last record. Thanks for the music, Ozzy it makes our journey in life better. Mike McCready.'
Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong wrote: 'No words. We love you Ozzy.'

Piers Morgan – who is a close friend of Ozzy's wife Sharon - posted a photo of himself with the couple and wrote: 'RIP Ozzy Osbourne. One of the greatest rock stars in history, and a wonderful character.
'Truly one of the funniest people I've ever known. I once asked him what was the best moment of his life and he replied instantly: 'Meeting Sharon.' My heart breaks for her.'
And, Sir Rod Stewart wrote: 'Bye bye Ozzy. Sleep well my friend. I'll see you up there - later rather than sooner."
Ozzy had been living with Parkinson's disease for several years.
Despite his illness, he recently reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates on stage at Villa Park, Birmingham, for his Back to the Beginning farewell concert.

Celine Dion has hailed late label mate Ozzy Osbourne for his "boundless spirit and ear for melody". Despite being on opposite ends of the music spectrum, the My Heart Will Go On hitmaker, 57, admired the late Crazy Train singer's talent and was "deeply saddened" when she heard he had passed away on July 22, at the age of 76. Alongside a throwback picture of Ozzy, she penned on social media: 'I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy and I were label mates for many years – and although we came from very different musical universes, I always admired his boundless spirit and ear for melody on songs like 'Mama, I'm Coming Home'. He was a true original! Fearless, and simply larger than life… but also kind, thoughtful and generous.' Tributes have poured in for the Black Sabbath frontman, who played his final concert just days before his death on July 5. Metallica's Robert Trujillo shared a moving post about Ozzy hours before attending his funeral in Birmingham on Wednesday (30.07.25). The bassist in the Nothing Else Matters band had a stint in the Prince of Darkness' solo band before he joined Metallica in late 1990s and early 2000s. Members of the group - who took part in Ozzy's epic Back To The Beginning concert earlier this month - were back in the city to pay their respects. He actually demanded we open for him on the 'Theater of Madness' tour. He'd say 'I'm your best friend Rob, I f****** love the bass and the funkier and heavier the better!' "He was the gateway. (sic)" Robert went on to admit Ozzy could be "so honest it hurt", but he'll never forget his sense of humour and the "wild adventure" of touring with Ozzy and his guitarist Zakk Wylde. He continued: "Ozzy was a humble man and sometimes so honest it hurt but his sense of humor made everything absolutely amazing. Touring with Ozzy and Zakk was always a wild adventure. Those two together… it was a crazy, awesome rollercoaster. "We're all so thankful for his heart and soul. "Ozzy and Black Sabbath were and still are the soundtrack to our lives. The inspiration they gave us is beyond words. The first real alternative rock band, in my opinion. Confirming Metallica would attend the funeral, he said: "Now it's time to pay our respects, share our love, and offer our support to Sharon and the family. It's heartbreaking but we know Ozzy gave us everything he had in his final days." On taking part in Back To The Beginning, he said: "I'm so honored that Lars, James, Kirk, and I (Metallica) got to celebrate with him, to share our music and Sabbath's music on such a special day in Birmingham. Ozzy Osbourne's family honoured the late star with subtle tributes during his funeral procession. The late music legend made his final trip through his home city of Birmingham on Wednesday (30.07.25) as fans bid farewell to the Black Sabbath frontman - who died on July 22, at the age of 76, just days after playing his final show at Aston Villa's stadium Villa Park on July 5 - and as his distraught wife Sharon and children Kelly, Aimee and Jack viewed flowers left in honour of the rocker, their individual touches to honour Ozzy could be seen. Sharon Osbourne leant over to place a pink rose down and what appeared to be Ozzy's wedding ring could be seen dangling from a long chain around her neck. Meanwhile, Kelly Osbourne honoured Ozzy's distinct sense of style with a pair of round blue-tinted glasses and her brother, Jack Osbourne, wore a black Chrome Hearts tie with a silver cross embellishment in a nod to his dad's fondness for cross jewellery. And Aimee Osbourne, who typically stays out of the spotlight, referenced Ozzy's notorious bat-biting incident from 1982 by wearing a brooch in the shape of the winged mammal. A purple floral cross adorned the top of the funeral car, which started its journey at the football ground, and red roses were thrown onto the vehicle. The Bostin' Brass band stood to the front of the car playing Black Sabbath and Ozzy classics. Huge crowds lined the streets and led chants of 'Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy, Oi, Oi, Oi!'. Fans also broke into song as they waited for the hearse to arrive. Moments before the procession began just after 1pm BST, Birmingham's Mayor Zafar Iqbal was seen reading the many tributes laid out amongst the flowers and black heart balloons at Black Sabbath Bridge on Broad Street. He also spoke with some of the fans who lined the streets to say goodbye to the Prince of Darkness. Sharon was struggling to compose herself, shaking as she held onto her daughter Kelly's hand as she poured her heart out. Upon hearing the crowd cheer, she threw up peace signs. The trip also included a stop at Ozzy's childhood home, Lodge Road, Aston, at around 12.45pm. The family, including Ozzy's son Louis from his previous marriage, then attended a private funeral service for the rocker. Ozzy's passing was confirmed in a family statement, which read: It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."
