The Chanel Cruise show is always a masterclass in elegance, but this season, the French maison elevated its artistry to new heights, transporting guests to the timeless allure of Italy's La Dolce Vita. Against the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Como's iconic Villa d'Este—a 16th-century jewel frequented by royalty and Hollywood legends—Chanel unveiled its Cruise 2026 collection to an audience of luminaries, including Keira Knightley and Margaret Qualley.
A celebration of effortless sophistication, the collection drew inspiration from the villa's enchanting gardens, where magnolias, wisteria, and camellias bloom in abundance. Delicate lacework mirrored the floral splendor, while the designs embodied the villa's legacy of Renaissance-era glamour and relaxed refinement.
From intricately embellished tweed sets to fluid silk slips and effortlessly chic co-ords, the lineup redefined vacation dressing with a signature Chanel twist. Each piece exuded a sense of luxurious ease, blending nonchalance with high-octane allure—a fitting tribute to the storied location.
As one of the final collections crafted by Chanel's in-house team before Matthieu Blazy's anticipated debut, the show was a dazzling testament to the house's enduring legacy of craftsmanship and innovation. Here, we revisit the standout moments from an unforgettable evening where fashion met fantasy. Check out our favorite Chanel Cruise 2026 looks here

It's Calm On The Côte With Hotel Couvent
The Hôtel du Couvent offers a spiritual stillness in the bustling heart of the French Riviera It's a coast of contrasts. On one side superyachts filled with champagne-popping party people en route to La Guérite, dressed in exuberant Pucci. And on the other, you have Hôtel du Couvent. Appropriately for a converted convent, its luxury whispers. Discreet, imbued with history, a place of pilgrimage for those looking to take in the Côte d'Azur spirit that lured philosophers, writers and poets like Cocteau and Bonnard. But just because it isn't loud, doesn't mean it isn't important, impressive. French hotelier Valéry Grégo's transformation – and preservation – of this 17th-century convent is clearly a labour of love by someone who sees this much more than just another hotel on the Riviera. And when the 88-room property opened its doors last year, a decade after work started on its restoration, it was appropriately the talk of the town for the truly discerning. It's for those whose cupboards are stocked with Loro Piana. Monastic traditions are kept intact; where else would you find a library filled with vintage tomes, an in-house herbalist and apothecary, lush gardens or an on-site bakery dispensing feather-light madeleines? But a five-star approach also abounds when it comes to creature comforts. Neutrally kitted-out rooms, bathed in the areas brilliant light, are beautifully appointed – even those that take up the previously spartan converted nun's quarters. Plus there's a wellness centre – meditation is encouraged, mindfulness will follow naturally – complete with swimming pool, and Roman-style baths to rejuvenate. Daily menus with a focus on seasonal, local ingredients come courtesy of chef Thomas Vitele who works closely with exclusive supplier Nôtre Dame farm. Forty years after the nuns departed, this space is imbued with life once more. It's lucky for the guests however, that the spiritual soul of the setting has been retained, celebrated. And that is what makes this hotel in Nice's Old Town, such a special place in the sun.

Tunisian mystery thriller film ‘Agora' to screen at Zawya Cinema
Slim's third feature fiction, the film focuses on a remote town in Tunisia where missing people return after many years. Tunisian filmmaker Ala Eddine Slim's latest feature, Agora, is set to screen at Cairo's Zawya Cinema with English subtitles, offering audiences a suspense-filled experience that blends mystery with social reflection. The screenings are scheduled for Thursday, July 24, at 4:30 pm, Saturday, July 26, at 7:00 pm, and Tuesday, July 29, at 7:00 pm. A French-Tunisian co-production, Agora is backed by the Red Sea Fund and produced by Julie Viez's Cinenovo in collaboration with Slim's Exit Productions. The film secured 80% of its $743,000 budget, underscoring strong international interest in the project. Agora explores a mysterious phenomenon in a remote Tunisian town where people who had gone missing for years suddenly return. These returnees stir tensions among families and the wider community, prompting local police inspector Fathi and his doctor friend Amine to investigate. The situation becomes increasingly strange and complex, particularly with the arrival of Omar, a police inspector from the capital, who attempts to unravel the mystery. Slim describes Agora as a reflection on the past, resurfacing painful memories and societal failures. The film delves into themes of family and community conflict, and the tension between urban life and nature. Slim emphasises the symbolic significance of the city's public square, where key decisions about the returnees are made. The film also features a visual narrative with special effects and makeup, blending elements of a thriller and investigative story. Slim, who also produced the film, sees Agora as a continuation of his previous works, exploring recurring motifs such as the city, the forest and animals. The film addresses contemporary issues such as economic, social, health and security challenges, mirroring the complex realities of today's Tunisia.
