Liam Gallagher seemed to allude to a recently deleted social media post that sparked controversy during Oasis's second performance at Heaton Park. The iconic band took to the stage for the second of their five shows in their hometown, their first Manchester shows since 2009.
Before launching into their hit song Some Might Say, Liam addressed the audience, making a comment that appeared to reference a contentious social media post from earlier this month. "Gotta wear the shades tonight, didn't wear them last night, woke up this morning like a grasshopper? You're allowed to say grasshopper, right?" he said.
On July 1, Liam sparked outrage after sharing a derogatory term often used to mock or imitate languages spoken in China or people of East Asian descent. He subsequently deleted the post and issued an apology, stating: "Sorry if I offended anyone. It wasn't intentional you know I love you all and I do not discriminate. peace and love LG x."
The incident prompted one fan to sell her ticket to the opening night of the Live '25 tour in Cardiff, citing that she was left 'completely heartbroken'. The Oasis Live '25 tour was announced last August, two days before the 30th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe, marking the biggest concert launch in the UK and Ireland.
A staggering ten million people attempted to snag tickets for their UK and Ireland tour, as fans grappled with skyrocketing ticket prices due to dynamic pricing and other sales hitches.
This summer, Liam, Noel and Bonehead, joined by Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Joey Waronker, are set to rock 19 UK and Ireland venues in cities such as Cardiff, London, Edinburgh and Dublin, before embarking on a series of international gigs later in the year.
After tonight's gig, the band will return to Heaton Park on Wednesday, with two more performances lined up for next weekend, wrapping up their five-date stint at this venue. The band will be performing to 80,000 fans at every gig in Manchester, which has been received with five star reviews.
On Friday, their first night, the crowd was joined by a string of famous faces, including Jack Grealish, Pep Guardiola, Andy Whyment, and Vernon Kay, all packed into the crowd as they belted out Oasis' biggest hits throughout the night.
But hundreds who struggled to get tickets when they went on sale last year still managed to enjoy the first night. As the sun went down on Friday, Don't Look Back In Anger, Cigarettes and Alcohol and Morning Glory could be heard across Prestwich after thousands of fans gathered for the incredible evening.
For those who didn't have a ticket for the event, it didn't stop them from soaking up the atmosphere and still enjoying hearing Oasis live, with some even managing to see the band perform on huge screens which were visible across the horizon.
Fans both inside and outside of Heaton Park watched the concert on gigantic screens, measuring 84 meters by 12 meters, a whole 20 meters bigger than those in Cardiff last week and are also the largest ever used at a concert in the UK.

A video has been posted on social media which shows several people lifting a disabled fan into the air to get a better view of the stage. Thousands of users have viewed the video and have since praised fans of the band. One person commented: "Touch of class that. Well done lads." While a second said: "Oasis fans are the best." The men who are holding the other man in the air are smiling and singing along to the Oasis tunes. Meanwhile, the man being lifted is wearing an Oasis-branded t-shirt and bucket hat while singing the lyrics word for word himself. "A lady (unsure of her name really sorry if you see this!) got our attention and started to ask around to see who was able to help - she was brilliant! "My husband is at the back with the grey cap on but we don't personally know the other lads - lovely guys though! We've been lucky to find a few of them through this video! Tickets to see Liam and Noel Gallagher reunite have been like gold dust, whispered between music fans ever since they went on sale in August last year. Many will remember battling it out in queues all day long, only to be met with dynamically priced seats and sold-out messages. While millions were left disappointed, a determined few took matters into their own hands and decided to risk scaling the fences around the Manchester gig. As Liam, 52, and Noel, 58, performed to the 80,000 concert-goers in their hometown for the first time in 16 years, the security staff had their hands full with overly enthusiastic fans. Six were arrested on the first night, while a further nine were booked on night two after the Greater Manchester Police put a 'section 47' dispersal order in place. Drunk and disorderly behaviour prompted some arrests as GMP said three were suspected of assault, one of which was a serious 'section 18' assault inside the venue. Another suspect was arrested after a member of the security team was attacked, according to Manchester Evening News. However, others were held on suspicion of fraud after scores of fans attempted to bluff their way into the venues. Assistant Chief Constable Matt Boyle said: 'We have been planning for these events for several months, working with partners and the organisers to make sure everyone can enjoy the concerts safely. 'To that end, I'm pleased to say that the first two Oasis homecoming events have been a success.' 'What has been especially pleasing is how more than 100,000 people have enjoyed these iconic events safely and without trouble. We will have a highly visible presence in and around Heaton Park, and across the city, to ensure the next three events continue to pass safely.' Section 47 allows police to remove anyone loitering in the area, in a bid to keep the crowd outside of the park to a minimum. 'A number of people without tickets attempted to gain entry through a perimeter gate on Saturday night but failed to do so,' shared Boyle. 'We continue to support the event organisers and the local authority with their plans preventing any unauthorised access to the arena site. 'While arrests have thankfully been minimal, we have had to take some suspects into custody, including one after an alleged assault on a steward on Saturday night. We will not tolerate any abuse of anyone doing their job. 'On Friday night, we also dealt with a number of breaches of airspace restrictions involving drones, where our officers seized five drones and spoke to two other pilots. More Trending 'We continue to have airspace restrictions in place on the nights of the concerts and anyone found breaching the one-and-a-half-mile restriction zone could face prosecution.' Other fans decided to watch the show from a nearby hill, given that the concert was plenty loud enough for the surrounding area to hear. Dubbed 'Gallagher Hill', the fans didn't feel half the world away as they sang along and watched with a birdseye view of the gig. The 51-year-old model and TV host, who is married to Strictly Come Dancing star Tess Daly, has been following the Gallagher brothers like a shadow after they kicked off their 41 date tour this month. Liam, 52, and Noel, 58, launched their Oasis Live '25 Tour in Cardiff on 4 July where they performed two night and are now in the midst of a five night run at Manchester's Heaton Park. Former T4 host Vernon was among the crowd at Principality Stadium to watch Oasis perform in Wales. And this weekend, he shared video clips of himself enjoying the group again - this time from Heaton Park in Manchester. The fact that he has appeared at two points on the same has left some music fans perplexed. Following their gig on Friday, Vernon shared footage of himself watching the boys on stage while he sang along in the 80,000 strong audience. He shared the footage on his main Instagram grid, writing: "Manchester! Day1. @oasis The excellence continues! Bravo!!" along with a flame emoji. But one baffled fan responded, writing: "How did Vernon get so many tickets? Cardiff now Manchester!" However, the mystery was anything but - as Vernon swiftly answered the question himself, writing in reply: "Paid for them!!" The Mirror's Showbiz Editor Mark Jefferies attended one of Oasis's first two Heaton Park gigs and was blown away by the performance - as well as the friendly relations between the lead singers. He recounts: "On Saturday night at the end of the show the brothers hugged and then Noel pointed over to his brother in a clear show of admiration and to tell the crowd just how much he loved Liam's performance. It was a shocking sight, the total opposite of their old rows on stage." Having managed to attend three of the first four gigs, Mark adds: "Would I like more stage interaction? Of course. And some of the lines on stage are now pre-planned which doesn't feel very Oasis. But the Gallaghers have grown up, and like their mature fans who can only manage to jump up and down for the odd song in three these days, this style of set is what they need to make things work." The Mirror's Daniel Bird also attended one of the Manchester dates, revealing: "Walking out at Heaton Park, you could never have imagined that there was once a feud between the two siblings. Putting on a united front, the two legends walked out to their 2000 track, F***in' In The Bushes, to a crowd of 80,000 people, with the atmosphere instantly becoming electric." Oasis performed at Heaton Park on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 July - and will return for three more gigs in the park in north Manchester. They have dates there on July 16, 19 and 20. They then advance to London's Wembley Stadium where they will take to the stage on July 25, 26 and 30 and August 2 and 3. While the two gigs in Manchester were a success, they were also marred by controversy as music fans without tickets attempted to storm the venue. Police arrested 15 people over the weekend as dozens of fans attempted to scale the security barriers with a ladder. Manchester Evening News reporter Chris Slater, revealed: "An eyewitness has told me that just before Oasis came on stage around 50 people tried to 'rush' one of the internal entrances to the gig area. They said around 10 appeared to get in but the rest were apprehended and turned away." Police later confirmed: "No one made it through to the concert area". A dispersal order was issued in the park to combat the ticketless Oasis fans - and viral footage showed at least one man being led away in handcuffs.
