Gold prices in Jordan saw a slight increase on Thursday morning, reflecting ongoing volatility in global markets. The fluctuations in international rates have directly impacted local pricing, according to figures released by the Jordanian Jewelers Syndicate (JJS) on July 3, 2025.
According to local jewelers, the selling price of 24-carat gold reached JD 78 per gram, while the buying price stood at JD 75.6.
The most in-demand type, 21-carat gold, recorded a selling price of JD 68.2 per gram, with a buying price of JD 66.
18-carat gold rose to JD 60.8 per gram for selling and JD 56.3 for buying.
As for 14-carat gold, the selling price reached JD 46, and the buying price was JD 41.4.
Gold coins also reflected the price changes. The Rashadi gold lira was priced at JD 479 for selling and JD 461.3 for buying, while the English gold lira stood at JD 549 for selling and JD 527.2 for buying.
Traders expect further shifts in local prices in line with global market trends.

According to figures compiled by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), based on foreign trade data issued by the Department of Statistics, Jordanian national exports to GAFTA countries grew by 19.6% during the first third of this year, reaching a value of JD 1.117 billion, compared to JD 934 million during the same period last year. Meanwhile, Jordan's imports from GAFTA countries amounted to JD 1.822 billion in the first third of this year, up 15.7% from JD 1.575 billion in the same period of the previous year. Based on statistical data, GAFTA countries ranked first among Jordan's trade partners during the first third of the year, accounting for 40.6% of the total value of national exports. However, the trade balance between Jordan and GAFTA countries recorded a deficit of JD 705 million during the same period, compared to JD 641 million in the same period last year. The total trade volume between Jordan and GAFTA countries reached JD 2.94 billion in the first third of this year, compared to JD 2.5 billion in the same period last year. Jordan recorded a trade surplus with the following GAFTA countries during the first third of 2024: Iraq, Lebanon, Kuwait, Syria, Palestine, Algeria, Bahrain, Yemen, Libya, and Morocco. On the other hand, the Kingdom registered a trade deficit with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Qatar, Oman, Tunisia, and Sudan. Saudi Arabia accounted for the largest share of Jordanian exports to GAFTA countries, reaching approximately JD 338 million, an increase of 23.4%, followed by Iraq with JD 273 million, up 17.7%. Exports to Syria witnessed a significant rise, reaching JD 72 million—a remarkable 453.8% increase. At the same time, Saudi Arabia topped the list of countries from which Jordan imports, with imports valued at JD 993 million. As a result, Jordan's trade deficit with Saudi Arabia alone amounted to around JD 655 million during the first third of this year. Jordan's exports to GAFTA countries primarily include fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, agricultural products such as fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, salts, skincare products, processed foods, furniture, textiles, garments, and paints. Jordan's imports from GAFTA countries include crude oil and its derivatives, jewelry, food products, plastic sheets and panels, titanium oxide, polyethylene and polystyrene, iron and its products, among other goods. The Greater Arab Free Trade Area is an economic alliance among Arab countries aimed at enhancing economic integration and facilitating low-tariff trade. The data obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra) shows that exports reached JD 3.467 billion in the first half of 2025, compared to JD 3.086 billion during the same period last year. Seven sub-sectors recorded an increase in exports, with growth rates ranging from 1% in plastic and rubber industries to 73.4% in construction materials. Conversely, exports from three other sectors declined: engineering, electrical, and IT industries by 1.7%, packaging and paper/cardboard/stationery by 7.2%, and wood and furniture by 13.6%. Four countries—India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq—accounted for more than half of the Chamber's total exports during the first half of the year, with a combined value of JD 1.988 billion. Exports to India increased by 27%, reaching approximately JD 533 million compared to JD 419 million in the same period last year. Exports to Saudi Arabia rose by 7.4%, totaling about JD 418 million, up from JD 388 million. Exports to Iraq increased by 2.6%, reaching around JD 451 million, compared to JD 439 million. Meanwhile, exports to the United States declined by 7.8%, totaling JD 586 million, down from JD 635 million, yet the U.S. remained among the top importers of Amman's industrial exports. The data also revealed a 366.3% surge in exports to Syria, reaching JD 154 million, up from JD 33 million in the first half of 2024. Exports to Palestine rose by 15.1%, amounting to JD 82 million, compared to JD 71 million last year. In terms of geographic distribution during the first half of 2025: Arab countries led with JD 1.698 billion, Non-Arab Asian countries followed with JD 738 million, North American countries JD 609 million.
