Jesse McCartney and wife Katie Peterson welcome first child three months early... and the name comes from the middle ages
The 38-year-old singer/actor and his 37-year-old wife tied the knot in 2021, nearly a decade after they started dating in 2012 after they met at a bar she was working at.
The happy couple announced on Valentine's Day that they were expecting their first child, revealing the due date was August 8.
They then announced a few weeks later that their child would be a boy, while sharing other moments in their pregnancy journey including a video hinting they couldn't agree on a name.
Fans were quite stunned then when the couple debuted a joint post revealing their son Archer was born on May 7, 2025, a full three months early!
They shared five adorable snaps, unveiling their son Archer to the world, with the post garnering over 56K likes in eight hours.
'Archer James McCartney took center stage on 5/7/25. Our sweet Archie couldn't wait to meet us and arrived a bit earlier than expected,' the post began.
'We are so in love with him. He loves when mommy reads him a book and when daddy sings him off to sleep,' they added.
Due to the child being so premature, it seems he's still in the hospital, but the couple revealed they hope to bring him home soon.
'We look forward to bringing him home very soon to meet his big sister Bailey, who sleeps with his blanket every night,' she said, referring to the family pooch Bailey.
'Enjoy some cute pictures of our little fighter, Archer,' the couple's post concluded.
The snaps showcased the newborn Archer in a white onesie with blue trim with his named monogramed.
Another snap showed him swaddled in a baby blue satin cloth, plus another with him next to a huge teddy bear.
The final snap humorously showed Archer in the middle of a sneeze, as many fans commented on how well the child looked even so premature.

Actress Greer Grammer - daughter of Kelsey Grammer - also chimed in, commenting, 'HES PERFECT what a strong beautiful baby boy!!!!'
The name Archer is ' a gender-neutral name of French, Latin, and English origins, meaning 'bowman" according to The Bump.
The site also revealed that the name is derived from the Latin word arcarius and French archier as it continued: 'It was traditionally a surname borne by talented archers of the Middle Ages and only found its feet as a first name in the 19th century.'

American wrestling star Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71. Hogan – whose real name was Terry Bollea – was a leading figure in wrestling during the 1980s and won six WWE Championships during his career. He faced names including Andre the Giant and Randy Savage and enjoyed a career in the media, featuring in films and television shows. His death was confirmed by the WWE, who posted a statement on X saying: 'WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. 'One of pop culture's most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. 'WWE extends its condolences to Hogan's family, friends, and fans.' Joey Lawrence shed light into his reconciliation with his wife Samantha Cope, five months after she filed for divorce in 2024. When asked about his decision to repair his marriage, the Melissa and Joey star, 49, urged others not to 'give up' without a fight. 'I think it's too easy,' he explained of why they got back together. 'As much you don't want to take an easy way out, or you think this will be the fix—it's not always the case.
