Chelsea's Club World Cup win ‘not an upset'
Cole Palmer was the star of the show in front of a crowd of 81,118 at MetLife Stadium, scoring two fine goals and creating the other for Joao Pedro in a shock 3-0 win.

Defender Colwill said: 'Everyone was rooting for PSG or saying they were going to beat us but it's not an upset because we know how good we are. If other people don't believe that then hopefully we have changed their minds now.
'This performance was amazing and we should get the credit we deserve.
'It was a statement victory and in the future, if we keep winning trophies then everyone will give us the love that we deserve.'
PSG had stormed into the final by thrashing Real Madrid 4-0 four days previously.
Having already won four trophies in 2024-25, including the Champions League and a French league and cup double, their determination to complete a historic quintuple seemed clear.
Colwill is convinced the confidence Chelsea will gain from beating such an outstanding side will see them emerge as strong contenders next season.

The 22-year-old said: 'I said at the start of this tournament that our plan was to win it and people looked at me as if I was crazy!
'So I'm going to say the exact same thing now going into the Premier League and Champions League. I think we're ready and we'll see next season.'
The Club World Cup tournament, the first to be played in an expanded 32-team format, has had its detractors for a range of reasons but Colwill has no doubt the concept is here to stay.
'In the future, I think this will be the biggest trophy of all,' he said. 'It will be bigger than the Champions League and we were the first team to win it.
'I've really enjoyed it, playing games every four or five days, playing to sold-out stadiums, playing against different teams who you would never normally get a chance to play.
'I might be saying that just because we're winners now but I really have enjoyed it and it's been good.
'This is the biggest tournament I've ever won. Going into the game I was a bit nervous, thinking it was the biggest game I've ever played, but in years to come I will look back and think what a day it's been.'

Leah Williamson has described Arsenal teammate Stina Blackstenius as an 'incredibly powerful footballer' as the pair prepare to go head-to-head in the Euro 2025 quarter-final between England and Sweden. 'It's tough to remove all of that to just go at it, you don't want to focus on it too much, there's lots of things that come into play when you play against a teammate, but I think I've known Stina long enough now that I know who she is and it's time to focus on us.' As a centre-back, Williamson will be directly up against her club colleague, but she is wary of pinpointing Blackstenius's threat alone. 'When you have a team who work for each other like Sweden, then you don't need to necessarily have a crazy standout threat because everyone plays their roles,' she said. 'They are hard to prepare for in that sense. The discipline for them all to complete their jobs on the pitch makes them a dangerous side.' Williamson's focus in this tournament is staying present, replicating her mantra of the 2022 Euros. 'I want to enjoy it and spend time with my teammates,' she said. 'It's a great environment and I love being around them all. Beth Mead was laughing at me the other day because I did the day in the life of her, which meant I didn't go back to my room and I was very sociable. By the end of the day I slept good. 'I said to her: 'I don't know how you do this every day,' and she said: 'This is my every day'. I said: 'Yes, it's crazy to me, I'm not that type of person'. But it's little things like that, just trying to be around more. In 2022 I slept most of the time that I wasn't on a pitch so yes, a bit different this time.' 'We can't get rid of her,' joked Williamson. 'I've already had a couple of conversations this tournament with Jill, one-to-one. She's a funny character, but she can be serious and she has so many experiences of her own and an incredible perspective, she does actually help us out. When she retired we were begging for somebody to employ her within the FA just to bring her along. I'm glad that she is here and she's found a way to be here. It's only ever a positive thing for the team. She's one of the greatest teammates I've ever had.'

Dragons RFC European fixtures for 2025/26 campaign announced
Tournament organisers EPCR have confirmed the dates for the pool stages of the EPCR Challenge Cup. The Dragons are set to face French Top 14 heavyweights Lyon and the Newcastle Falcons from the English Premiership at Rodney Parade. The Men of Gwent, playing in Pool 2, kick off their campaign against Perpignan at Stade Aimé Giral on Sunday, December 7, with a 2pm local time start. The following weekend will see Filo Tiatia's squad welcome last season's runners-up, Lyon, to Rodney Parade for a 3.15pm kick-off on Sunday, December 14. Round 3 will have the Dragons on the road again, this time facing United Rugby Championship rivals Benetton Rugby at Stadio Comunale di Monigo on Saturday, January 10, with a 6.30pm start in local time. The group stages will conclude with a home fixture against Newcastle Falcons on Friday, January 16, under the Rodney Parade lights, with an 8pm kick-off.
