PETALING JAYA: Country Heights Holdings Bhd (CHHB) is disposing of its entire stake in its wholly-owned subsidiary, Versatile Champion Sdn Bhd (VCSB), to South Strategy International Sdn Bhd for RM600,000.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, CHHB said the proposed disposal forms part of its strategic move to streamline its business operations and focus on core business areas.
'The proposed disposal will also unlock the value of a non-core asset and improve the liquidity position of CHHB.'
CHHB said the gross proceeds of RM600,000 from the disposal will be utilised by CHHB for working capital purposes, including payment to creditors and general corporate and administrative expenses.
'The utilisation is expected to be completed within six months from the date of receipt of full payment from the purchaser.
'The proposed disposal is not expected to have any material effect on the share capital, net assets per share, earnings per share, gearing of CHHB group for the financial year ending June 30, 2025, based on the audited consolidated financial statements for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2023.'
CHHB said VCSB has a parcel of freehold land measuring 526.09 sq m with a building at the North West Province of South Africa, which is currently vacant.

Man spends whopping RM50,000 just to qualify for TRX Premium Lounge

WHAT does it take for a person to have access to exclusive luxury? For one guy, it is RM50,000 worth of purchases just to be qualified for a membership in the TRX, The Premium Lounge. Now, one would imagine the crazy load of shopping a person has to do to rack up a RM50,000 bill, and rightly so. RM50,000 is enough to purchase an entry level car by cash or comfortably pay the deposit for a mid-priced home in the KL city centre. Ini baru kaya yang sebenar. Sanggup spend RM50K semata nak masuk dalam TRX The Premium Lounge. Gilaaa 😭 — kamaghul deghaman (@kamaghul) July 26, 2025 The guy in the video had to do a whopping amount of shopping, and even then, it was not enough. According to him in the video, he finally reached the amount by making huge purchases at Chanel. It sure brings out the Crazy Rich Asian vibes. But it appears our fellow netizens aren't impressed by all that burned money. 'I'd rather use the 50k to make my house better looking than the TRX Premium lounge,' said @AndyTalisman, and he has a point. 'So, the TRX is practising the caste system in India?' @arfhartoe wondered. But netizen @neesely believed the money was not wasted since he was actually turning it into content. However, what is the TRX Premium Lounge? Apparently there are three tiers to their Loyalty Programme, the Enthusiast, Insider and Inspirer. For example, a person qualifies for the Insider after a minimum spending of RM10,000 in three receipts on the same day. The guy in the video was attempting the Inspirer tier at RM50,000 in five receipts within 14 days, which allows him access to the lounge. According to Tatler Asia, the lounge features contemporary interiors layered with warm textures, curated floral arrangements, and ambient lighting designed to evoke calm sophistication. For Inspirer and Visionary members, the lounge provides an extensive suite of personalised privileges: all-day refreshments featuring artisanal selections, dedicated guest experience support, premium amenities including private facilities and a children's corner, plus complimentary gift wrapping services. All that for RM50,000? Is it worth it or could we just head over to the nearest Thai massage parlour? —July 27, 2025 Main image: @kamaghul (X)

Malaysia looks to Thailand, Japan for year-round fruit production

KLANG: The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) is turning to Thailand and Japan as models for research to enable year-round production of seasonal fruits in Malaysia. Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu highlighted ongoing efforts by the Department of Agriculture (DOA) and the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) to develop new seed varieties. 'We are carrying out R\&D, especially by DOA and MARDI, to produce new seeds and so on. The MARDI durian, for example, was produced recently in Kuala Kangsar. Delicious. High quality,' he said during the launch of the National Campaign to Eat More Local Fruits and Vegetables. The event also marked the closing of FAMA Fest 2025 in Selangor. Mohamad stressed the government's commitment to promoting local fruits, including a mandate for official functions to serve only Malaysian-grown produce. 'During my visit to Thailand as the Minister of Defence, I was served food based on local fruits and vegetables throughout my time there. The same goes for Japan, almost 100 per cent local,' he added. Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) chairman Aminuddin Zulkipli reported strong results from FAMA Fest, with sales exceeding RM800,000 from 50 entrepreneurs and over 40,000 visitors. Since 2017, the event has driven economic growth for agri-entrepreneurs, with 2024 figures reaching RM8.8 million nationwide. – Bernama

More Malaysians to benefit from Rahmah Sales with RM300m boost

RAUB: The MADANI Rahmah Sales programme will reach more Malaysians, including rural communities, following an additional RM300 million allocation. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated that the expanded funding ensures wider implementation across urban, suburban, and rural areas. 'The programme focuses on high-density urban and suburban areas, without neglecting rural areas identified according to each State Legislative Assembly,' he said after officiating the Raub UMNO divisional meeting. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim previously announced the allocation doubling to RM600 million this year. The initiative, launched in January 2023, offers daily necessities at 10 to 30 per cent discounts to alleviate living costs. Anwar noted the increased funding allows more frequent sales across all 600 state constituencies. Ahmad Zahid urged eligible groups to take advantage of the discounted prices. – Bernama
