Galaxy Watch Ultra gets One UI 8 Watch – here come the new health and fitness features

Phone Arena22-07-2025
Samsung just announced that One UI 8 Watch is now available for the Galaxy Watch Ultra. The update unlocks the new motivational health features and the refined, intuitive interface Samsung introduced with the Galaxy Watch 8 series for Galaxy Watch Ultra users. The new update brings Running Coach, Vascular Load, and Antioxidant Index to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. All these features are made to help you build healthier habits with motivational insights to inspire you.
But that's not all. Galaxy Watch Ultra users can now also enjoy the new One UI 8 Watch user interface. It is a new interface optimized to give you the essential information at a glance, and it takes into consideration a timepiece's smaller screen.

The Now Bar is also here, making sure that whatever you are using right now is accessible easily.

These new features integrate quite well with the Galaxy Watch Ultra's smooth performance and durable design, and elevate the smartwatch even further. Right now, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is the best option for outdoorsy people who go on adventures. The watch is available in four titanium finishes, including the newly introduced Titanium Blue, which is simply stunning.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch 8 is more for casual and everyday users who prefer comfort and style, while the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is sophistication coupled with advanced functionality. The Galaxy Watch 8 series is launching soon, alongside the Titanium Blue finish for the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
I think these updates are a great addition to the already-awesome Galaxy Watch Ultra. The new features are entirely there to help you improve your health habits and overall well-being, and I find them super cool, especially the Antioxidant Index, which is a feature that would help you maintain your health for longer. Switch to a 2-month Total 5G or 5G+ plan with Total Wireless and score this foldable deal.

Motorola's cheapest 2025 US phone is even cheaper than usual (with no strings)

Nowhere near as expansive as pretty much everywhere else around the world, Motorola's US Moto G family is still rich and eclectic enough to include three 2025-released members priced between $199.99 and $399.99. $25 off (13%) 5G, Unlocked, 128GB Storage, 4GB RAM, 6.7-Inch IPS LCD Screen with 1604 x 720 Pixel Resolution and 120Hz Refresh Rate Technology, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 Processor, Android 15, 50 + 2MP Dual Rear-Facing Camera System, 16MP Front-Facing Camera, 5,000mAh Battery, 30W Charging Capabilities, Vegan Leather Finish, Forest Gray Color Buy at Motorola $25 off (13%) 5G, Unlocked, 128GB Storage, 4GB RAM, 6.7-Inch IPS LCD Screen with 1604 x 720 Pixel Resolution and 120Hz Refresh Rate Technology, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 Processor, Android 15, 50 + 2MP Dual Rear-Facing Camera System, 16MP Front-Facing Camera, 5,000mAh Battery, 30W Charging Capabilities, Vegan Leather Finish, Forest Gray Color Buy at BestBuy That's the one you normally have to pay just two Benjamins for, so as you can imagine, the discount offered by Motorola itself and Best Buy is not exactly mind-blowing... in value. But 25 bucks is 25 bucks, and it slashes a decent 12 percent off the handset's aforementioned list price... for the first time ever. At $174.99, you're obviously looking at an even stronger value proposition than usual, and although our Moto G (2025) review a little while back was not exactly glowing with praise, it's hard to argue with the appeal of that sleek vegan leather finish, incredibly smooth 120Hz refresh rate-supporting IPS LCD screen, and hefty 5,000mAh battery equipped with blazing fast 30W charging technology... in the sub-$200 segment. The vegan leather finish is undoubtedly one of the biggest Moto G 2025 selling points. | Image Credit -- PhoneArena Yes, it'd have been nicer if the 6.7-inch display used AMOLED tech instead of LCD or at least offered a higher resolution than 1604 x 720 pixels, but all in all, this is clearly one of the best budget 5G phones around, and its 50MP primary rear-facing camera and reasonably powerful MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor only make that more obvious and difficult to deny. The big question you need to ask yourself before pulling the trigger here (at either Best Buy or Motorola's official US website) is whether or not Samsung's $200 Galaxy A16 5G (which can occasionally be found at $175 or less) will make you happier than the Moto G (2025). The design is clearly inferior on the humblest 2025 member of the Galaxy A family available stateside, and the same goes for things like charging speeds. But the Galaxy A16 rocks a surprisingly high-quality Super AMOLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate technology and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, and the long-term software support is always better on Samsung phones compared to their Motorola rivals. Tough decision, eh?

One UI 8.5 quietly confirmed for Galaxy S26 Ultra

Samsung's upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, is rumored to come with One UI 8.5. A few days ago, the first firmware for the phone was spotted on Samsung's server, suggesting that the phone's software is now being developed. It was then suspected that the firmware was based on One UI 8 .5, but there was no confirmation. Now, the folks at SamMobile have managed to get their hands on the first firmware for the expected beast to confirm it's based on One UI 8.5. The firmware version is carrying number S948USQU0AYG8. Its build info mentions it's based on Android 16 and One UI 8 .5. This is the first time One UI 8 .5 was mentioned officially, confirming its existence. Earlier, reputable leaker IceUniverse also mentioned the Galaxy S26 Ultra may come with One UI 8 .5. Last week, we heard that Samsung will start introducing major One UI versions with the foldables from the Galaxy Z series, which is sometime in the middle of each year. Now, Galaxy S series phones are going to come with One UI x.5, which includes major new features and improvements. Proof that Galaxy S26 Ultra may come with One UI 8.5. | Image Credit - SamMobile Google has switched to a new development model for Android for faster release of software. It's now releasing major new Android versions in the middle of the year. So Samsung is aiming with this change to match Google's software update release timeline with One UI releases. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to come with some great upgrades as well, not just some new features in One UI 8 .5. The phone is said to bring improvements to its display, possibly faster charging (although rumors are contradictory on this one), and maybe a new look. The S26 series is expected to come out in early 2026. They'll face the iPhone 17 series (coming this fall) in the battle of the best flagship phone. I think that this is an exciting change for Galaxy users. One UI 8 .5 sounds like it could bring some nice improvements, and it's great to see Samsung syncing up with Google's Android updates. That could mean faster, more polished software for everyone. The fact that Samsung is already testing the firmware shows it's working hard to get things ready early. If the Galaxy S26 Ultra delivers on the upgrades we've heard about, plus the new software, it could be a really strong competitor in 2026.
