‘Loud moaning': Swingers party takes over quiet villlage
Swingathon took place this weekend in the town of Allington, two hours north of London, and has attracted around 1000 amorous attendees.
That's more than the number of residents who live in the quaint village, which has a listed population of just 897.
The three-day festival features frisk play tents, pole dancing, foam parties, mobile dungeons and an array of sex games.
But its presence in the quaint British hamlet has caused a stir among locals after X-rated noises took over its usually quiet streets, the New York Post reports.
The annual festival first began back in 2020, and is becoming bigger each year, much to the chagrin of locals.
'We're becoming known as the swingers capital of England just because of this festival and that's not a title we want,' one anonymous resident told Southwest News Service.
'It's mostly elderly people and families here so you can imagine them spitting their tea out when they learned we were to be the home of Swingathon.'
'It's usually the talk of the village. Some say let consenting adults do whatever they want to do, but I know many are not pleased they have chosen here for such activities,' they added. 'It's just a bit seedy and sleazy isn't it? Not for me I'm afraid.'
In prior years, residents have publicly complained about an onslaught of 'loud moaning and screaming sounds' coming from the site.
'God forbid a fella wants some peace and quiet in his lil' town,' one person commented on an Instagram post advertising the event.
However, the organiser of the summertime sex festival insists there's nothing dirty about the event.
'Contrary to some beliefs, there are no keys in bowls, seedy music, lecherous individuals or a high level of STIs among this community,' Swingathon's Matthew Cole claimed.
'In fact, individuals within this community are respectful, conscientious, and more likely to practise safe sex or be regularly tested than the average person you might meet on a night out in a club,' the organiser added.
'The team are passionate about normalising the sexual freedom that alternative lifestyles provide and continue to strive against prejudice and adversity to bring the community a safe and inclusive social, play and learning space.'
Tickets for the frisky festival go for around $250 USD ($A385), with live music, DJs, workshops and demonstrations that are advertised as being set in a 'safe, inclusive space' that 'celebrates diversity.'

'Sexstival if you will,' wrote a second.

Tributes flow for mighty rocker Ozzy Ozbourne
Sabra Lane: The pioneering heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne died when he was 76. He was the frontman of Black Sabbath, selling more than 100 million records, and he was famous, or perhaps infamous, for his wild antics as a 20th century rocker. Myles Houlbrook-Walk takes a look back on the life of the singer affectionately known as the Prince of Darkness. Myles Houlbrook-Walk: There were few musicians quite like Ozzy Osbourne. He had a distinctive vocal style, some described it as eerie, that catapulted his band Black Sabbath and him to heavy metal international stardom. As the band grew, so did their onstage antics and Osbourne's persona. Murray Engleheart is a music journalist and saw Black Sabbath several times as well as interviewing Osbourne. Murray Engleheart: An amazing performer, charismatic, energetic, get the worst crowd on the planet on their feet. Myles Houlbrook-Walk: Watching them in concert, Murray Ingleheart says there was a striking and unique sound that would go on to influence many musicians. Murray Engleheart: If it wasn't for him, there wouldn't be half the bands on the planet that there are now. They brought a sound that was really, really unique that thousands of bands have picked up on since. Myles Houlbrook-Walk: Osbourne lived up to his reputation off stage too, his cocaine and alcohol abuse eventually catching up with him. His wild ways saw him kicked out of Black Sabbath, the band he founded. Murray Engleheart: Back in the 70s, it was that sort of excess, that was pretty normal. I mean, he did it really well or really badly, whichever way you want to look at it. Myles Houlbrook-Walk: Ozzy then forged a solo career, which also produced remarkable success. His manner on stage continued to provide shock and awe. Most notably, a live bat was thrown onto the stage during one of his shows. He proceeded to bite off its head. Ozzy Osbourne: And somebody threw a bat. Now, to find someone who goes to a concert with a bat in their, a real bat, you always get the joke ones, you know, you get like the rubber ones you buy from the corner joke shop. And I picked it up, I thought, this is gonna be good. Bit into this bat. You bit it? Believe me, if I've ever known it was a real live bat, I would never have picked it up. Myles Houlbrook-Walk: Beyond his music, he also forged a career on reality TV alongside wife and manager Sharon Osbourne in the early 2000s. Music critic Bernard Zuel says Ozzy was fearless in allowing his family to become a spectacle. Bernard Zuel: You are the into some kind of artiness as a film star, or maybe you became one of those showmen who would do television cabaret or something like that. He made the idea of supposed real life, the way to tell your story. Myles Houlbrook-Walk: In his later years, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, losing his mobility. But the Prince of Darkness had one final very public act performing in his hometown of Birmingham earlier this month in front of tens of thousands in a farewell gig. IN LONDON The stars of The Naked Gun reboot have hit the red carpet for the London premiere ahead of its highly-anticipated release. In the follow-up to the cult comedy classic, Liam Neeson takes over the iconic role of Detective Frank Drebin (albeit Jr.) made famous by Leslie Nielsen in the 80s and 90s. He was joined by co-star Pamela Anderson, aka his love interest and investigative partner Beth Davenport, in Leicester Square on Tuesday night. The new instalment of the beloved franchise sees Drebin Jr. caught up in a murder case, part of a broader sinister plot for mass destruction, which he must solve in order to prevent the police department from shutting down. Just like those in the original franchise, the latest Naked Gun movie leans in to the most bonkers humour – and even co-writer Doug Mand admitted to that he was shocked they got most of the jokes over the line. 'I can't believe this movie got made,' he revealed ahead of the UK screening. 'You dream about writing something that's silly and fun and joyful and they're not making a lot of movies like this anymore. Every joke that's on screen [in The Naked Gun ], I can't believe they shot it, and I can't believe they spent money on shooting it.' Neeson revealed to that he'd needed to be 'convinced' to go through with some of the movie's more 'outrageous' scenes. 'There were a couple of apprehensions, mainly to do with the script,' the Taken actor, 73, said. 'There were certain scenes that were too outrageous.' After voicing his concerns, however, he was eventually thoroughly 'convinced they would work' by the production team. The Naked Gun certainly shows off a whole new side of the actor, who's known for his intimidating and stoic on-screen presence. But his latest role is actually more aligned with his sense of humour, as Anderson, 58, told joking that he was inherently 'a silly little boy'. 'He's very funny. I think with most people, there are so many sides to them, and that's what makes them interesting.' She added: 'Playing it straight was very important to make this film work – we had to make sure we weren't trying to be funny. That we were in the relationship, and in the situation, and then the comedy came from the circumstances.' With so much slapstick comedy, deadpan one-liners and an extraordinarily lengthy and a surreal romantic scene involving a snowman, most actors' ability to keep a straight face would be put to the test. 'We tried to get the laughs out in rehearsals … but the snowman. The snowman!' Anderson laughed. 'There were so many things that happened that were just so ridiculous, and we'd be like, 'What are we doing?' But those were where the most fun parts were.'
