AFL ruckman Rhys Stanley enjoys new home and life on the land with family
With the plan to embrace a working farm life, the couple had been searching for land that not only reflected their love for wide-open spaces, but was also ideal for their three young children.
"When we first found the site, we drove to the top of the hill and knew instantly that this is where we want to build our family's forever home," Rhys said. "The project is something we can grow with and grow into; we're hoping the farmhouse is going to be something we can love for generations."
The couple enlisted the expertise of regional Victorian interior architecture and design studio, Studio Hallihan to bring their dream to life.
Blending a traditional farmhouse aesthetic with modern design elements, the home embraces natural materials, while expansive walls, high-peaked vaulted ceilings and oversized windows let in natural light throughout the day, an integral component of the interior's design.
One of the standout design elements in the home is its use of soft curves, a feature that adds elegance and flow between spaces.
To achieve this, the couple turned to Gyprock Flexible plasterboard, which allowed their designer to bring creative curved featured walls and ceilings to life and marry the farmhouse style perfectly.
"The designer had some fun with curves throughout the house, and they have turned out better than we could have imagined," Rhys said. "Seeing it completed and looking so beautiful fills us with a lot of pride."
When Geelong footballer Rhys Stanley and his wife Kirsten first set eyes on this expansive acreage on Victoria's surf coast, they knew it was the perfect place to build their forever home.

Sophie Cachia and Madison Prespakis' bold property move
Melbourne entrepreneur, author and influencer Sophie Cachia has listed her fully renovated Tullamarine home as she prepares to buy with AFLW star Madison Prespakis. Cachia, who has a combined social media following of more than 300,000 across Instagram and TikTok, is known for her bold personal style, parenting content and outspoken takes on relationships and identity. Her partner, Madison Prespakis, is a midfielder for Essendon in the AFLW and a former Carlton star who won the league's Best and Fairest in 2020 aged 19. RELATED: Landmark 139yo Melbourne church could fetch $5.5m Luxury home smashes Plenty record 'Small' Melbourne house scores $5m deal Ms Cachia, who co-parents three children, said the home had been the perfect base during a period of growth in both her personal and professional life — but the time was right to move on. 'Maddy and I will definitely be buying together, it's not about proving anything to anyone else, we're just really aligned in what we want,' she said. 'Whether it's near family or by the beach, as long as we're together, that's all that really matters.' Her four-bedroom home, which features a monochrome palette, premium appliances and a designer double ensuite, was purchased in 2021 and completely overhauled under Cachia's direction and has $900,000-$990,000 price hopes. Perth-based interior stylist and director of 13 Interiors Kelly Donougher, helped Ms Cachia design the home with a black-and-white aesthetic. 'I wasn't even really looking to buy, I just went to the open home, saw the potential, and completely fell in love with it,' Ms Cachia said. 'I literally rang Kelly while I was standing inside and said, 'If I buy this, will you help me style it? 'We were so aligned from the get-go. 'That strong monochrome look, I've always loved it. I knew exactly what I wanted this home to feel like.' The centrepiece of the renovation is the oversized ensuite in the main bedroom, complete with double vanities, a double shower, and a custom step built with young children in mind. 'I'm someone who doesn't really use the bedroom for anything other than sleep, so I wanted the ensuite to be the wow factor,' Ms Cachia said. 'That whole front section of the house became a sanctuary. I'll miss it so much.' Other highlights include two living areas, a walk-in dressing room, integrated appliances, secure gated entry and a low-maintenance backyard with a private pool. Matthews Real Estate director John Matthews said the home was one of the suburb's most stylish offerings, with interest already building among buyers who will recognise the value of a finished renovation. 'You walk in and it just hits you — it's chic,' Mr Matthews said. 'It's not the kind of renovation you see in Tullamarine every day. Replicating this would cost well above the current guide.' The four-bedroom residence is scheduled to go under the hammer on August 23. Sign up to the Herald Sun Weekly Real Estate Update. Billy Brownless goes viral with X-rated ‘skinny dipping' photo
Billy Brownless has left his family horrified after sharing a photo of himself skinny dipping on social media. The Geelong Cats icon is living his best life and looking very loved up with his partner Crystle Fleur, with the couple enjoying a mid-year getaway last week to Western Australia. FOX FOOTY, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every match of every round in the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season LIVE in 4K, with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? Join now and get your first month for just $1. Brownless shared some happy snaps of the holiday around WA, and the footy larrikin saved some of his best, or worst work for a swimming pool at Broome. 'Welcome to Bill's fitness regime,' he said in a tongue-in-cheek clip uploaded to social media. 'Today I'm going to swim 50 laps of this pool. Righto, here we go.' Cue the camera panning to show a pool that could not have been more than three metres long, as Brownless pushed off for a 'lap'. He wrote on Instagram: 'While in Broome I thought I would get back into the pool and cut some laps!!!' In a separate post, Brownless shared a photo of him relaxing in the pool with his obvious lack of swimwear leaving little to the imagination — thankfully he was facing away from the camera. 'Some call it 'Skinny Dipping' I like to call it 'Fat Dipping' #fatstraveldiary,' he wrote. Safe to say the X-rated post was a bit of a surprise to Brownless' friends and family. Former AFL star Dale Thomas joked: 'Reverse angle is a Nirvana album cover.' Bec Judd commented: 'Ahahaha. Nice seeing you yesterday. Glad you had some clothes on.' Brownless' horrified daughter Ruby commented: 'Wow it gets worse', after responding to his swimming pool post with 'Honestly no words'. His partner Crystal captioned one of her posts: 'Relaxing by the pool @cablebeachclub the most perfect place to relax until I looked in the pool @billybrownless.' Brownless, known as the king of Geelong during his playing days, told the Herald Sun his partner had uploaded the viral skinny dip photo to his Instagram account without his knowledge. 'She thought it was fun. I was just paddling around in the pool, splashing around,' he said. 'She said I've got a shot here for you. Darl, we'll get rid of those shorts and we'll just have a bit of fun with it. And she thought it would be funny to go nude. She knows how to post off my account. 120,000 views, the punters loved it.' The 58-year-old said his kids let him know they were less than impressed. 'They're the ones who aren't so happy,'' Brownless said. 'Ruby is the most outspoken, she rang me. She said 'dad, you're a dickhead'.' Earlier this month, Brownless and Fleur celebrated their one-year anniversary, with Fleur posting: 'Happy 1st anniversary to this amazing man!' Brownless and Fleur went public with their relationship in October last year at Geelong's best and fairest night. The Cats Hall of Famer was seen arm in arm with the 52-year-old mum of three with the two being sighted at a plethora of events since. The pair had reportedly been going strong for two months before their first public outing. The happy couple were spotted after the AFL Grand Final speaking with his ex-wife Nicky Brownless and former best mate and Melbourne great Garry Lyon. Brownless and Nicky were together for 18 years before splitting in 2014. In 2016 Lyon's friendship with Brownless fell apart after he went public with Nicky. A month after their relationship made headlines, Billy revealed how the relationship had impacted his family, saying 'a good mate wouldn't do that'. 'I couldn't believe it. I found out three or four months ago. I asked Garry and Nicky earlier on what is going on and they said they were just good friends,' he said on the Footy Show at the time. 'That's what hurts the most.' The former best mates have since reunited with the duo spending several Christmases together as an extended family. Lyon surprised Nicky in December, 2023 when he proposed and she said yes. Nicky clearly wasn't expecting the move, announcing the news of the engagement on her Instagram account, posting a black and white photo of the pair embracing with the caption 'the best surprise'. The duo, who have been together for eight years, took off to New York shortly after the proposal.

'You're 38 levels up and the home is split across two levels, it's private and very secure.' Four of the bedrooms have an ensuite, while the main bedroom includes a walk-in wardrobe and bathtub with river views. The kitchen showcases Gaggenau appliances such as dual ovens and a steam oven, plus a butler's pantry. The building offers a concierge service, an indoor pool, spa, sauna and gym to residents. Mr Rombotis said they had received calls from international-based buyers about the penthouse. 'It would suit a family who are seeking to live in the city or someone wanting a CBD base,' he said.
