NICK WALSH will referee tomorrow's European Under-21 Championship semi-final between Germany and France in Slovakia.
The group of Scottish officials at the tournament - which includes Walsh plus Dan McFarlane, Calum Spence and Andrew Dallas - have been praised following their handling of the group games between Portugal and Poland then Spain and Italy.

Walsh was also fourth official for the first match of the competition between Slovakia and Spain.
He will be assisted in the Kosice clash by McFarlane and Spence as his assistant with Dallas acting as the VAR.
Walsh has been at the centre of a number of high-profile refereeing incidents in Scottish football over the past 12 months.
In February of this year he sent off Rangers midfielder Mohamed Diomande for a 'slap' on Dundee United defender Kevin Holt.
Diomande pleaded his innocence at the time and Gers later appealed the decision.
The Ibrox club were successful in their appeal and the red card was rescinded.
Then towards the end of the season, Walsh was slammed for awarding Ross County a controversial penalty in a match against Dundee, which led to a goal that practically relegated St Johnstone.
The whistler's call was labelled a disgrace under the circumstances, with BBC pundit Michael Stewart not holding back in his assessment.
He said: "It's a disgrace, let's not beat about the bush.
"The fact Nick Walsh gives a penalty in the first place is just unforgivable and for VAR not to intervene and overturn this is inexcusable.
And perhaps the most notorious decision was his failure to award Ranger a goal against Hibs - despite most of the stadium at the time and indeed plenty of evidence since to suggest that the ball crossed the line.
Nicolas Raskin thought he'd scored for the Light Blues on the last day of the season but saw his claims denied by Walsh and the team at Easter Road.
An SFA panel later admitted that it SHOULD have stood.
The debacle led to former Gers defender John Brown, who was commentating for the club's official TV channel at the time, calling the decision "corrupt".

Motherwell goalkeeper a target for Airdrie ahead of season opener
The Diamonds are looking to strengthen between the sticks Airdrieonians are targeting the signing of Motherwell goalkeeper Matty Connelly on loan. Lanarkshire Live Sport understands the Fir Park shot-stopper, who was handed his first team debut for the Steelmen earlier this month in a 2-1 win over Peterhead in the Premier Sports Cup, is being pursued by the Diamonds ahead of Saturday's Championship opener at home to Ross County. Rhys McCabe's side are currently light in the goalkeeping department with goalie coach David Hutton named on the bench for Saturday's cup defeat to Alloa, while 20-year-old Cade Melrose started between the sticks. Hutton has been a substitute in all of the club's cup matches, with Melrose taking the gloves. So the Diamonds are keen to strengthen in that department and the answer could lie with Connelly, who played regularly on loan at East Kilbride last season on their way to the Lowland League title and promotion to League Two. Connelly - who signed a new one year deal with Motherwell last month - had been expected to return to Kilby this season, but an injury to Fir Park No.1 Aston Oxborough in pre-season meant the Steelmen held on to their youth academy product for their Premier Sports Cup games, which concluded last midweek. However, with Oxborough returning in Friday night's friendly against Hertha Berlin off the bench and second choice Calum Ward starting that game ahead of Saturday's Premiership opener with Rangers, it is understood 22-year-old Connelly could be looking to go out on loan again. Connelly recently said in an interview with Motherwell's club media: 'The loans have been absolutely pivotal. 'I've always said I'd rather go out and play instead of just being a number two or a three. The excitement of playing games is the most important thing and especially getting the experience. 'My first loan at Gretna, which was brilliant, it was only a short period I was there before I got the facial injury, it was so benefical. What a place it is, great place to start. Moving to Stranraer, that was cut short but East Kilbride was so good. 'That's where I played the majority of my games, I think I played just under 50 games there last year. I've been there twice and had the chance to go back there which was a no brainer. 'Getting those games and experience is vital. It moulds you and gets you one step closer to playing first-team football here.'

Rangers fans sense Celtic transfer panic as Bank of Parkhead sits on millions and Rodgers begs for signings
Ryan McDonald mans the phone lines as Hoops supporters let rip at their board The Bank of Parkhead is overflowing with cash. But Celtic fans are growing increasingly restless as the millions continue to gather dust. The quest for five-in-a-row kicks off on Sunday, while the £40million Champions League play-off is just around the corner. And with Brendan Rodgers' squad desperately light in key areas, patience is wearing thin amongst the green-and-white faithful. Kenny Wilson from Moffat emailed:"With the new season starting this weekend, I never thought we would be heading into it with a squad without any major investment - it's an absolute joke. "More money in the bank than ever and it's a kick in the teeth to fans ploughing money constantly into the club. If the manager walks, I wouldn't blame him. The biscuit tin days are well and truly back." Joe MacEachen wrote: "Could somebody ask the Celtic Board what their transfer policy is in terms of bringing in quality players? "Reported bids of £1.5million for players are akin to those made by English Fourth Tier clubs and frankly are a disgrace and an insult to all Celtic fans. "What has happened to the £70m profit the board were congratulating themselves at making last season? It is certainly not being invested in the team, so is it being kept to line the pockets of the Board? "I know Celtic cannot compete financially with top clubs in England and Europe financially but for heaven's sake, we do have money available to invest in the team but so far little has been done nor does it look like being done before the new season begins next weekend or before the Champions League Qualifying play off in a few weeks. Why?" Eddie Easson, Ballingry Fife, said:" In answer to Keith Jackson's column, Celtic took their eye off the ball once in 14 years when they gifted Rangers the title during Covid through complacency and bad boardroom decisions. This hasn't happened again. "We have all heard the same every year, 'Rangers are coming' from various former Rangers directors. Now it's Paul Murray's minute of fame. Celtic will never underestimate Rangers this year is no different." Rangers fans can hear the alarm bells ringing from across the city as John Spence, South Ayrshire, wrote: "As a Rangers fan, the amount of panic emanating from the Celtic support is a welcome sign. "No marquee signings, a couple of poor friendly results and positive vibes emanating from Ibrox have taken them from complacency to despondency in a few short weeks. "Some are even calling for Lawwell and Desmond to be replaced! Are they really that fragile? Hopefully, we may find out soon. A poor start will see Celtic implode, the Herras fencing may be back out." Derek McInnes couldn't have asked for a better start as Hearts manager after rounding off an impressive pre-season by battering Sunderland 3-0. But Alfie Mullin, London, said:"It's interesting to see Jambos fans are getting delusional. After winning a few nothing games, they think they are going to win the league. I wonder what they're spiking Gorgie pies with these days?" One punter from the capital is unhappy with the Premier Sports Cup draw. Cameron Hall, Edinburgh, added: "So both Edinburgh teams have tricky away ties in the League Cup while, as usual, Celtic and Rangers basically have home byes. "Between them, the Old Firm have only been drawn away four times in the competition since 2020 and Rangers only once. As Woody Allen once said, 'Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me!'"
