Future City will redefine Telangana's urban development: Deputy CM Bhatti
The deputy CM was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the new conference hall at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) headquarters in Hyderabad.
Highlighting the state government's push for transformative development initiatives such as the Future City, Musi river rejuvenation and the Regional Ring Road (RRR) projects, he said: 'Once these projects are completed, Hyderabad's growth will be beyond imagination.'
'Future City will be a game changer that will redefine urban development in the region,' he added.
He also revealed that the government was chalking out plans to develop IT, pharma and housing clusters between the ORR and RRR.
The deputy CM, meanwhile, announced that the government was mulling the idea of introducing a one-time settlement scheme for pending power bills, a long-standing request from industry stakeholders.
He also highlighted Telangana's strengths as an investment destination, its world-class infrastructure, skilled workforce, international airport, and stable power supply, including plans to introduce green energy for industries. 'Hyderabad is a goldmine of innovation and talent. Let us create wealth not just for a few, but for every household in the state,' he said.
He said that as part of its broader vision for inclusive growth, the government has started initiatives like the Skills University and Ambedkar Knowledge Centres aimed at equipping youth with industry-relevant skills.
He also reiterated the government's aim to empower one crore women and transform them into millionaires within five years.
'Creating wealth is not the end goal. It is a means to enhance the dignity of our people and fulfil their aspirations,' he said while calling for collaboration between government, industry and civil society to ensure equitable distribution of wealth across Telangana.

Trade SOP in limbo, India takes novel approach in ‘dynamic' talks with US
As uncertainty over the India-US interim trade deal continues following the conclusion of an extended round of negotiations, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has adopted a fresh approach — operating outside the purview of the standard operating procedure (SOP) which has been under preparation since last year —to respond to challenging US demands, The Indian Express has learnt. The Ministry had begun preparations in May last year to compile a 60-page SOP to address the lack of consistent and streamlined procedures for negotiating future trade agreements. This was aimed at guiding the process of launching, conducting, and concluding trade negotiations, and addressed issues such as human resource mobilisation, negotiation team formation, and the composition and hierarchy of negotiating teams. 'The SOP for trade negotiations, which was supposed to be finalised by the top brass of the government, could not be completed due to internal disagreements. As far as the US deal is concerned, negotiations had to be conducted outside the scope of the SOP to tackle the dynamic nature of US trade negotiations,' a government official said on condition of anonymity. US President Donald Trump had initially set a July 9 deadline for countries to sign a trade deal and avoid steep reciprocal tariffs, later revising the deadline to August 1. Trump also announced fresh tariffs on dozens of countries, including Canada, the EU, Brazil, and several ASEAN nations. However, he stated that a deal with India is close. While extensive consultations with industry — ranging from textiles to automobiles — have been taking place, several farmer bodies and state ministers have begun raising concerns over the lack of consultation during the ongoing negotiations for the US deal, which could involve opening up India's agricultural market. Kerala's Minister for Agriculture, P Prasad, said earlier this month that the livelihoods of lakhs of Kerala's rubber, coconut, dairy, and poultry farmers could be at risk if the Centre fails to protect Indian farmers' interests in the negotiations. Prasad said that Kerala had not been consulted on the deal and added that the India-ASEAN trade agreement had previously had a negative impact on the state. The Indian Coordination Committee of Farmers Movements (ICCFM), representing farmers from 11 states, said agriculture should be excluded from the trade deal. It highlighted that the US is one of the world's largest exporters of synthetic rubber. 'The US is one of the biggest exporters of synthetic rubber. Synthetic rubber imports have seriously impacted the farm-gate price of natural rubber in India. India imported Rs 1,556.54 crore worth of synthetic rubber and related products from the US in 2017–18, and Rs 71,490.73 crore in 2018–19. If India reduces import duties on synthetic rubber from the US, it will severely affect rubber farmers,' the ICCFM said. Farmers also warned that if India signs a trade deal with the US, the latter could import raw sugar from Brazil, process it in the US, and then export it to India—hurting the domestic sugar industry. Gaiety marks Bonalu celebrations in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The annual 'Bonalu' festival was celebrated in Hyderabad on Sunday in a traditional manner with thousands of devotees participating in the festivities. Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and state ministers were among prominent personalities who offered prayers at the Mahankali temples in the old city of Hyderabad. Deputy Chief Minister Vikramarka and Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Vakati Srihari and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy offered silk robes to the deity on behalf of the state government at Simhavahini Mahankali temple at Lal Darwaza. The Deputy CM said they prayed for the development of the state and prosperity, and happiness for people. Former Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya, BJP MP K. Laxman, MLA D. Nagender, BRS MLC K. Kavitha, BJP leader Madhavi Latha, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) chairman B. R. Naidu, were among prominent personalities who offered prayers at Mahankali Temple Lal Darwaza, the historic Akkanna Madanna temple at Hari Bowli in Shah Ali Banda and other temples to the deity in different parts of the city. The festival dedicated to the Hindu goddess of power, Mahankali or Kali, is intended to ward off evil and usher in peace. Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy offered prayers at the Mahankali temple in Amberpet. Devotees, including a large number of women, queued up at the temples to offer Bonalu, which consists of cooked rice, jaggery, curd and turmeric water, carried in steel and clay pots on their heads. Declared as the state festival after the creation of Telangana state in 2014, Bonalu is being celebrated on a large scale with pomp and gaiety. Various government departments have made all necessary arrangements for the devotees visiting the temples, like drinking water, sanitation, roads and uninterrupted power supply. Police made elaborate security arrangements for the festival. About 1,200 policemen were deployed around the Lal Darwaza temple. The two-day festivities will conclude on Monday with 'Rangam', the oracle prediction at Akkanna Madanna temple, followed by a combined procession on a caparisoned elephant, carrying 'ghatam' of the goddess Mahankali. The procession will pass through the main thoroughfares of the old city, including historic Charminar, before reaching Delhi Darwaza Matha Temple near Musi River, where the ghatam will be immersed. Authorities ordered the closure of liquor shops, bars, restaurants and toddy outlets in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda Commissionerates in view of the festival. Bonalu is celebrated in parts of Hyderabad and Secunderabad during the Ashadam month. Also known as Ashada Jatra Utsavalu, it is celebrated on four Sundays in different places in the twin cities. Last Sunday, it was celebrated in Secunderabad, where Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made the offering. It is believed that the festival was first celebrated over 150 years ago following a major cholera outbreak. People believed that the epidemic was due to the anger of Mahankali and began offering Bonalu to placate her.

Polluting industries within Hyderabad ORR to be relocated beyond city limits: Dy CM
HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has directed officials to expedite the relocation of all polluting industries currently operating within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to areas beyond it. On Saturday, the minister chaired a Cabinet subcommittee meeting on revenue resource mobilisation at the Secretariat. Ministers and committee members N Uttam Kumar Reddy, D Sridhar Babu and Jupally Krishna Rao were present. The committee instructed officials to formulate clear guidelines and a relocation calendar, including a final deadline for shifting the industries. It also reviewed the status of housing units under various stages of the Rajiv Swagruha Scheme and vacant plots under the Housing Board. Officials were directed to ensure that the ongoing public auction process by the Housing Board is conducted transparently. The committee emphasised that the Housing Board must prioritise affordable housing for the common people and the middle class. Reports on revenue growth achieved in the past month were also presented. The Commercial Taxes department reported a 1.8% increase, the Stamps and Registrations department recorded a 3.6% rise, and the Mines department reported a 7% growth in revenue. Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary of Finance Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Special Chief Secretary of Industries Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary of Mines Sridhar, MAUD Secretary Ilambarthi, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz, Mines Commissioner Shashank, District Collectors Harichandan and Narayana Reddy, and TGTDC MD Valluru Kranti were among those present at the meeting.
