Dubai's RTA highlights upcoming Al Quoz Community projects
During the session, RTA also shared details of upcoming projects slated for 2025, including Phase Two of the Latifa bint Hamdan Corridor Development Project, Al Meydan Street Development Project, Umm Suqeim Street Upgrade and enhancements on Al Marabea' Street.
The session is part of RTA's ongoing efforts to strengthen direct communication channels between the community and government officials.
It also served as a platform for Al Quoz residents to share their feedback and suggestions regarding the development of major road corridors, paving of internal streets, and installation of lighting in residential neighbourhoods.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the Public Transport Agency and First Vice Chair of the Customers Council at RTA chaired the session. Also in attendance were Hussain Al Banna, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency, and Meera Ahmad Al Shaikh, Director of Customer Happiness, along with several directors and officials from various RTA agencies and sectors responsible for road and infrastructure development across Dubai.
Fahad Sulaiman Arab, Deputy Director and Manager of Roads Construction at the Traffic and Roads Agency, highlighted the recent upgrades on First Al Khail Road and Phase One of Latifa bint Hamdan Street. He also outlined the resulting improvements in traffic flow and road safety.
During the session, Al Quoz residents discussed RTA's upcoming infrastructure works, particularly along Al Asayel Street, Al Waha Street, and Al Meydan Street.
Discussions also covered internal road works such as paving, pedestrian walkways, resident parking, speed humps, and pedestrian bridges, all designed to improve road safety in the area.

UAE sends 38 aid trucks to Gaza through Rafah crossing
A convoy of Emirati humanitarian aid trucks has entered the Gaza Strip via the Rafah border crossing, as part of the UAE's ongoing 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3' relief mission. The convoy included 38 trucks, with 18 carrying essential supplies such as food, medical aid and infant formula. The remaining 20 trucks delivered equipment for a new water pipeline that will connect a UAE-built desalination plant in Egypt to displacement zones in Gaza between Rafah and Khan Younis. The pipeline will span 7 km and produce 2 million gallons of water per day. This follows an earlier delivery of 25 trucks, bringing the total number of vehicles supporting the water infrastructure project to 45, with all necessary components now in place. Meanwhile, the UAE has resumed its 'Birds of Goodness' aid airdrop missions to provide critical relief to the people of Gaza.

Dubai to convert used cooking oil into clean, renewable fuel
Used cooking oil in Dubai will soon be transformed into clean fuel, as part of a new environmental initiative led by Dubai Municipality in collaboration with BiOD Technology FZCO. The project aims to reduce pollution, ease pressure on the sewage infrastructure, and advance Dubai's transition to green energy. Under the agreement, used cooking oil (UCO), along with fats, oils, and grease (FOG), will be collected from across the emirate and processed into B100 biodiesel — a renewable, cleaner-burning alternative to traditional diesel. Aside from producing clean, renewable energy, the initiative is also expected to lower the operational costs of wastewater treatment and prevent sewer blockages caused by improper disposal of grease and oil. Dubai Municipality has authorised BiOD, a subsidiary of DUBAL Holding, to manage the city-wide collection and processing operations. "This partnership marks an exciting step forward, and we are eager to expand our efforts into broader initiatives that promote sustainable waste management and innovative recycling solutions," said Shiva Vig, CEO of BiOD Technology. 'This partnership represents a significant step in our mission to advance Dubai's environmental agenda through innovative and sustainable waste-to-energy solutions," said Adel Al Marzooqi, CEO of the Waste and Sewerage Agency at Dubai Municipality.
